oh your daughter must have alot of fun my mom doesn't do that with me but my 28 year old sister dose

You're welcome and yes you do :)
I recall buying "candy apples" from street vendors every fall. Huge black kettle on open woodfire, bubbly, red, hot cinnamony flavored syrup inside. Choose your own apple, skewer it on wooden stick & plunged the apple into the syrup. When they took it out of the kettle, the cold air would cause a long string of crystallized syrup candy to trail from the pot to the cooling tray. We loved that glassy candy. If you can find it, try making this recipe with Red Hots (USA product). Tkx for all us do!
I love you for this! Thank you!
Love the show I make everything you put out my Family and friends love it😊.
Todd's recipes are so delish
@journeytopeace It is used to produce a creamier texture in sugary desserts such as candy and frosting. You can find it in the bakery section of your supermarket.
Outstanding! Yes the longer it boils for the harder it gets. But im glade to hear it worked out :)
Its very easy. Just soak it in water and over a couple of hours the toffee will simply dissolve into the water.
oh black sounds like a fantastic idea!
Thanks I really love your recipies ;-)
Just looking at that it looks sooooooooo yummy thank you

@cheekychickenhead Mine were fine. Maybe they made them sloppy. The ones i made were no sticky and just right. The only wet bit was the apple as it was so juicy.
Easy to follow and great video to watch

It helps to stabilise the sugar
Thank you so much :)
@journeytopeace I'm always happy to "try" and help :) It's more of a hobby. I watched mum cook when i was growing up and took it from there. So every thing i know is self taught. And I'm always learning new things :)
awesome! they look so tasty!
Okay, I understand it now. Thanks for clearing it up for me, Todd
How can people dislike this video. These 18 people have no hearts whatsoever. And they are just jealous of Todd. Obviously this is a very good video !
Good question. Not sure. It does go on thin. But if i had to judge i would say at least 12.
I have made those to! :)
Your amazing I love your cooking
hehehe thank you. I do have a similar recipe coming out tomorrow that you may find interesting :)
Thanks for info
You make the coolest things
Well prep's looks good gonna try myself now
Sticks $2 = 40 sticks.
$4 apple = about 2kg (depending on time of year) So about 20 apples.
Sugar $1 KG
So works out to about 10cents each. thats a 90% saving. :)
I really appreciate that, thank you :)
I've just made these and they are fantastic, thank you! It worked perfectly! I bought a toffee apple in Tescos (in the UK) yesterday for 75p just for one, and I've spent much less then that per apple making these, so thank you! :) They're so good and I just had to have more!
Look like you ate 100 Tesco finest
I enjoy watching you're videos so much :) they always put me in a good mood you're such a character :) hahah
Thanks Jade :)
Outstanding! Please let me know how it went :)

with a spoon drop a little bit in a cup of cold water. If it goes hard its ready. Just keep doing that every 5-10 mins
the best thing I've ever tasted!
@journeytopeace Feels the same yes. But its a sort of acid. Just not the type that burns in any way. What country are you from?
Yes it prevents crystals forming
Thank you Hayley :)
I sure am :)
thank you :)
This show is so cool I love it 😍❤
Hey mate are you aussie by any chance?
Nice apples btw, they looked so tasty and when you bit into it I was thinking "god I bet that tastes sweet"
@journeytopeace Its called " der Zahnstein" in Germany.
Are you able to check the temp while cooking? If not let it boil on low for a good 45minutes then. That will give it the time it needs to get to the hard crack stage.
As a teen, I used to make toffee onions to give out to all those annoying kids who used to annoy the hell out of me on Halloween. That soon stopped them. For the genuine kids, I gave them the proper toffee apples.
Yes :)
Todd! did you use baking paper or greaseproof paper? my toffee apples stuck to the paper
