It’s surprises me to think that any pet parent wouldn’t be willing to help at the groomer. And some scenarios it can make all the difference. Anything to help my dog be less stressed especially when they’re older. I understand it’s not ideal in most cases, but I think it’s awesome that you allowed this and it just goes to show that it can work.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Dee Dee, you are the best!!! I wish you were in Miami, FL. I know that you and our beautiful (just turned 3 years old) Max (Black and White Shih-Tzu) will hit it off. You did an outstanding job with Mu Mu... loved all the interaction with the dog's mom. WOW.. That dog was wild .. until you brought the pet parent in.. still difficult but a huge difference.... She a good pet parent for sure.. being open and understanding DeDe and the dogs new needs.

The one thing that infuriated me when my fur baby was alive was the fact that I would tell everyone that he had high separation anxiety issues! No one believed me until they saw how he was with me! His passing on would have had been less stressful for him had they listened and let me be apart of the process of them trying to test him to find out what was wrong! My experience with the pet industry has forever traumatized me! He was not the first pet that I owned, but he is the last.

That's so sad to hear. I'm so sorry for you loss and that experience. I've been in your shoes but one day I did get another dog, and another, and yes I've lost many but I know the love I gave them, and them me was worth it to all of us. I hope that one day you will share your love with another again!

It just takes a groomer who loves & understands our senior babies. Most groomers don't wanna deal w/ it and they shouldn't if they don't want to love these dogs. There's so many conditions going on from all of the long term poisoning they are exposed to, no one really knows. Old Dogs Rule.

I have watched you for over a year. I think you are the best that has ever been. I don't have a dog anymore but did have one with long hair. Only thing I started grooming her myself as a pup and till the day I deaded had to say good bye to her she loved being groomed. Keep staying home you are some old lady in OH. Thinks your great at what you do.🌹

I sure wish I could find a groomer that has even part of the patients that you have , even a little bit of your talent. I have a wild child Pomeranian that it is a fight to keep brushed even though I still do it daily. You are such a good person !

One thing with a shiz zu is for walks, grooming they need a harness on! Cuz with a collar they can cause the tracia to collapse!.
Moo Moo was talking afterwards! Those noises were so damn cute I wanted to pet my 15 year old nephew like a dog.
My shihtzu was like this. When we would go for grooming I would stay with him. He didn’t like men much, except one ( his boarding handler), and when it came to grooming I would have to travel every 6 months to VA from FL to go to his favorite groomer. Yes I did everything to make sure he didn’t stress out as much, bc it broke my heart to see how he would be soo lethargic after each grooming. One groomer sedated him without my consent and that was the final straw, so we made the bi annual trip to VA every year. …I miss him soo much!

Like you can't change others, you can only change yourself, you don't train a dog. You train and educate yourself to be the pack leader, and invite the dog to accompany you on your journey of self-improvement, and to be a working member of your pack. I hope that makes sense.
i useally wash my 3 on monday then start grooming on tuesday its a week long process to get my 3 done i work alone

Yes its important that the pet momma helps the groomer but a dog will not have any mats if your dog is used to getting brushed everyday of its life. My shih tzu gets brushed every day. As a groomer you do a good job.

I wonder if there's some kind of light sedative the parent could give her before being groomed. Not full anesthesia, just to calm her down.
What would she do if the owners are not there to hold their dogs for her she obviously needs to return to grooming and fear of dogs school, people really should be careful who they let near their dogs! Felt sorry for the dog

I'm sorry but this woman...(dog parent) didn't have a clue in how to hold her own dog! This dog is in the shape she is in because of her! I get some pissed at people praising parents! This dog MuMu is aggressive, no training. She has been the boss and the pet parent is afraid of her own dog! Dogs are not to be sedated... EVER! When you have to have a dog sedated ..Parent are you train their dogs. When they don't...they will have you afraid of them. Have your dog trained, to not only keep you & the dog safe, but to keep the groomers safe!! It's faulty from not having the dog trained in the beginning! I was afraid for Dee Dee that the dog would jump her or bite her! Dee-Dee...you are the best ever!
You are not going to train your senior older pup. Not gonna happen. You need to have and deliver compassion.
