Ha good luck finding knowledgeable tech’s who know how to use the new diagnostic technology. We are on our 3rd buy of Carrier products and the (Infinity) products are very expensive. In 2022 we had to settle for an A/C unit instead of heat pump due to product availability.
I love my 25vna4, my 3rd carrier heat pump in 25 yrs. I will say however, that the defrost makes quite a bit of noise when the valve reverses (whooshing sound and later on a thump when complete). The first few days of freezing temps, I called out the installer to double check as I didn't know it was related to defrost at the time and it was quite noticeable. Maybe in the next generation, Carrier can look into improving this.
in a air handler...when they age....cob webs...lint and dust get in around coil and motor...and with high side pressures...of todays refrigerants....and if a evap coil happens to spring a big leak...wonder how new low flamable refrigerants will do?...
We need some info why carrier transducers failing fast so many are defective
Why do you call all refergerants "Freon". I thought Freon was a DuPont tradename.
Of course, Freon is a brand name of a line of refrigerants that is fading into history. Refrigerants, is the correct terminology for any of the mediums circulated within heating and or cooling units, in order that they can function as marketed.
Yes, he should be saying refrigerant.
Freon has become a generic term.
Freon is shorter and more fun to say, and it sounds like a generic material like neon or xenon.
It been called Freon for so long. If it ain’t broke right?
When are costs increases expected to recede?
Never
Never.....greed isn't even hidden anymore.....they are all scrapping and scratching to get every nickel they can.

Let's hope we can get new leadership at the national level to stop all this madness created by the stoke of a pen by someone who knows nothing of our industry.
Curiosity question......you keep referring to refrigerant as Freon (the brand of an R22 refrigerant many years ago) Is that just a habit because so many people (customers and such) call it that? Like Kleenex is for tissues.
Hi guys. I’m ready to retrofit my entire house. When will the new 2025 pureon advanced units with sensors and new boards be available to buy for residential? Thanks so much.
Heat pumps with the Puron Advance are out now. Split systems roll out this Fall/Winter.
SEER2 is an attack on minisplits that have no duct work, your minisplit doesnt look as great in seer2
