// What I Eat In A Day - Making Dinner Together // I wanted to make a multi-video series just going into detail each type of meal I make every day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks. Zack and I are very much mono-eaters; we eat close to the same thing every day. We eat basically a pescatarian diet, but we also eat eggs, cultured dairy, honey, etc. Anyways, I’d like to make more of these videos to help branch out in (1) what I eat and (2) in what I post here on my channel. :)

If you peel the broccoli stalks with a vegetable peeler, they're delicious and tender! And/or keep them for soup xx
To keep the rice from sticking at the bottom is to wash the rice thoroughly! Make sure the water runs clear in the rice. Getting rid of the excess starch will help it not to burn.
Thanks for opening up about managing PCOS with nutrition! So many people struggle with hormonal imbalances and it really encourages women to become advocates for their own health when others talk about this topic too! Also, your meals look delicious
If I could eat fish every day I would. Salmon is my favorite. I’ve made it so many ways. Don’t remember if you mentioned before about your PCOS. I have friends with that. Maybe in another video you can elaborate on how your diet has helped with your condition
Hi Bethany! One way to keep rice around for longer is to portion them out in ziploc bags and stick them in the freezer. Whenever you want rice, just get a ziploc bag of rice from the freezer and microwave it...fresh, steamed rice!
Tip about garlic. Garlic burns super fast, and you get the best flavor when not overlooking. Add garlic only at the last 30 seconds of cooking on the stove, and you’ll have a much yummier dish! I personally didn’t know how yummy garlic could be until I discovered you never want to add it to a dish until the dish is done. Only at he last 30 seconds, then get it off the heat. Happy cooking! 😘

Bethany, a trick for garlic is to crush them first, THEN peeling them. Just a suggestion! :)
Add butter to your water while your rice cooks. It won't singe. It's a great trick to keep the rice from ruining your cookware.

In case of interest - I think the rice cooker singes the bottom because it's brown rice, which needs to cook a bit longer than white rice. The rice cooker works by sensing weight/evaporation, and I believe it's default would be white rice 🙂

If you love savory dinners, oyster sauce would be a great addition to your veggies to add just a tad of flavor. Its my go to when i need to flavor up my veggies, but dont have much time.
Love these types of videos. Please make more. This is a type of dish I eat every week. I do.lemon salmon with rice and brussel sprouts. I have a friend who has PCOS and I understand how difficult it must be regarding your diet. My friend eats gluten, sugar, and dairy free. Hope you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Bethany please help . How do you find a quality white button down that will stay crisp (what materials do you look for) i was told I need a blend that is mostly nylon would you agree? Is there something I can do to pre-treat so it will keep the structure. Your style is always beautiful !

We make baked potatoes with fish. If you get fingerling potatoes and boil them for about 10 min before baking them, the baking time gets much shorter. Lots of olive oil, rosemary, and black pepper makes it amazing (you can also include a clove of garlic in the baking pan).

I would never guess you have pcos you look so pretty. I also have pcos so I feel you with the brown rice, fish, and veggies for everything lol. some advice for leftover rice is to use it for Chinese stir fried rice its normally recommended to use day old rice because its dryer and makes a better stir fry.

Lol I'm Asian and we all own rice cookers. You might like this book I recently borrowed from the library called Bento Power by Sara Kiyo Popowa.
My rice cooker is a Zojirushi it has a brown rice setting. Cheaper rice cookers are giving you that burnt effect. Also I have never seen anyone put butter in rice before. 😮
Rice stores well in the fridge what I do is take a paper towel, soak it in water, cover that over a bowl of rice and microwave for about a minute. But if you don't have a microwave I understand how that could be an issue maybe steaming it would have a similar effect.

I never get the whole "cold pressed olive oil" thing. All the olive oil producers in the world use a cold extraction method, it's the only way to do it. So the cold pressed oil wording is just marketing.
To make sure you get the best olive oil, both suitable for dressings or high heat, search for extra virgin olive oil: the purest oil, obtained when the olives are just pressed once.

I think it's different for everybody. I tracked my hormones a while back and figured out which foods were effecting mine negatively.
Remember white peeps.. Rice. Not potato. It keeps u stay slim.
