Hi! I rode this exact same flight, PR526, last June 19, 2022, and I was seated at 64A. You are absolutely right about the lavatories. I clearly remember that there were long lines several times at the lavatories at the back of the plane. This vlog brings back fond memories from me and my family's vacation in Kuala Lumpur.
Glad to know that PAL provides lunch meal for such a short flight! In the US, flight shorter than 3hours provide only beverage service and a pack of pretzels, water or you pay for your meal.
PAL is one possibility for our next trip to the US, so it was interesting to see their shorthaul service, and it seemed basic but OK. I loved your shot of the powerpoint at KLIA, it is so Malaysia to me - usually works OK but not alway the standard you expect!
You'd have a better experience comfort wise if you can get a wide body or A321neo. Love the PowerPoints in Malaysia, most of my chargers are from Hong Kong and only a few from Australia so I don't need an adapter haha!!
KL is one of my favourite airports and PAL one of my favourite airlines (that list is pretty short nowadays). I am flying cattle class with KLM to Manila on the 7th on a vey long flight ... can't wait to arrive. Thanks Jayden
I'm assuming you're referring to Kuala Lumpur Airport, not Manila haha!! Didn't know KLM fly to Manila, I just looked up, sadly it isn't 5th freedom so I cannot do BKK-Manila🤣 I actually just did KLM Singapore to Bali two days ago, it was a great flight. Thanks Norman!
Great video, Jayden! It seems the service was a bit lackluster although the food looked good. Also, no TV to power outlets is a bummer too. Can’t believe they only have 2 lavs for that many passengers on a pretty long flight. Hope your travel day wasn’t too exhausting.
Thanks! I wrote a long comment too, but when I donated, it deleted it I suppose. (So I just re-added) haha Nice flight review. Crowded bathrooms and tight seats are not fun. I love the reunions with Lilly and late night cooking and baths 18:05 - so cute!
I’m not a big fan of these A321CEO’s of PAL because they are just too outdated. Yes, they have WiFi but the lack of power outlets and IFE is just a bummer. Even on the wide bodies of PAL, they only offer USB Power Ports in Economy. I know Business Class on said wide bodies have USB Power Ports and Universal Power Outlets and I think it’s the same for Premium Economy. The lavatory system is a disaster too, too little for the amount of passengers but thankfully PAL’s A321neos have an additional lavatory in the middle. Great trip report as well!
I believe I took this same exact flight in 2018. Except I flew it in the A320. I found the seats to be a bit uncomfortable the times I flew the A321, usually from Guam. But I found the food quite good. It looks like you had a similar meal and experience. Enjoy your rest in that transit lounge. MNL can be a zoo.
Amazing vid Jayden! I’m flying off from Sydney to Frankfurt via Abu Dhabi in 1 week. Haven’t been on a plane for 4 years (due to virus) so am very pumped.
Great video Jayden! Thanks for the in depth review. It doesn’t look anything special but for the price it looks pretty decent! Thanks again mate and keep up the good work!

Hi Alex, the main reason I don't upload them in order is so it doesn't get too repetitive. Say I fly Qantas to Singapore return from Adelaide. That'll be four flights and videos involving the domestic connections. Then for the whole month, all my content will just be on Qantas. So I purposely don't do it in order so every week it's something different :) I also appreciate your comment about the preview, I'll consider that!
People use the lavatories in a timely manner. Sometimes there are long lines to use the lavatories and sometimes there are not. Just because there are two lavatories in the economy class does not mean that its not enough lavatories for all the passengers. Probably the passengers were drinking too much water.

Hi, Jayden! Thanks much for visiting MNL again. I'm just so upset 'cause our national carrier still uses old A320-200s in their short haul regional flights while we have already 10+ newer A320neos (with IFE and better economy seats). I've experienced the "neos" couple of times before pandemic, though in 2019, my CGK-MNL flight utilized the older A320s. Hope that you will still patronize PR in your future flights. 🙏🏾
I just remembered your MNL-HKG flight back in 2019, when they used the old A320, when in fact that they deployed the neos, A330 (refurbished), even the A350 and B777 up to this day. HKG is one of PR's profitable routes.
They actually did get new Airbus planes A350-1000. However there is a downside to it 3-4-3 in economy and speaking of the channel owner if you ask him about it he would actually prefer the Hong kongers version 3-3-3 in economy. Easy way to do the comparison is booking HKG-MNL on CX first and then PR on the return trip
It's so depressing seeing airlines going the way of a321's over conventional wide bodies. The lavatories are a big issue, especially on 3+ hour flights. Really hope jetstar and qantas don't start sending then international. I love the look of the plane, just don't enjoy flying them.
especially with that legroom! No thanks! Air NZ extra legroom seats on the A321neo is ok, if Qantas is to use them to like Asia they all better be extra legroom seats!

I thought it's just me, but reading these comments on lavatory validated my thought. I'd rather ride PAL's A320 than be in their A321ceo. The lav just gets too crowded. For a 2 hour flight, it felt like the lav for the economy never went vacant! But I think their A321neos are better.

How dare you got to plant 4 and just do a short clip on it lol! Ok slightly biased since I live directly across the road from it! I haven’t been on a 321 yet, row 65? they are a big single isle bird! I though of you the other day (not in a creepy way!), where do you go for grocery shopping adventures at night with the coles at the market gone?
ah I live not far from Plant 4 too! Have to go all the way to the Coles Kurralta Park now :( I'm more a Woolies person since they closed down the market one haha, direct to boot is nice They skip the number of roles between the cabins on smaller aircraft, so it's consistent with the bigger planes
Being a bit aggressive with cabin crew as you mentioned at 10:06 is not the correct word to choose besides you must not behave with crew in aggressive way , they have service sequence mandatories MUST be applied by the company policy, be sure they are not running away from you because they will not give you from their personal pocket but please try to understand the company policy which some times not some thing you like.
Well, the service may be good if you manage to get onboard. They reschedule your flights until you cannot board. If there is any airline worse than AirAsia in Asia, it is Philippines Airlines.
Well, the flight crew are super nice and helpful but the problem lies with their terminal and ground staff. Terminal 2 is outdated and not much options for a 2hr wait for your flight, much more for a 5hr layover (I flew in July 2022 so transfer passengers were not allowed to leave the airport). I was on a transfer from SG to MEL and I got stopped at NAIA Transfer Security Check because the ground staff said my perfume (which was 100ML and got allowed through in SG and also NAIA Terminal 3 3 days prior) was flammable and cannot be brought onboard. He also said that the bottled water that the airline gave from SG to PH was not allowed to be brought up to the departure hall as it was above 100ml. He then told me that everything was okay and that there is no issue when he found out I was Filipino. What a shame, clearly trying to scam people. He probably wanted to keep the perfume for himself and throw my water so that I have to purchase at the Departure Hall again.
Jayden are all Aussies under 30’going to the Philippines this week ? I see your aircraft was smoking 😂😂😂 Philippine airlines treats the Airbus as a bus obviously

That plane seemed a bit too cramped for my liking. I would feel a bit Claustrophobic if I were flying on that plane.
it sure was cramped for me too!

Enjoy!!

Ride safe sir
thanks for watching :)

今次菲律賓航空嘅旅程點啊?
Well, the service may be good if you manage to get onboard. They reschedule your flights until you cannot board. If there is any airline worse than AirAsia in Asia, it is Philippines Airlines.
Owssss really?😂😂😂😂
Very nice ! 👍
thanks for watching!!
My personal experienced with PAL from toronto to manila and manila to toronto it was horrible experienced never again PAL is a scammer to passenger.
Philippine Airlines' A321ceos don't have any IFE screens while their A321neos have 'em
Never knew Lufthansa flew to Manila 😲
No, they dont. It’s an LH aircraft under maintenance as Manila Airport houses Lufthansa Technik Centre
LH used to have MNL flights until it was discontinued in 2008-2009. Inly the Technik Maintenance Centre remained as PR is their primary customer.
they send BA A380 here too for maintenance!
Yeah. I've seen couple of BA A380s every time I passed the Nichols Road (where NAIA / Villamor Air Base is situated) heading to Makati City or Manila.
He probably wanted to keep the perfume for himself and throw my water so that I have to purchase at the Departure Hall again.
thanks for watching joseph, I was also there in July for 6-7 hours. What a nightmare…..
3 weeks ago! Gloves and masks No thank you! Flying Emirates 😅
Emirates just removed the mask mandate like two days ago!
