Another great trip report, my husband is Filipino and we've made a few trips to Manila, much prefer Philippines Airlines to Qantas. Last trip was QF in business, food was very average, not hot towels, much better on Philippines Airlines, anyway, keep up the great reports, very enjoyable and I look forward to them

Hi Jayden, one fun fact about Philippine Airlines , is that they don’t belong to any network of airline alliances (like Oneworld, Star Alliance or Skyteam) which., in my opinion is to their detriment.
@@ambienceblizz "Hopefully" is the correct word. Airline alliances have to *invite* members not the other way round. Also consider that membership fees have to be paid and some airlines find these are too expensive.
@@ambienceblizz At least an airline (or two) is also required to sponsor an airline's potential membership as part of an application. As Alex mentions, Alliance (members) has to approach potential new members for a discussion.

Great video, Jayden! I agree the thing about the baggage rescan seemed pretty weird. Glad the flight went well overall even if the food was pretty uninspiring. The view from your hotel room was gorgeous! What a beautiful area.
I thought the PR flight though quite acceptable had a very average feel to it. KL looks to have developed significantly since I was last there, and it was good seeing you made the most of your time there! Thanks for posting Jayden.
It's such a coincidence that I'm having a flight to Australia in a week now with the same seat number and the same plane with you. 55A, Airbus 330-300.
Wow Jayden. You really are getting your air miles in. What I like about your vids is that you cover different classes of travel and mostly in economy, where the 95% of us travel. Out of interest, when do you think flight prices will fall back down to normal? It is so expensive to escape Perth right now...especially with my big family.
I went from Manila to Melbourne a few weeks ago from my holiday at the Philippines. I was orginally in Cebu, took a 1 hour flight in an A321-200 from Cebu Mactan to Manila, there took an A330-300 from Manila to Melbourne! Fantastic trip, I enjoyed it very much.
Whoa. Finally, Jayden. You've experienced the refurbished / latest PR amenities. A330 is great. Hopefully, you'll try our A350s and new B777-300ER on either direct or connecting flights. 😊👍🏾
Jayden, I love your trip report. What is your opinion on this airline's bulkhead and exit row seats in Economy? Is the Premium Economy worth the double price for these seats?
I have not tried Philippine Airlines' bulkhead or exit row so I can't give much advice. Premium probably not worth double the price. I'll pay probably 20-40% more. If you're flying from South East Asia (except for Manila) to Australia they usually have great premium economy and business fares :)
The "Filipino" option is usually a good choice, btw. The sandwich meat looks like corned beef. I grew up eating that for breakfast with rice and eggs usually or in a sandwich like you had.
That was a fantastic video Jayden, well done. You certainly enjoyed some 5 Star ⭐️ great times in my favourite city; Kuala Lumpur. Glad you enjoyed the luxurious Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur and the lovely Marini’s on 57.

Great review as always Jayden! Have been wiring for this one to come out since I have been very interested to see what you get in this flight. The seat was very basic for a refurbished seat… keep it up mate, look forward to your next one!
I’ve never flown phillipine airlines but they have cheap flights to Tokyo from melbourne at the moment and I’m considering it. I refuse to fly Jetstar 😊
@@JaydenWongJust calling it as I see it Jayden. My cat wouldn't touch that breakfast. It's a total mystery to me how given its location amongst the very best of the world's cuisine, that Filipino food is just so bad. The Americans have a lot to answer for!

The food on that flight looked less than desirable but at least they fed you. Here in the US there is no food unless you’re in first class. Nice vlog Jayden, you party monster!❤🥂✈️
As a tall dude, I can't with most airlines unless I go prestige class or something. I wish there was an airline where legroom wasn't an issue :( dropping 4-7k USD when tickets used to be 600 or so is a massive difference for the taller folks.

Do you have to take ur checked baggage after u land in Manila T2 or will they store it? Im planning to book for a trip next year and was thinking of doing a 10 hour layover to explore Manila. But dont want to be lugging my heavy luggage. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing, Philippine Airlines is more on profit than comfort for travelers, in my opinion it’s a not one of the best Asian airline, considering Filipinos love to go back home all the time to see families.I hope after this vlog they’ll improve food and services especially in economy.
I am a bit appalled by the quality of the in-flight meals. No choice for the second meal and serving beef (it does look like beef) sandwich is extremely inconsiderate considering beef is not a 'universal' meat unlike chicken and fish. The only saving grace I felt was the hot towel service, which you'd rightly pointed out that it's not given by several otjet premium carriers. 🙏
Hi Jayden ...I always enjoy watch your videos keep up the great work mate!! I hope you do a video Sydney to Manila with Cebu Pacific on a new A330neo plane...Qantas and Philippines airlines really need to lift their game especially Cebu Pacific prices is amazing as i flew with them back in July for $249 one way and they still have amazing sales every now and then. Hello Jayden, thanks for the report. I thought PAL would have provided better Y class catering on this flight. Maybe PAL considers Australia as 'regional.' PAL ceased its London service during the pandemic and it leased its Heathrow slot to BA. But even in pre-pandemic times PAL concentrated more on selling to the Filipino market in the UK.
For your meal menu option you are likely to get something like Filipino Pancit which is equivalent to a pan fried noodle in Hong Kong or something similar. My mom had that when she did the longest flight in the network soon to be my Mum and Brother on New York JFK to Manila PR 127. This aeroplane is better than their older General Electric engine A330-301s due to the Fiesta class Philippine Airlines brand for economy having a Seat back screen unlike the original versions which you need to use the main screen just like a B777-200 on Cathay Pacific 2-5-2 on economy. From what I am told by my father's mate it's that when flying International on Philippine Airlines you are subject to the rules from the Republic of the Philippines which requires mask on the airplane unlike AA DL & UA which are subjected to US rules for Mask on Aeroplanes which made them not enforced post 18 April 2022. If you are wondering what type of bread you were given it might be a dinner roll or Pandesal.

Economy class and business class always very different story. If you want to be treated like a king then pay extra. I travelled Singapore Airlines to Switzerland they also have hot towels,tv size almost the same as Philippines Airlines in economy class. I loved Philippines Airlines.
Sadly that's flying over the Pacific Ocean they are never meant for the US Canada routes that's why B777-3F6/ER are used for those Additionally the Eastern Time Zone routes Manila to Toronto and JFK use A350-900 HGW
