  • Join me onboard Philippine Airlines as I fly them from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) through Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) all the way to Guam Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport (GUM).
This trip had many positive surprises in store. I had never flown Philippine Airlines before so I did not have many expectations but they certainly exceeded any expectation.
First of all, the aircraft on the flight from Hong Kong to Manila was changed from the Airbus A321 to the Airbus A350-900 which, in Terms of Business Class, makes a world of a difference. The crews on both flights were super nice and what really got to me was the high quality of the meals. That goes both for onboard meals as well as food and drinks in the lounge at Manila Airport Terminal 1. The Mabuhay Lounge at Terminal 1 had been opened just about a month and a half before my flight and offered plenty of seating with lots of daylight, shower rooms, an extensive bar, and a large food buffet.

That lounge is very nice. Long layover, good opportunity to use their showers and change clothes.

3:35 there is a drawback to RP-C3501-RP-C3508 fleet since you are from Germany that includes the following planes D-AIVA-AIVD which were RP-C3503-3507 is that they're no match for CX B-LRx B-LQx fleets. Furthermore you have a cramped seat on them because they're always used for PR119/127 YYZ🇨🇦/JFK🇺🇲-MNL🇵🇭
Since I asked that question to a Hong Konger/Taiwanese traveler that always flies between Hong Kong and Manila their answer was this CX versions of PR RP-C3501-RP-C3508 3509 and up A35Ks RP-C9930-RP-C9938 RP-C7772-7782 B77W A333 RP-C8760-8789/A330-301 RP-C3330-3340 fleet are no match for CX B-LXx B-LRx B-LQx A359/A35Ks B-HPx A321-251N B-KPx B-KQx some B-HNx fleet B77Ws B-HLx B-LAx B-LBx former KA B-HWx B-HYx A333s. Excellent trip so far and I flew on CX🇭🇰 and PR🇵🇭 heavily which is why I know Hong Kong to Manila route. Bread roll you get a Pandesal.

We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the upgrade in the aircraft and had a positive experience with our lounge access in HKG Airport. We're glad the modern inflight entertainment system, comfortable pillow and blanket, and quality headphones added to your comfort.
Your kind words about our friendly and service-oriented crew are much appreciated. We’re happy you enjoyed the tasty meals and found the Mabuhay Lounge in NAIA Terminal 1 to your liking.
