Jadyn, you are by far the nicest airline vlogger on you tube. You always give an honest review, I used to fly, so for me, it's a trip down memory lane. I like your vlogs, you really do show the viewer the flying experience. People like to see the economy cabin. What others don't get across and you do, is that the customer service is the same in all cabins, it's the delivery of each that differs, but attentiveness, to detail as you show is the same. Thank you for such an enjoyable review, your go pro really captures the flight well. Great stuff.
Hi Simon! Thanks for watching and also for your lovely comment! I appreciate it. I use my iPhone 11 to film haha, but the wide angle lens does give out a go-pro effect :)
Another honest and thorough trip report. Quite sad on a long flight that Singapore Airlines didn't offer a proper drink and snack service after takeoff.
Absolutely right! It’s terrible - I expected a snack and wine, coke lemonade etc… but the cabin remained in darkness after takeoff and all the staff disappeared.
Not too long ago in July, I flew SQ221 from Singapore to Sydney with their A350-900, great flight, got served dinner after takeoff, it was a nice smooth flight, and then in the final 2 hours of the flight i was surprised to find out that we weren't going to get served breakfast it kinda did and didn't make sense, because yes it was only 6 in the morning when we landed, but i was expecting a breakfast service from Singapore Airlines as back in June on my SQ flight from Sydney to Singapore on the A380, we did get served 2 meals (dinner and breakfast), but at least they did have a range of snacks in the galley for those that were a bit hungry.
they do serve a meal + refreshment on selected sin-syd flights. not all. u can check it on the inflight menu flight by sq. for eg; from SIN-MEL, SQ207 and 217 have 1.5 meal services. SQ227 and SQ237 have just 1. likely due to flight timings from SIN-SYD, SQ211 and 241 have 1.5 meal services but SQ221 and 231 have just 1
They are cutting back. I also expected a meal service with wine etc after take off but, no....nothing... zero. AND the flight to MEL is 7.5 hours. Too long to sit there with no meal service until early morning..considering the departure was after midnight and EVERYTHING was closed at Changi and no where to eat and no time due to a rushed connecting flight...
Great English breakfast as usual! I loved this video, humorous, informative and your extreme cuteness - from the Singapore airport, lounge, flight and arrival in HK. But the HK Vlog is awesome as usual from anything in HK. I love the MTR and driving scenes, as well as the boats! Congrats on the scuba cert! I was certified in Oahu and I can understand what you went through.
please dont ever change your start music theme. its sooo catchy. once i hear it, i cant wait to watch your trip report. the brekky looked yum, id have gone for that choice too. your so up there with information on what you can get and where you can go having first class cards etc - even when flying economy. id be hopeless and not know a thing. loved yourr report and look forward to next weeks
I’ve flown SQ231 SIN-SYD two times. I too only got a drink and maybe(?) a snack ( this was in 2019) , I recall that the premium economy upgrade offer from SQ was much cheaper than the daytime flight on SQ212 or 232. Now I know why. I thought that because you’d be flying in Premium Economy, they would offer you some kind of light meal, but I think not now.

I flew Singapore Airlines Business class, from Singapore to Adelaide, last month. We had a meal at about 12am, just after takeoff, then no more meals, not even breakfast, before landing at 7:45am. All the airlines are cutting back. It’s not like pre Covid.
Wow interesting. Day flight is a different story. I flew SIN ADL in April, 10am departure. Got two full means, was very very well fed LOL! Thanks for watching :)
What!? You pay the business class premium and get ONE meal on a 7 plus hour flight? That's shocking. I will never book Singapore Airlines again, if they consider MEL ADL to SG worthy of only ONE meal service. Bugger them. I asked for ANYTHING to eat or drink and the attendant told me but I COULDN"T HEAR HIM over the noise of the engines. They should have a booklet of the snacks then. I got a lousy muffin and a cup of tea with NO MILK which I had to ASK for. Shocking.
The last time I did this service was 2010 but on Qantas.they served from memory Dinner and Breakfast.I was travelling in September.Yes the thought of the Breakfast at 3am is rather odd but it filled a spot,Dinner was normal time based on departure from Singapore. The odd part was connecting onto Adelaide where I had a second breakfast somewhere over rural Victoria.I had a curious look recently at the Menu on SQ279 and they only serve one a Breakfast based on the time it is in South Australia and you have to rely on Snacks from a self service bar or get something to eat before the flight from one of the food shops at Changi before the flight home
I still really like flying with Singapore Airlines. I do miss the A380. Changi Airport is amazing. A great video Jayden. Nice to see your Cousin again too.
It's actually quite disappointing to see that SQ only served 1 meal on their flight to Australia, but at least the breakfast service looks amazing, should've expect something more from the 2nd World Best Airline 2022 (according to Skytrax). Last time I flew with QF I also didn't expect that they only serve 1 dinner meal after take off and nothing before landing. On my MEL-DPS flight they also only serve the dinner straight away followed with the refreshment and nothing else. I hope SQ will put their service back like it used to be.
@@alexmcwhirter6611 not really. SIA has reduced their meal service even for SG-LHR long haul flight, economy class meal tray has only a appetizer/dessert, bun + butter, and main course.
@@Chia350 Thanks I wasn't aware. I know that some of our readers booked J class complained about the catering issue with SIN-SYD in the past. On the late overnight flight from SIN there was little if anything served until a full breakfast appeared the next morning. I asked an SQ London-based PR person in London and was informed "SQ considers Australia as a regional destination." When I mentioned the fact that SIN-SYD equates to LON-NYC in sector length I was told that it was due to yield or words to that effect. One must remember that a good number of travellers flying SIN-SYD originated (at that time) in Europe and the fares LON-SIN and LON-SYD do not reflect the extra 3,000 + miles.

I used to fly this flight a few times several years ago and you used to get a supper and continental breakfast. Now you just get this breakfast, at least there's a couple main options though.
Hi Jayden 👋. Comprehensive review, as usual 👍🏻. With your late departure I can understand the lack of a full meal but SQ should offer a small snack to those who would like a little something to eat before sleeping. Cookies, chips(crisps), nuts, etc. Also some herbal tea or decaffeinated coffee should be offered as well. As you well know, if you want decent food on your flights, you can't beat Turkish Airlines. I am so glad that you finally got certified to scuba dive. There are so many beautiful places for you to go now and film your underwater adventures. How about a "get away" to Cairns? Have a great and fun weekend. 😊
Hello John, yes of course SQ *could* do this but its Australia flights are classified as "regional" rather than long-haul. Yes I realise it's crazy seeing as some sectors equate in length to LON-NYC (which we in the UK consider a blue ribbon route).
I enjoyed and laughed greatly, Jayden. 傑登,我很享受並且笑得很開心。 Spacious lounge in Singapore. New and improved. I think you had an admirer or a stalker for your intro! 😅😅😂😂 Melbourne friends of mine have just completed 4 flights with Singapore Airlines this month and from all reports, Economy class has seriously deteriorated. On one sector not even a drink offered. Disappointing to hear SIA have lowered their standards so much. Had always been one of the very best consistently. Well done on your diving certificate.
I flew with them in May - return MEL SIN Phuket BKK was over $2000.00 and the worst service was the MEL/SIN leg. The rest was ok - but they are definitely cost cutting on service.
In perspective all transatlantic overnight flights of the same duration have two meals. Now SQ is in the black they need to up their game. They have prided themselves on exceptional service but now are dropping the ball
That Kris Flyer lounge definitely bigger than before. Was very cramped before. No meal after take-off? I got a feeling Singapore Airlines been doing some cost cutting! Last time I flew Singapore Airlines Economy class the meal was very small. I was still hungry!
Yess! I thought so! I flew with them this summer and somehow they don’t serve any appetizers with meals anymore. For breakfast service they only came with yoghurt as appetizers no more fresh fruits or some sorts 😮
The new lounge looks pretty good. The flight seemed OK ... but not even a snack after takeoff, that would put me off flying SQ. Wonder if business class were given a nice snack and a glass of bubbly after takeoff?
From what I heard SQ only serves champagne in business after takeoff when most other airlines do a pre-takeoff drinks service. Also business passengers only given choice of one meal between Singapore and Australia.
Nice trip report bro. That's so true. Hopefully they will bring back the hardcopy menu, hot towel. I would also appreciate to have a round of snack and drink service after take off. Did you visit the galley after take off? Did they set of mini snack bar in the gally?
SQ consider flights to Oz from SG a medium haul regional flight, therefore not a lot is offered, including no PE to/from BNE. Many airlines went downhill during the pandemic and unfortunately SQ was not immune.
Hi Jayden. Ah...the view in the distance of Melbourne's CBD , as you landed ❤️ I like the Singapore lounge, it looks quite spacious. I think , if I was travelling Economy , and I knew there was gonna be no late night snack service on the flight, I would have grabbed one of those sandwiches !😂 Finally !!! ...a decent size loo on a plane. !!! And in economy , too !🤣 The seat looks quite good for an economy seat, too. Thanks for a great trip review, and a tour around Hong Kong.
All this time I never knew that the seat head rest can be adjusted and inside the lavatory drawer there are some free amenities 😂 glad I found this channel, thanks Jayden
Travelled SQ last month from SIN to AKL and full dinner was served after 10.45 pm takeoff. Actually preferred they hadn't given I'd transitted from another longhaul. And sleep was a higher priority. Breakfast was much as described in your video. That said the flight is a smidge longer than to Melbourne. Given you only paid aud 892 which is pretty cheap on a competitive route like Sin to Melbourne and that the flight left at 1 am, I don't think one meal on a 7 hour flight is a big deal. SQ has clearly cut costs elsewhere though and for those of us paying higher prices on less competitive routes to/from Singapore I see that as an issue.
Singapore Airlines has a long history of providing excellent in-flight service. However, some passengers have reported that the in-flight standards of Singapore Airlines have dropped in recent years. There are a few possible reasons for this. One reason for the drop in in-flight standards may be that Singapore Airlines has been expanding its fleet of aircraft. The airline has taken delivery of a number of new aircraft in recent years, and these aircraft have different in-flight configurations than the older aircraft that Singapore Airlines used to operate. This may have led to some confusion among crew members and passengers, and it may have also led to some inconsistencies in the in-flight service. Finally, it is also possible that the drop in in-flight standards is simply a result of Singapore Airlines becoming more popular. The airline has been growing rapidly in recent years, and it is now one of the largest airlines in the world. This growth may have put a strain on the airline's resources, and it may have led to some compromises in the in-flight service. Whatever the reason, it is clear that the in-flight standards of Singapore Airlines have not been as high in recent years as they used to be. This is a disappointment for many passengers, and it is something that Singapore Airlines will need to address if it wants to maintain its reputation as one of the world's best airlines. -Google Bard-

They used to serve a hot dinner or supper after take off and a continental breakfast before landing on those flights to Oz. I would be very dissatisfied with their service today
I travelled Singapore - Melbourne a few weeks ago in business. On an overnight flight, there was only a “supper” and no breakfast, there were no hot towels, no amenity kits, no slippers, no pyjamas, and service was mediocre at best. Even the long haul business seat on the 77W look good, but it’s impractical and uncomfortable. I was very disappointed and rate Qantas’ international business much higher than SQ.
I have only tried their regional business on a day flight to Adelaide so I don't think it's fair to compare that with Qantas. But in economy class, Qantas is definitely better than Qantas in terms of amenities and food
We traveled with Sing airline in 2019 and they served only one meal for 8 hours flight. Everyone around us start whispering “ where is food”…… we were boarding at 9pm and didnt eat anything until morning - cheap breakfast. Never again with Singapore. Emirates serve 1 hot meal and 1 cold meal for only 6 hours flight.
Is this because the plane is considered to be regional? We’re booked on a Sydney to SIN flight in December - sq222 and the return is sq211 but both flights include a meal service after takeoff and then a pre-landing snack. So disappointing to see nothing served after takeoff, not even drinks (just water?)
Great video, Jayden. I"m surprised that SQ doesn't offer any food after takeoff on that flight. Was it like that pre-COVID? I'd rather eat first and sleep as much as possible instead of having to wait for breakfast. The service looked good otherwise. Congratulations on getting your diving certification!
Thanks .I don't want or expect a full dinner on a departure at that time , but they could at least offer a snack as well as a full drink selection .......

Yess! I thought so! I flew with them this summer and somehow they don’t serve any appetizers with meals anymore. For breakfast service they only came with yoghurt as appetizers no more fresh fruits or some sorts 😮
Cost cutting. Unless they improve I won't fly them again.
It does reek of cost cutting.i can understand the Perth sectors only having one meal but everywhere else from memory was two in the old days.
As Changi T2 has since opened, could enjoy SilverKris Lounge with *A G even taking economy class flight.
Great review love it ♥️
thanks!!
Love hearing the Octopus Card reader's "doot"!
🤣🤣🤣it’s good innit
The new lounge looks pretty good. The flight seemed OK ... but not even a snack after takeoff, that would put me off flying SQ. Wonder if business class were given a nice snack and a glass of bubbly after takeoff?
i’m sure in business you can request even if they don’t offer them haha. Thanks Dean!
From what I heard SQ only serves champagne in business after takeoff when most other airlines do a pre-takeoff drinks service.
Also business passengers only given choice of one meal between Singapore and Australia.
@@nightowldickson SQ must be doing a lot of cost cutting if they're avoiding the on ground taxes for serving alcohol 🤔
Nice trip report bro. That's so true. Hopefully they will bring back the hardcopy menu, hot towel. I would also appreciate to have a round of snack and drink service after take off. Did you visit the galley after take off? Did they set of mini snack bar in the gally?
I didn't visit but from what I heard SQ don't stock their galley, rather you have to ask the crew. Thanks for watching!
I had no idea that the Melburnian skyline is actually visible from Tullamarine! 😍
Yep! A bit far but buildings are tall enough to make it visible from the airport haha
It SURE is!! It's brilliant on the approach to the N/S runway when the approach is from the south, and you're on the starboard side.
It’s just nice to see SQ keep the 3-3-3 on the 777-300ER.
totally!
I believe things will change when SQ takes delivery of next generation 777.
SQ consider flights to Oz from SG a medium haul regional flight, therefore not a lot is offered, including no PE to/from BNE. Many airlines went downhill during the pandemic and unfortunately SQ was not immune.
It’s just puzzling that the first thing airlines cut to reduce cost is onboard catering.
right, like the most important thing ever ahah
Just changed my flight from Singapore Airlines to Eva Air 😊 let’s see what they can offer 😊
heard many good things about EVA too. should be great!
Loved the video as always Jayden!! The new lounge looks good as well. Need to renew my membership soon something happened to the card
thanks Koren! What card are you talking about?
The emirates ek409 was the on where i went to dubai on from melbourne
Hi Jayden.
Ah...the view in the distance of Melbourne's CBD , as you landed ❤️
I like the Singapore lounge, it looks quite spacious. I think , if I was travelling Economy , and I knew there was gonna be no late night snack service on the flight, I would have grabbed one of those sandwiches !😂
Finally !!! ...a decent size loo on a plane. !!! And in economy , too !🤣
The seat looks quite good for an economy seat, too.
Thanks for a great trip review, and a tour around Hong Kong.
Yes I would've grabbed a sandwich too but I forgot LOL. B777 always have good sized loo hehe. Thanks Heather!

Not a fan of the recent cost cutting at SQ, but all in all great review onboard SQ on the 77W :)
thanks Isaac!
Great video… loved the Hong Kong bit at the end.
Thanks for this vlog. You fly safe. What only one meal services? Wow. You have amazing day. Ciao.
All this time I never knew that the seat head rest can be adjusted and inside the lavatory drawer there are some free amenities 😂 glad I found this channel, thanks Jayden
Ahahaha glad you did watch the lavatory tour😂🤣

The glass of water as supper service is terrible 😮, I wonder if you asked for another beverage eg wine it would be offered?
Love Singapore Airlines are ultimate always..
Melbourne to Singapore - Singapore to our Regional COIMBATORE Cosmo city CJB Code Airport...
I'm going to Brazil on Latam airlines la800 and la750. I'm finally able to go there again after 7 years!

Jayden what a great flight review. Do you do a voice over when you are talking in the video?? How do you not get into Le for filming??
I do both. most of them is VoiceOver when I get home
@@JaydenWong also how do you not get introuble for filming do you hide your phone or something??
@@JaydenWong I think the voice over idea is really good. It's hard to talk and be heard over the engine noise and talking annoys some other PAX... A bit of both is excellent! Well done Jayden - I love your videos!
@@oscarwyer2771 I got yelled at for filming with my iPhone while walking to board a Jetstar flight from MEL to ADL in March - I think it's time to buy a video PEN with a hidden cam..then we can film our beloved planes!
@@michaelsmith697 what is a video pen??
That was quite a long takeoff roll for a medium haul flight. Can’t imagine the takeoff weight was anywhere close to the MTOW.
Another great new video beautiful Amazing capturing Merci
The meal has improved somewhat since May..
damn ! Can’t imagine what May would’ve looked it!
Thanks for binge watching my videos :)
@@JaydenWong You're most welcome Jayden! I enjoy your honesty and I share your love and interest of aircraft and flying ! The ONE May meal provided SIN to MEL was horrible.
They used to serve a hot dinner or supper after take off and a continental breakfast before landing on those flights to Oz. I would be very dissatisfied with their service today
Nice trip report Jayden👌. Liked
thanks Joshua!
But in economy class, Qantas is definitely better than Qantas in terms of amenities and food
this video was uploaded 45 seconds ago but these comments are from a few hours ago 😐
patrons and members have early access :)
Def drawback is no cams on the planes and they have taken off all salads from their meals... It's sad indeed!
Weird, I was on this flight recently and it was dinner only. No breakfast.
I guess you departed a bit earlier at night? My flight left at 12am :)
@@JaydenWong 10pm arriving at 8:30am lol. Looks like they keep adjusting the time of sq227.
I used to ask for Singapore Sling during my flight with SQ.
yes me too! But I was already too slinged to get my Singapore sling 🤣
@@JaydenWong Wow! Now I will remember to ask for the Singapore Sling IF I fly with them again... lol
Great review as usual. Glad the toilet had a coat hooooook. I prefer to sit on an aisle seat near the toilet on long haul flights.
Amazing video Jayden we love ur content maybe one day fly to Townsville🇦🇺🦘❤❤
one day 🤞🏻

Hi there! You may have said it before but I'm curious. I know you have supporters and air miles, how else do you finance your trips?
I earn an income from RUclips when you watch my videos and ads :)

Wow! Now at home below the waves as well as high above them. World Citizen Wong!
Ahaha about time I explore the other 71% of the earth.
@@JaydenWong Look forward to your loo tours on a submarine!
Thanks .I don't want or expect a full dinner on a departure at that time , but they could at least offer a snack as well as a full drink selection .......
snacks and drinks are available free flow upon request. its on the menu but left out in the review
@@haresh911 There was NO MENU when I flew. Just a verbal yelling over the engine noise and I couldn't hear him. They need to have a menu on the TV and you can order from there..
@@michaelsmith697 what year did you fly?
if it was anytime from 2021, there is an inflight menu tab on the IFE which u probably missed out. (you can verify this for yourself in other trip reports unless the system was down)
you can even see ur inflight menu 2 weeks before your flight to select ur preferred meal when u manage ur booking .
you must’ve had an unfortunate experience i guess
Is it a sign of downgrading meal service, or just offering passengers to have more sleep on red-eye flights prior to landing?
both😂
THE BEST PART OF THIS FLIGHT REPORT IS kohuuuuks at the lavatory, oh yeah kohuuuuuuks 😅
would be w better world if all airlines have the normal 3-3-3 on the 777 :) Really have to tell airlines are trembling a little, but hey, it's the time we live in. Do you have plans to fly on the Queen? (Korean air, Lufthansa air china) Excellent video as always!
right!! 3-3-3 is so nice on the 777. Absolutely Yes if I have the chance or come across it!
MH used to have 2 X 5 X 2 config
Best config as u do not have 2 seats access to the aisle
Only 1 seat in the center of the 5 that is with 2 seat access to the aisle. Clever of them yet maintained a 9 breast seat config
Just one meal for 9 hour flight!!! This makes Emirates the best airline, 4 meals for a 14 hour flight between Dubai and Sydney!!!
Nice to see for now Singapore Airlines has 3-3-3 seat configuration on the 777. Good call on the Nasi Lemak. I hope to try Singapore Airlines one day. Well done review.
wow great review ! it's nice to see SQ still offers 3-3-3 in their 777 along with JL. how do you rate between QR, CX and SQ flights ? I would put the order as 1) SQ,2) QR 3) CX, i dont know if you agreed ?
When o went from Sydney to Singapore and Singapore to Sydney it was two meals. It was on 2022 July 15
if it was a day flight then yeah

SQ needs to urgently re-look its meal offerings. Previously generous (which was one of their unqiue selling points); now too much of cost cutting?
How come some of the comments say 18 hours ago but you uploaded this 1 hour ago
