This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that's the way I like it!
#singaporeairlines #businessclass #tripreport
As a veteran of several 16-plus hour flights out of DXB, I hear ya when you say it feels like decades after a certain point. I am pretty much glad to disembark at my final destination. Hats off for enduring 18 hours. It is really neat that the tray table can move up and down, too. Something other carriers would do well to emulate.
Yes, love that the tray table moves up and the fact that I never feel the need to pick up a dish when eating during turbulance 😂
I flew the second longest flight with Singapore from Newark to Singapore and it was honestly the best flight I ever experienced. From amazing Book the Cook food, flight attendants using my name throughout the flight to add a personal touch, and the attentiveness and kindness of the service, it did not feel like an 18 hour flight. I didn’t want to get off when we arrived.
Thanks for sharing ✈️
If you're used to the American airlines every flight with SQ is the best....
ah how fab! I love SQ and visit these flight reviews to relive a fab experience pre Covid - LHR - SIN A380 Business class one of the most exciting flights I've ever taken - book the cook was amazing (yes, Lobster Thermidor because why not?!) - it was amazing as was every other aspect of service. Singapore Airlines - "A great way to fly" is a very true tag line!
Does the airline re-use the head phone plastic bag? That is the opinion I had when I boarded its flight to tokyo in 1998, miserly stingy. Covid-19 and does it re-use the plastic bag?
Singapore Airlines really is very special. I once flew SF -> Singapore on economy , and I had a VERY short transit to catch my SG departing flight (from Vegas). Even then, the check in crew made sure I was present in the boarding hall before they even began the boarding process! Even as I approached the front desk they already knew who I was.
Thanks for sharing ✈️
I couldn’t agree more with you. They are very VERY consistent. There never are any surprises and that actually is particularly very important for a long flight like this one. I have been in their business for their LAX-SIN route and that service was lovely. But, I must say that as a frequent traveler between India and Singapore, their service on these routes is particularly fantastic and significantly different which makes sense. As always a fantastic review Kevin. Looking forward to many more!
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Makes sense since really the only options non stop for SIN to India are AI or one of the low cost carriers.
Kevin, I was really expecting this video. There are plenty of videos about this flight on youtube. But your video is aways the most accurate ever!! Starting to watch right now!
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
I knew we will be getting a no nonsense trip report but with overload of reviews of this route I thought it could easily get jaded but the titbits in first part and views in the second part made it engaging. The Private room is uber exclusive but not uber desirable😌atleast for me.
Yeah, I could have critiqued the Private Room a lot harder (honestly, I just don’t get it…) but since it’s technically not part of the review, I left it alone lol. Thanks as always for the support 🙏🏻
The creme de la creme of how a consistent service should be, indeed they are! Nice video as always. Hopefully SQ considers operating more of their ULRs to US destinations - IAH, DFW, ORD, SAN - you name it.
I'd bank on YYZ before any of those if they can get the slots. SAN, I think you're in a bit of a daydream 😅 Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfft : Well, daydream it might be, but if JAL can, I think SQ can, too! ZIP does have SJC, China Airlines does serve Ontario (California)....so....unlikely but not impossible.
This flight is one of the 2 remaining bucket list flights I'm planning for next 2 years or so (just did the United Island Hopper flight in October, the Alaska Milk Run is the only remaining domestic flight on the list). I love Singapore as a destination, despite the weather. I was there this past spring, and took gigs and gigs worth of pics of the city, of the airport, of the Jewel (day & night, top to bottom), of ramp movements from my runway view room at the Changi Crowne Plaza, and captured some incredible afternoon golden hour shots of arrivals hanging out at Changi Beach Park. I experienced a very short taste (45 min) of that biz product this past spring from KUL back to SIN, and I know I will not have an issue with an 18 hr flight back home to the NYC metro area. It sure beats any of the many 12+ hour days flying low & slow cross-country in helicopters back when I was a crew member in the military.
Love the CP at Changi! Just wish it wasn't as expensive as the TWA Hotel at JFK! lol
Oh, man, don't get me started on the TWA Hotel... Stand alone property with no rewards program or any kind of way to transfer any kind of points for redemption. For the amount of pics I took vs. the cost of the room when I was there in June, it worked out to be about $1.00 every time I pressed the shutter button. Talk about opportunity cost...
Yes, all of that, but still worth it lol.
The A340-500....the sexiest aircraft ever made. All proportions just right :-)
Probably yes, but I'd still put my eggs in the -600 basket. For modern day aircraft though, I do think the A350-900 is easily the new proportional queen!
Such an underrated channel bro you deserve more subscribers
Appreciate that!
One of the best trip reports I’ve seen in years! Keep up the great work!!!🎉
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Loving your reviews, just keep getting better and better. Thank you for your detailed, honest, and comprehensive review. Bravo 🎉
Appreciate that!
Loved the views at the end of the vid. What an amazingly clear day and you're so fortunate to get clear windows too. Also, the last video with the not so great food, is probably an anomaly as I've flown suites twice and both were pretty awesome. Still inexcusable though, for SQ suites.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
such a beautiful review!!!! Well placed and praised!
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
This was an excellent review, very thorough in an entertaining and thoughtful way. Will certainly be back for your next video
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Another fantastic review Kevin. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and your humour, well, it's dry as a bone (I love it). I did find at times though, that during your review your speech seemed to be getting quicker, and I had trouble following along at times. I just thought I'd mention it.
Noted! Thanks for watching 🩴
As a 90s kid, I remember those ribbon ice cream desserts like it was yesterday. 😄Excellent flight report!
I remember the commercial. Family around the table enjoying, ending with a frame on the black & white Breyers box haha.
Yes very Baskin Robins cake we had at birthdays as a kid.
Great video, Kevin! You make me excited for my trip. I scheduled to fly out in mid December from JFK-SIN-SGN on A350-900.
Oh, stalking my bases I see 😅 (jk). Enjoy your trip 🗺️
Excellent informative on SQ . coverage was superb informing on the in flight facilities only one can expect in Kevin Vlogs 👍👍🌹🌹
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
thank you Kevin for your review! I hope to experience this route sometime too. (and I hope SQ has considered expanding into Toronto too!)
I still can’t get over the fact that Qatar doesn’t fly to YYZ (just found out last week!) haha. Thanks for watching 🩴
Perhaps the most anticipated video.
Thanks for watching 🩴
Enjoyed this one thanks, and particularly the sprinklings of humour throughout...
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching 🩴
You deserve subscribers in millions. Hope the channel grows astronomically. Thanks for your efforts. Great video as usual.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Yay to satay service! I have the same pet peeve with my elbow constantly clicking either the tray table or the cubby lid next to it.
Glad I'm not the only one! Thanks for watching 🩴
I need to go back and watch ALL your reviews as you have quickly become my favorite reviewer. I have a flight on SQ out of Singapore to KIX next year. I'll make sure to suprise my wife with the Lobster Thermador. She loves lobster! Thanks!
Well if you start now and watch two per day, you'll be all caught up by summer! 😂 Serioulsy though, thanks very much!
Just formidable video, plain and simple extraordinary exposition of an in- flight experience! Your points on SQ bread … Priceless😅. Penhaligon I skipped a heartbeat… the broche the journey hawaianas presence!!!
Abrazo Leon!! Peace of I
I don't know why they cling so desperately to their bread selections! haha. Thanks as always for your support 🙏

I expected this video and I am very excited to see this video ❤❤❤❤... Hope you had a very nice experience .. And I also suggest you other type of content..Visit all 7 continents in first class and review it all
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
every Aussie seeing the ‘Ribbon Ice cream’ oooh they serve Vienetta! 😂
THAT'S what it was called! I couldn't for the life of me think of the name- was the same name in the US. Also quite ironic that I'm replying while at the airport in Vienna haha.
Another great video! I’ve sat in that same seat on that same plane. Then a non bulkhead on the way back. And let me tell you. The bulkhead seat is worth fighting for. Thanks for the content.
Sure is! Thanks for watching 🩴
I have flown on the Qatar flight AKL - Doha. In economy class! Seventeen hours and a real marathon. I can’t recommend it but in those days it was AKL - London Heathrow for $1400NZ return and as you know international flights from NZL are very expensive. Enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing.
$1400NZD is like $18 "Global Flying Dollars"! haha That really is a cheap fare! Thanks for watching 🩴
That segment on other commercial airlines' longest routes was a nice to include in the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
very nice review. hoping to fly this route one day!
It's worth it! Thanks for watching 🩴
lovely views and review
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
I've done Singapore to LAX, 14 hours 50 minutes. I distinctly remember the captain saying to us "Flying time today is approximately 14-50" - I then started to question how I would survive such a trip. Thankfully I chose the aisle seat, that was a saving grace. Also, the take-off was pretty special, the pilots needed to use a lot of extra power to get the plane into the sky. The aircraft used every bit of the 4km runway.
Not sure I could survive that in Economy lol. Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfft I felt quite refreshed after the flight, given the distance I had just travelled. It was something I would definitely do again.
Thanks for the post. Good to see SQ has the amenity kit for this sector. During the days i flew them on the A340 all business class to ERW, there were none. 😊
Thanks for watching 🩴
Great video as usual. Didn’t see the Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra on the list of upcoming videos but remember seeing a picture of it in your feed?
Still coming up. I don't always post in exact order. Thanks for watching 🩴
Awesome vid Kevin! I’m flying the sq business class LAX > SIN next year on the 777. Thanks for sharing you experience.
Did you pick through Tokyo becuase you prefer the 777?
@@tfft I must admit, I picked it because (a) the A350 option wasn’t available on points and the 777 is similar/larger, and (b) the “via tokyo” option had a better departure time from LAX for us. Did I know when booking it was “via Tokyo”? ……let’s just say I now know the difference between “direct” vs “nonstop”
I just recently found your videos and they are fantastic. I didn't realize that you actually wore flip flops, it's kinda ick LOL
Uh, well we all have two feet. Should I wear gloves and a veil as well? lol
Flipflops are an abomination and belong on a beach only. As a (previous) Commercial Pilot I used to cringe to see such footware, emergency evacuation would place wearers at a distinct disadvantage
The “previous” explains a lot more about your comment than you think it does.
Flying SQ23 and SQ24 on business this February! Thanks for your vlogs…❤
Enjoy your trip 🗺️
great and honest review
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Another great trip report, Kevin. I don't think I could go for 18 hours. Longest I've been is 13+ hours DXB to MEL on Emirates A380 in business class.
To be fair, I wouldn't want to do this flight in either of EK's business class. Having the extra room (width), bulkhead or not, when seated makes all the difference for this flight. Thanks for watching 🩴
Amazing❤
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Yes Coffee ☕... A must for me.
Thanks for watching 🩴
Brilliant!!! 20:47 I'm never going to view 'normal' lie flat seat in the same way again 🤣🍑
These are the thoughts you start to have towards the end of a 4th consecutive flight haha. Thanks for watching 🩴
Flew this route a week ago today…albeit in PE though in one of the six singles seats. It was quite bearable with the extra space but I do prefer sleeping upright so seldom take advantage of the flat bed when flying in business or first. Third time on this route/flight, the fourth was on the A380 with the FRA stop earlier this year. BTW these two returns (including onward to CGK and BKK) got me AS Gold/OW Sapphire for about $3,000 including the six short haul AS flights required.
AS's botched rollout of JX inventory was the last straw for me with them. I cashed out all of my miles and will never credit to them again. Have never seen a platform go downhill quite so quickly. That said, I too also almost never lie flat on flights (unless APEX suites) so I've been wanting to try out PE on an ULH route. My only concern with the single seats (which I would definitly fight for haha) are not having anythign to lean on lol.
@@tfftAS is my OW backup (I’m BA Gold) and gets me AA domestic/transborder upgrades and still earns 100% bonus so good for some sweet spot redemptions (intra-Asia business). Also have STARGold for life with AC but putting SQ flights into AS was more valuable to me. And no bad experiences with AS program.
I'm with you guys, I just recline to a comfortable Laz-E-Boy angle and I'm out.
Now there’s an 18 hour flight I could do!! 🎉 And the price you paid is unbelievable. Great vlog as always 😊
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
I love the sq old model business class. It might be one of the best business class seat ever
The previous generations of this seat you mean? 2007 and 2013 versions, I believe...
@@tfft yep
3:05 Okay this is actually one of the few gripes I have with SQ, they're seemingly allergic to sunlight! It's not just the lounge either, most of their business class seats are seemingly designed to cocoon you, and block the windows. You'd be lucky to have two windows to open up. Now, I'm a huge fan of their KrisWorld system, it's very easy to figure out. But sometimes the best entertainment is a good view, and the best way to get it in Business Class seems to be to fly their 737s.
Hmm... as someone who obsessively watches out the window for hours at a time on some flights, I've never noticed SQ business class seats being any more limiting than others on the market in this regard.
nice amount of background information on history of SQ flights to US and their plane configurations !
Appreciate that!
Thank you I was trying to find so hard whether the 10A seating was a bulkhead or not. The regular business seats footwell is so tiny
I feel your pain. Before the first time I booked it there was only one (good) photo of that seat online. Enjoy your trip 🗺️
I'm taking that flight in the other direction in November, in Premium (unless improbably I can snag an upgrade), and I'm looking forward to it (I think). If anyone can make it bearable SQ can. Thanks for the consistent quality (and informativeness) of your videos.
Enjoy your trip 🗺️
Your content is so addictive
Thanks very much 🙏🏻

28:13, I know what it is; From HND to JFK on All Nippon Airways in The Suite!
This style of presentation is very refreshimg. You can tell this is an authentic review untainted by any biases that anyone getting special treatment or sponsorship would have even if they tried not to come across with any (criticism by anyone who were given privileges come across like the spoiled whining of petulant child). Well done.
Ps: love the tongue in cheek humor and snarkiness
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Quick random comments comparing this flight to my experience on the EWR-SIN route this past August. Travelling in business, we got no amenity kit of any kind in either direction. Also, the food on Kevin's flight looks clearly better than the food on my flight, which was overall good for airplane food but not quite up the standard we had hoped for (even for the flight out of SIN). Wonder if a difference in the JFK and EWR routes, or perhaps just luck of the draw. Also, side note to those considering the NYC-SIN flights - the SQ website and app where you can pick meals in advance strongly indicates that there are three meals service. As Kevin indicates, there are two actual services, and you can also order off an inflight menu some other items starting sometime mid-flight. Don't do what I did as an SQ newbie, and wait patiently for the third service to arrive, as it never did. Did not have any flight attendant asking about whether they could bring anything either. At least on my flights, it turned out that you had to affirmatively reach out and place an order.
Hi..You can tell how many meal services based on the menu card you receive. There's a portion whereby you can request at any point of time.
On SQ's website when using Book the Cook for the JFK or EWR flights, the meals are titled: "Lunch/Dinner", "a la Carte", and "Refershment"... you can choose meals in advance for the first two. For the Refreshment service the default is the menu selections unless you wanted to order a specialty meal.
That being said, up until 75 minutes before landing, you could have ordered anything off of the menu and they would have prepared it for you if it was available.
Catering out of US airports leaves a lot to be desired. If you Book The Cook, choose the Western option
If you are still in NYC blink twice....ok...now...meet at Grand Central Terminal under the clock on Saturday November 25 at noon...I'll be wearing a red Ferrari F1 hat....confirm. No video, no pictures, no selfies...just want to say we love your work.
Definitely doesn't sound like the opening scene of a horror film 😂... But I appreciate the sentiment! haha
Hahaha...safe travels and keep doing what you do. Happy holidays.@@tfft
With a long flight and a heavy flight close to MTOW, the climb has to be shallow, I noticed on very heavy flights not just long hauls; the climb will be shallow because you are closer to a stall speed if you pull up to fast.
Thanks for watching 🩴
❤❤ great lounge
Sure is!
As a taller side-sleeper I much prefer the offset foot well. Singapore's A350 that does MEL to Singapore has the footwell directly in line with the seat and I had a restless night's sleep whereas their 777 I flew on the return trip had the offset footwell and I slept like a baby
Yeah, It boggles my mind why SQ sends their regional aircraft to the likes of MEL, ADL and NRT. But that said, there usually is another aircraft type available as you had the 777. Thanks for watching 🩴
I have been to spore long time ago.
At that time i used dpore aline.

I know the "15 hour" feeling all too well, although I usually get it at around 8 hours on a 11 hour flight. Business class sure will help. Thanks for the video.
Mine kicks in typically around 11-12, even in F. I just want off so now I book flights with stop over that are truly ULH destinations. I enjoy the break, walking, getting a shower etc
I'll say my longest F segment was a bit over 13 hours and I would have happily added another 7 lol.
Wow, that's a whopping good deal for a long haul in Business! Also worth getting all those bonus miles, for that price.

A breakfast option on the refreshment menu is needed and the ULR really could use another lav or two. Seemed like everytime I needed to hit the loo there was always a wait.
Noodle soup is breakfast for most of Asia 😉
@@tfft Aye but when it's flying to EWR/JFK a good portion of the pax are Western and might appreciate a traditional option with eggs, etc
Thanks Kevin. Question for you, if you know, on how the industry (or at least SQ) calculates the "longest flight in the world" title. Flew EWR-SIN round-trip this summer, and have been really curious about the following. Is the distance for this flight (and any flight really) calculated based on the shortest line between the two airports in question, or does it account for the actual route that the plane will take, which is always going to be somewhat longer than the shortest line given air traffic lanes, takeoff and landing flights patterns and approaches, etc.? In any case, I had assume that the JFK flight was longer than the EWR flight due to JFK being slightly further south than EWR, and that making a bit of difference when flying a polar/great circle based route. But then my EWR to SIN flight went east over the Atlantic, Europe, etc., and then the SIN to EWR return also went east, this time over the Pacific. Presumably due to wind patterns saving time and fuel, but absent a miracle of geography, one of those flights had to be longer than the other. And as such, wondering how the longer leg stacks (whichever one it was) up against the JKF flight in terms of longest flights. Curious as to your thoughts on this situation.
99% calculate based on GC Map distance, myself included. The precise distance flown is not a DP that is available to most people. On any given day, the EWR service could surely be longer than the JFK, heck if you put it in a holding pattern for long enough, the LAX flight could be longer than JFK too. So, ideal GC distance is used.
so goood

Hi. Thanks for sharing. I just bought plane ticket business class on Singapore airlines on May 2024 from LAX to Sing and back for over $6K. You mentioned in the video about a link at the end of the video how to get tickets the same price as you. Well I couldn’t find the link.
I think you may be mistaken about what the link I mentioned was for. I never suggest there are links to specific fares since they are dynamic and change constantly.
In the video I mentioned links to the trip report before this, COMO hotels, older SQ videos and my Patreon. Nothing about links to a fare.
Great video! Could you please indicate what kind of camera you are using?
All of my videos are filmed with iPhones.
I took exactly seat, 10A, on SQ23 2 years back (SQ23/24) and took premium economy SQ21/22 last month. I missed SQ business class. Hopefully I have saved miles enough to get bussiness class next time. However, I prefer time schedule on SQ21/22 than SQ23/24.
Thanks for sharing ✈️
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. Wish you were either my boyfriend or private travel agent. You get the best deals ever! lol
😅 Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Super informative vlog. My question is if I fly on first class on SQ from Delhi to Singapore and then on their business class from Singapore to JFK, can I use first class lounge or do I have to use their business class lounge at Singapore airport? Can you confirm? Thanks.
I talked about that very specifically in the video when visting the Private Room 😅
Very very nice sir

Bring it on and excellent trip report. If you ask a Filipino traveler that has done both PR127/126 should have been at 8:49 and SQ23/24 Manila connecting flight SQ910 2nd longest flight SQ21/22 SQ918 to MNL they would actually end up choosing the Singapore Airlines one due to it having a better service.
The same ULR that does SQ23/24 21/22 does fly to the West Coast SFO SQ33/34 LAX SQ37/38. The lowest you can get for premium economy is $863 for both SQ23/21 provided you have a connecting flight to Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport. I'm wondering what Star Alliance frequent mileage program you used here. My guess is United Airlines mileageplus or Air Canada Aeroplan which actually permits access to a United Airlines Lounge domestic US Travel. Same way as how the predecessor models A340-600 and A340-500 have a very heavy takeoffs out of New York JFK/EWR towards Singapore and Hong Kong
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Would love to experience that flight once on SQ business class. I hope in 2025 🎉
Hope you can!
What date was this travel? I traveled SQ24 SIN to JFK business class just a few days ago on the 21st Nov. I was in seat 25K. It was an amazing flight and the crew was awesome too. And I had the exact same thought but the tray table popping out accidentally because that’s where my hand naturally rests

Happy to watch another great flight review of one of world's best airline! One question, how did you access the first class lounge while you're in the business class on next flight? Thank you.
before this flight he was in first class in think
Yeah, pretty sure I mentioned that in the opening sequence. I arrived from a F segment.
SQ cabin crews are indeed unbeatably the best, unlike any other airlines that claiming to be one of the best out there just to feed their social media platform. Flew this type AMS - CGK via SIN 3 years ago. However, the non-bulkhead seats have tiny leg space when sleeping.
Flew a ULR from Amsterdam? I think it must have been a standard A350. Thanks for watching 🩴
I like the boarding card you show in your movie. How do you make that?
Good ol' Keynote.
WOW! Great video, as always! By the way, can you suggest me the tripod, that you are using for filming those takeoffs and landings? Not even holding camera in your hands (sticky tripod). Thank you!
It is a modified GoPro suction mount with 4-5 other pieces to make it suitable for my uses.
But by chance, the shots in this video were all hand held.
@@tfft ok, thanks
Amazing price for SQ business! Wow. Normally they cost a mint especially from Australia.
I saw someone post an itinerary in a group I'm in a couple days ago. Was ADL-SYD-DFW in Premium Economy. For 2 people it was $10600AUD and they were asking if it was a decent deal. Honestly, the fares out of Aus are absolutely criminal.
Give up On the Bread.. that's a Good want Kev. 😂
I hope they hear me lol

33 Minutes to 30k ft!
You really need to cut back on the Chicken Tikka Masala Kev!
Booooo ya!
😅
Small correction: the previously used A340-500 held a maximum of 175t of fuel (which equates to the mentioned ~220tsd liters with standard density). That’s however not what the aircraft burned through for the trip. Even if you filled the tanks to the brim, you always account for at least fuel to divert to an alternate and a final reserve which under normal circumstances is not touched. Meaning, upon landing you always have some fuel left over. Just thought I’d mention that as you really seem to value accuracy in all your reviews 😅
Very interesting, thanks for sharing that!
I agree. SQ biz has the nicest pillow

I take this flight a lot, sorry Kevin I am not a fan the cubby hole for your feet and the flip down seat thing…I like a power seat for up/down, especially on flights over 18 hrs! Long list of other things SQ is so far behind on Biz Class vs all other Asian/ME carriers, but SQ will never change. Love your channel ❤
No need to apology to me haha. We all have our own preferences! Thanks for watching 🩴
I guess after that awful SQ First Class experience you had (and I do agree that product is weak). I guess I’m now thinking about your videos as “what you feel most people would feel” not what you feel…I just don’t think most people feel that a 1-foot cubby hole for your feet and sleeping on an angle for 18-20 hrs on the SIN-JFK flight is loved/preferred by 51% of the people…15% tops! 😮
There are a few more titbits in the subtitles (English) than the commentary😅
You should have seen it before I took most of the over script out haha. Thanks for watching 🩴
SQ’s private room menu is not a patch on the QF’s First Singapore lounge or the Qatar all in 1 lounge. Their inflight food is so good so this limited menu is odd.
Thanks for watching 🩴
18:20:47 on 11/22 JFK-SIN in Premium Economy. 19:37:31 in May, hit massive headwinds over Pakistan and India. Pilot said fuel was running low. Screenshotted the flight aware.
