Honestly Istanbul Airport is wonderful with good food, spacious environment & services. I think TK has the best onboard catering for economy class. Since TK is the only airline operating direct flight between Istanbul & KL, the demand has risen & from 1/10/22, frequency as been increased to 10 x a week.
those 2 meals looked delish. Turkish Airlines to give Economy class that amenities bag.. is unheard of these days. well done . enjoy time with your parents :)
A really comprehensive review of Turkish Airlines Jayden. This is an airline I`ve never flown with, but the reviews are somewhat mixed in terms of service and cabin crew. The one consistently good feature of the airline is the catering. The airline has a 15-year contract with DO and CO to provide the catering which explains the high standards it maintains.
Great video, Jayden! It is so nice to see the great hard and soft products in economy. As you mentioned, most airlines have really cutback on their offerings especially in economy. Hawaii is a great place to visit, but very expensive to get to and also very expensive once you’re there. However, it is a gorgeous place to be. Safe travels! And nice mask by the way. 😉
I flew TK to Germany and HKG back in 2013. Back then the cabin crew really liked playing with the rainbow lighting options for the cabin during the meal service. This meant that throughout the meals the color of my food rotated through the ambient cabin light show. Was a but unappetizing. They also served the exact same economy class dinner between the US and Turkey, between Turkey and Germany, and between Turkey and HKG.
A nice video review, as always; One comment about the TK Lounge; a large departure wave to Asia is happening after midnight from Istanbul; The lounge, nonetheless, is shutting down all its kitchens around 23:00, so pax can only have this packaged finger food; I am not very impressed by that lounge
Thanks for filming the trip report. At the end of June or the beginning of July, I am flying Turkish airlines from Istanbul to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on a Boeing 777-300ER, the same aircraft type that you flew. This time, my final destination is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to revisit my hometown.

BTW, love your personal commentary on not feeling like having vegetables...you're always good for a chuckle! 😁😁Very interesting there was a study done regarding 9 abreast vs. 10 abreast seating on the 777; I'd imagine the seats are more narrow with 10 abreast, leading to a more cramped feeling. yes haha must be the same caterer for the lounge and onboard. I can definitely relate to the study, 9-abreast looks better, more spacious and more welcoming, and it definitely feels nicer when you sit down!

Good on TK to serve 2 full meals on a 10-hour flight, I know some airlines who'll just serve a full meal after takeoff and then a light refreshment before landing...
Hi Jayden, in regards to your comment on 2 airlines in the same country code sharing the same flight, another example is China Southern and China Eastern are code sharing the same flight on Qantas between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Also Sydney - Auckland
Smart guy. I usually stay sober from the UK to the Philippines, learned that lesson the first time and just felt sick from Abu Dhabi onwards! Rather just enjoy the experience ☺️

Yes good advice from Jayden. But note that the flight times are several hours longer via N Asia because of Russian overflying ban. I mean JL and NH now must route HND-LHR via Alaska.
@@JaydenWong Yes it's causing a big problem for AY as its Asian routes were developed using Russian airspace. Its schedules have been reduced as a result. As for routings I am not sure about AY (because HEL is located so far North) but when JL/NH fly to London they normally route HND-LHR via Alaska but then return LHR-HND using a southerly route via Kazakhstan and then across mainland China to Tokyo. BA resumes LHR-HND in November.

True if it's a 24/7 lounge catered for overnight transits that's ok, but if there are still flights leaving than it's not good enough

nah I just again it was JJS so it should have new economy seats. Business is all the same still I believe
