There is no other aviation vlogger who is as thorough, concise, entertaining, equitable and impartial as you. I love how you got the free upgrade (even though you earned it imho) and were so excited. I loved the chill lounge scene too. Turkish Airlines does have amazing "soft" amenities, as you so cleverly said. If / when they upgrade their cabins they will be very competitive. Those caves look amazing! I have not heard about them before. Thanks for making that climb to share with us. So nice to see an external camera on an older 777.

Great video, Jayden! The lounge looked amazing. Also, the service on the flight seemed pretty incredible. I'm happy you and 6'4" were able to snag the free upgrades. If Turkish updated their hard product, I think they could be really competitive. I hate it when airplanes don't have the personal air noodles and get too warm. It can be really uncomfortable. The caves in KL looked really amazing. I'm impressed you were able to climb all those stairs after a long haul flight without good sleep!

TK lounge has very good food. I remember their lounge at the old airport has a table with a very wide selection of olives. They didn’t have this at the new airport.
One thing that I think this airport should consider is to reinstate Fast Track for passengers on all star alliance flights. Not sure when they only limit to TK passengers, but when I passed through IST in 2023, the Fast Track was still available for other airlines.

Lounge food looked really good and interesting. I remember that staircase in KL. I found coming down worse than going up 😅
YES!! The steps were too tiny, 6'4 and I found it really hard getting down, I got down side ways 🤣

in my memory, twice. Also a few times to premium economy but economy class service, and on Cathay first class but business service (HKGSYD)
First time was Qantas QF117 Sydney to Hong Kong. From economy to business. And this time from Istanbul to KL also economy to business :) So lucky that both times were long haul flights.
Yeah I enjoyed watching the first class “upgrade” on Cathay and I didn’t know that you could get that upgrade

Another great trip report. I've always heard good things about Turkish airlines business class service more importantly the presentation, and always nice to get a free upgrade. 6'4" fish looked rather dry. Weren't you excited about two coat hooooks on board! KL looked amazing as usual!

now that you mention they keep warm the cabin, happen to me also and make me feels suffocate. We don't know the reason they do it but I agree with you they have good soft product while they hard product so-so :)

Great flight report as usual mate! Not a fan of the 3 seats in the middle in 2-3-2 business configurations when some premium economy is just 1 seat more at 2-4-2... but all good when free upgrade!!!

Turkish really seems to be pushing ahead with those little extras other airlines ie Qantas do not care about
Turkish now fly from Melbourne via Singapore to a gateway of destinations so this has helped to make an important decision weather to use TK to Poland
I would love to try Turkish on Singapore-Melbourne soon. Definitely better than Qantas A330 and Emirates 777 hahaha

Great trip report Jayden, I’ll have to give Turkish J class a try. Why was the Hilton so cheap in KUL?
My theory
1. Malaysia is not an expensive country
2. That particular hotel wasn’t in the best spot in the city hence cheaper than other Hilton properties nearby. Also limited amenities in that hotel
3. Competition, compared to other South/South East Asian countries, KL has lots of hotels so they have to keep prices relatively low
4. Low accommodation tax compared to Singapore and the US.
I’m in India now, the Hilton properties here are insanely cheap compared to other countries too but not as cheap as the one in KL, the one I’m in now does however have a nice pool overlooking Mandovi River in Goa. The pool is like an attraction by itself :)

0:51, That's the case for me in terminal 3 in Manila when I flew out last August, they check your passport and boarding pass and yeah it's annoying. I don't know why they have to do that, before entering and checking in the counter.
It's great you got the upgrades - but the agent did the right thig - you asked to pay.. or at least how much it might be, so you weren't just hoping for the freebie - that's all the dufference!
Pity about that pretty old dire J config though - but no doubt that extra capacity helped you sit there - and you were next to your partner still whuch is great.

I paid CAD$10.000 fpr two business class tickets from Vancouver to Istanbal. The service was extremely poor and the crew members were unfriendly.

Great video. Saw the Batu Caves after there must have been a celebration the night before (we didnt know this was going to happen). The place had rubbish everywhere and the monkeys were scary. Very disappointed.

hopefully one day you end up on a overbooked flight and they bumped you to the front. Pro tip: have a frequent flyer account with them. Even base members can get upgraded! Happens a lot on Cathay :)

Hi Jayden, here is a recommendation. Try flying Emirates A380 first class. Trust me it's good!
Another great review! I'm flying this aircraft from Singapore in July, but travelling solo. How easy is it to step over your neighbour if they're sleeping? I want to book a window seat for views, but don't like the idea of waking someone every time I go to the toilet or stretch my legs.
It honestly was quite easy. It's a big open space so literally just a big step. It's more difficult on Fiji A330 because the rows are closer to each other.

Really good trip and I wish there are Airlines in East Asia that can offer this type of service that includes their flights to MNL🇵🇭. I have a question for you Jayden how long is The Layover from your last flight to this one? If I do EWR-MNL via Istanbul there is a lengthy 8-10 hour layover between the two flights.

@JaydenWong thank you for the answer in fact I've flown a 2-3-2 business class layout before what happens if you are a family the whole row is yours. On Korean Air my mum and Baby Brother was across from me Korean businessmen where the Middle seat and Aisle brother and father were either the aisle in window across from where I am sitting or in front off my row
They have not updated the 777 fleetbut their a350s and 787s have a totally different product onboard. Great vid though.

I think it is an offence to wear Qantas pjs onboard a Turkish flight.
As for the seats, they're everything a premium economy experience should be and in no way can they be considered business class in 2024.

Upgraded!!! Yes awesome! I have NVR flown Turkish but after this video I don't think I would ...generally speaking if I can I would rather fly Asian carriers esp in business class...but hey it's free no complaints there 😂❤❤

Food: SQ has BTC, TK has the chefs and unique experience
Seats: SQ wider and more private. TK 2-3-2.
TK if I fly with 6’4. SQ if I’m alone haha

Never again. I was in Turkish business from Riyadh to Istanbul when I needed to go to the bathroom. I asked the FA and she pointed to front one. I hesitated because I was worried it’s occupied. The first officer came out to accuse me of spying on him!!!!! He kept shouting for a few minutes.
They dont have Chefs onboard! They are FA. You really think they have kitchens on the planes? Its all pre-made and heated in a microwave.
They’re not FA, they don’t perform FA roles. Not *everything* is pre-made. Eggs for example are freshly cooked on some planes for business and first class.

Wait, most of Asia is ahead of Europe/the Eurasian boundary and the Americas, so even if Jayden's times were wrong Istanbul simply cannot be ahead of Kuala Lumpur.
I paid CAD$5000 for a return business class ticket from Vancouver to Istanbul. I am a senior Asian woman and the way the crew members treated me was extremely poor. They only gave me cheese penne for dinner because the fish in the main memu was out of stock. I hate cheese and penne and was left hungry for most of the trip. They did not care. Someone occupied my seat and I have to fight to get back my window seat, the t able was bnroken and no one cares. I will not fly Turkish Airlines for the rest of my life. The business class of Air Canada, Japan Airlines, Eva Airlines, China Airlines, IcelandAirlines, Singapore Airlines are much much better then Turkist Airlines.
If only their customer support was not horrendous. Used to be a much better airlines few years ago. Really gone down the drain in recent years. I'm talking about business class.

The food didn't look amazing, I think i've heard years of hype about TK's inflight catering and this just looked a bit average really... great seeing you up the front tho!!
