The early suits were so creative and innovative, they actually made you believe it was possible with that level of tech. We've seen over a decade of progress, so it doesn't feel as farfetched. We've seen him try and fail so many times on his improvements.

The later suits are adopted to nano technology, logically it’s faster and stronger to suit up and protect tony, you really don’t want to use too much time to and all the time to suit up when you up against enemy like thanos

I agree, I think the Infinity War and Endgame tech would have been distractingly fake if it was the first time we saw an Iron Man suit.
The early suits that had limitations, or didn't work combined with seeing his tech improve in each movie made his first suit up in Infinity War just feel like "oh, that's his new suit? That's awesome".
For all it's faults I loved the house party scene in Iron Man 3 where it showed all the models he had come up with based on some idea.

I commented before the IW scenes played. I kinda forgot how crazy his suit was in that one. The pop out flying weapons, the rocket powered punch fists, the anchoring boot stuff, I think it would have been overwhelming in almost any other movie.
It feels like the suit just magically transforms into whatever he needs without him even having to give instructions.
But after his suits going from needing a giant contraption that had to bolt him in, to a suitcase, to individual pieces that could fly to wherever he is, etc and the AI in civil war analyzing Cap's fighting style and responding, it isn't distracting when you watch IW.
As great as the character arcs and development have been, the world building and evolution have been awesome.
Anytime they have new tech in the movies it isn't so overwhelming that you question it.
(Eh, I guess that isn't entirely true. Even though Winter Soldier was one of my favorites they did have some crazy stuff that hadn't been used before or again. The mission impossible face hologram thing and Nick Fury's lightsaber were cool and would have come in handy but were never seen again.)

A lot of shows could learn from how they started iron man out as ultra-realistic (for the most part) and evolved until it bacame VERY sci-fi, but people like it because they just kept easing their way further. If they made a movie with something like the bleeding edge armor from the start I doubt people would have liked it as much. There was so much evolution in both Tony's character and the tech as well... I love it :)

I remember he once mentioned that the suit can process and recycle urine into drinking water, so at least peeing is covered. Still, even if you could "go" in it, a suit like that would only be useful for short-term use, not around-the-world flights like Tony does, which would take hours even at supersonic speeds. Then again, his suit defies basic laws of physics, so who knows? It's great fun, anyway.

What I love about the Mark V suit up is details, the movie doesn't need to explicitly tell you that this particular Iron-man suit, as impressive as it is, is just a portable weaker version of his other suits. You can see it for how thin the armor platings are from his transformation, to the weaker sounds of his repulsors firing, and even his simple HUD within his helmet compared to his other earlier and late suits!

I love the genuine evolution of Tony's suits. First a suit-up takes several minutes and a lot of heavy machinery, then he figured out how to make a compact portable version for in-field suit-ups, then he developed an automated deployment and suit-up system, then he made a modular design for both speed and flexibility, then he focused on streamlining, then he went to nanotech.
It's so satisfying seeing how his armor genuinely evolved as it did. It truly felt like Tony's armor improved as he improved.

You can see in this collection the theme that Stark has taken in the overall improvement on the suit. First armor were really big plates of armor, although with a lot of tech on it. Then he started to automate the armor deploy process with self deploy, then separation of components and those components to move to Tony location, culmating in the iron man 3 designs. After that it was miniturization. After seeing that having a lot of armors flying around was not a good idea and that he really was the Iron man, design was more on allowing him to always have a suit with him. Thus the nano machine approach used.

Agreed. Personally, my favorite ones are the Mark 42 era/Victoria. The remote mechanical suit ups, and replaceable parts look so cool and satisfying. Nanotech is cool and all, but it doesn't have that same "oomph" that the "heavy" suits had. The nanotech hit hard, but the fluid-like suit up made it look like it was weaker somehow. The solid plates folding into place just looks better imo.

The most amazing thing is being able to see every suit he built from mark 1 and so on. The earlier suits you see the time he takes to get into it completely, the amount of parts needed that got together to make up the suit. Just seeing how much small details needed to piece together a masterpiece is amazing. But the best part of it all is being able to see the genius mind of the character tony stark as every suit after mark 1 was able to show how much of a genius he is by slowly simplifying how he got into the suit. All the way up to the nanotech suit. Being able to witness the Tony stark character show of his genius brain over time and every single time he amazes us with every single suit up.

Suitcase suit is still the best suit. I love its practicality, not only for it being the first suit that didn't require a whole suite of robot arms to put it on and take it off, but cause it's probably also useable as an actual suitcase. Probably doesn't hold very much, but surely you can fit a few outfits in there. It's perfect for those scenarios where you don't need a suit, but want to have one with you juuuuust in case.

    • @thefoxygamer1536
      @thefoxygamer1536 3 года назад +8

Love most of these suit-up scenes, particularly the ones that pay closer attention to individual pieces strapping on to Tony. Didn't really like the nanotech suit-up as much, but as mentioned below, it was the natural progression. One thing I DO like about that suit is that Tony's able to redirect the nanites that make up the suit according to his need, such as when he wants to punch Thanos in the face... lol
