the nanotech suit up is great and all. it really shows how far tony’s suits have come. but it’s fun watching the parts of the older versions click together to form an entire suit it’s so satisfying
What's so unique about Tony's suits is how people fail to realize that each was an improvement on his combat capabilities. If Tony had the MK 85 during any other movie other than endgame, he would be able to solo not only the villains but could've single-handedly win both of the civil war movies. That's what I love. The constant progression that improves as time goes on until his abilities could rival that of multiple gods, superhumans, and aliens.
@@crabcrab3048 It's more about the strength than the size. Hulk buster has Veronica to replace broken parts with other weapons and accessories. Mk-85 did little damage to thanos physically
@@ViolentCabbage-ym7ko on principle I agree with you but based on power scaling I do not. Hulk was embarrassed by thanos and while Ironman certainly did not beat thanos, he at least faired better. I think that is more of a plot issue tho and if we were to go back in time, without using infinity war as an example I’d say hulk would win.
@UltraIronicMan interesting take, can see how you get there but I don't think its a plot issue, totally different situations, circumstances and opponents. Also the way Thanos talks to Tony comes from a place of intellectual respect. He even says as much during the fight, he heard of Tony years before in some form or fashion, most likely from Avengers 1 and up to Infinity War I could see Ebony Maw providing him with research on Earth's defenders.
SPOILER ALERT! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . When Fury and Rhodey were having their measuring contest in Secret Invasion Ep. 3, Fury should have said, "You think I'm talkin' about me? No, I'm talkin' about the man without whom you wouldn't be able to posture in that titanium suit you were just now braggin' about! I'm talkin' about the man who gave up his life to protect not just this planet, but this and all other universes. I'm talkin' about Tony Stark... and I'm sorry, you ain't Tony Stark!"
In-universe, Tony Stark was born in 1970. He was 21 when his parents died in 1991, when he took over Stark Industries. He was 38 in 2008, when he became Iron Man. He died as Iron Man in 2023, which means he had 15 years to be Iron Man, although he probably wasn't very active for at least 5 of them (not sure how much time he took off after Iron Man 3), so it was more like 10 years. He lived for about 53 years, leaving behind a 4-5 year old daughter and a widow.
Its so sad that he died in a earlier age compared to his parents, and to top it all, his daughter was still 4 years old, which pretty much sets up morgan as a superhero someday in the future.
@@gjumper9871 you might be done with the mcu but that doesn't mean it stopped lol. "The end of the MCU cycle" is the statement. not "The end of me watching the MCU"
There’s something viscerally satisfying about watching a slow suit up. It’s like an asmr for geeks and sci-fi nerds that touched the soul!
Does anyone remember the hype of this movie??? The superbowl ad? Man this was the heat! And endgame was officially the end of this particular run… the last few years wil never be this goodn
"If you can make God bleed... people will cease to believe in him" - Ivan Vanko, Iron Man 2. When the clip of Tony fighting 1v1 against Thanos came up, where he made him bleed, suddenly that phrase came up in my mind.
But, if you look at it, dr. Strange just needs his sling ring and the sorcerer supreme's cape, and he is ready to go.. although yeahhhh tony and bruce are pretty cool as well.
Funniest thing is that that was actually the case when they were filming Endgame and probably other films as well, RDJ just walked around set during fight scenes wearing his normal day clothes
That scene in Iron Man 3 where Tony did not give Rhodes a suit, saying "sorry it's only coded to me" then flew off, but still Rhodes managed to survive and rescue the president, shows that Rhodes is NOT nothing without the suit. It's a clever nod to Tony's speech to Peter when he said, "if you're nothing without the suit, then you can't have it".
I can’t decide between this one and 2:42. Ich think at 2:42 the sounds are cooles and more things get tightened by screwing but the thing that stands out at 3:48 are the metal parts that clip into each other. Can’t decide
7:52 If this suit is the one I think it is, it's the Mark 40. Nicknamed 'Shotgun', it's Tony's fastest Iron-Man Armor that can reach Mach 5 (921-3,836 mph)
if you put it in reality, a full Nanotech armor would take scientists like 5yrs to make, cause you need millions of nanobots. Tony did it in like 2 months lmao
Technically Yinsen from Iron Man 1 saved the entire universe. (Give it some thought) And... He did in fact save Tony’s life early on in the movie, thus Tony was able to save the universe.
I dunno, the earlier, heavier suits are always my favorite. I feel like Infinity War kinda ruined that. It was a great movie but imagine Veronica following Thanos' ship and supplying Tony with additional parts in the fight.

I really appreciate how you didn't cut the clips immediately after the suit up, but let the scene or a dialoge play out for a bit. Thats how everyone should do movie clips compilations, great work.
2:20 I remember hearing older grown men in my theater audibly whistle and go “whoaaa” like seeing a really classic car at this spin around. Hands down one of the best scenes in the MCU to this day
It's a clever reference within a reference. It's from Betty and Veronica from Archie Comics, and Bruce Banner's love interest is Betty Ross, the daughter of General Ross from Captain America Civil War.
This is why the Justice League was a failure. They went up against one of their big bads with pretty much no back story. This is why Avengers has been succesful. We have gone through so many movies with them over so many years, seeing our heroes battle not just villains, but their inner demons, their families, their friends, trying to improve in everything they do for the greater good. We got so many good solid movies, it made us care about these super heroes. So by the time we were falling in love with our heroes, we cared enough about them when they fought the big bad guy. The story line was far better too.
Has anyone else noticed how Iron Man 3's sound design is much better than the rest of the movies? It's like every single mechanical movement of the suit makes a sound and it's super satisfying
Personally, I loved the suits from Iron Man 1 and 2, as well as Avengers, but especially Iron Man 1. Every suit is complicated, but it felt like you could see every moving part, hear every click and lock, and everything had a place in the design. Later movies, the suits were so overcomplicated that they felt more like Thor's magic or alien tech.
I hear ya I hear ya, and agree, his best suit ups are early on besides Infinity War with the Hoodie pull, I love that shit. Hahaha but the models back then were pieces like that they had to come together on em the way they did, but as the MCU and the world they was building was expanding it had to evolve with and they did a great job of showing you how it did, and how much he worked to improve the suits and just the other tech around him and the team. Once they knew of nanotechnology then ya it had to go that way cause Tony would absolutely use that. And for me still had they cool suit moments but that wasn't the stop and awe at this scene they needed to have in these movies as much. Took time and budget away from other things. And also Downey got older and didn't wanna wear as much of the suit like that anymore if you could do a lot with in cgi, do it.
Yeah the earlier suits were slower to put on but there was a joy to watching everything connect together.

I don't think Mk85 can take down the Hulk in Avengers
@@ViolentCabbage-ym7ko, considering that Mk85 consists of nanobots, it may be able to increase in size as well.
I actually like how Tony traded flashy, intricate suit ups for quicker, efficient ones as he learned to put aside his ego

Watching this man as little kid and then having to say goodbye as a teenager. There are no words.
