This is what I miss in the MCU, they have to work hard on something with technology, now everyone's a genius and powerful
Yeah and now everything is nano tech, it doesnt satisfying to watch anymore 😪
And there was more story. Now it’s mostly straight-up dive-into-action and occasionally-out-of-character comedy while knowing the heroes will always win.
Kinda silly to not see the fruits of their progression by constantly rebuilding things.
@@teleportedbreadfor3days all that and then there's Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel who will top them all in term of "no progression of a good story"
@@oniplus4545 An example of Disney failing with a female protagonist and picking a poor character (character as in person) to play her because it’s focused on something the company doesn’t actually care about, they only pretend to care in their sort of attempt to cater to certain audiences. They did this with Star Wars, although Daisy - who played Rey - is actually a decent person from what we know, but their failure with Rey was due to the fact that she was promoted by Kathleen Kennedy, who’s actually a misandrist who masquerades as an activist, the kind of person some people mistake as a feminist due to the line those like Kennedy have blurred inadvertently or otherwise.
Man, I miss Tony just building stuff. These scenes are some of my favorites in the mcu
Agreed.
Seeing him literally slap things together to try to solve a problem 6583474 moves ahead of everyone else was awesome. It also made the MCU feel real because we see real things being made. Once he got to nano-tech it all felt boring and lazy, even though it was something we all knew he would get to. It also looked bad and obviously CGI. His mechanical suits felt real because we got to see the movie parts when he suited up. Especially with all the sliding and "clunk" sounds of it coming together.
@@Soldier4USA2005I’m starting to appreciate Iron Man 3 more because of that
@@fr0ck360 I would as well, if that movie didn't try to mix 17 different stories together.
If you look up the Extremis story in the comics, it was WAAAY better and was done so very horribly in the movie.
This scene is what made me start building stuff 😂😂😂 now I'm addicted
Riri (Iron Heart) could NEVER make a new element unlike Tony.
I love how he just casually builds a PARTICLE ACCELERATOR in his house.
Didn't he have that huge af Arc Reactor under his house before this? Dude keeps on building power sources like it's nothing.
You do realize an arc reactor is a particle accelerator? He has a particle accelerator in his chest
@@fryball1443incorrect
And he called it easy.
He did build a nuclear reactor in a cave with a box of scrap.
When I attended engineering classes at Uni, we discussed the different fields of engineering. One of the questions was “What kind of engineer is Tony Stark?” and we all just unanimously said, “All of them.”
That's the only correct answer
@@escotanner This is the way
You mean Industry engineer
Cool story bro
When I was in uni one time a guy asked what time it was and we all just unanimously said: it's morbin time.
It was awesome
🤡
Tony legit made a mini Space Stone. His father studied the tesseract, Tony synthesized it.
Maybe that's why Loki's glowstick of destiny didn't work on him.
@@hoody4414 Maybe. Definitely can’t be doubted. But it’s also possible it’s just because Tony had that big metal thing in the way.
Its possible whatever made the tesseract in the far past to contain the space stone just happened to make it out of the same stuff tony synthesizes replicating a infinity stone would take more than lasers I reckon.
@@hoody4414 Nah doubt so. I believe the Stones had way more complex build to it's general appearance as we seen in AOU and WandaVision. The mindstone looks to be magical but enlarged and studied via modern science it is closer to that of a really really big brain compressed into a stone. It required someone like Shuri who has had years of research in artificial bioscience to figure a way to work around vision which for them is thanks to having the heartshaped herb for study over the centuries because it came from space. If the US didn't weaponize Vibranium into a shield they could've had indestructible tanks or suits. Tony managed to perfect his father's studies from Project Pegasus as shown on the crate.
I thought he made vibranium here
I will never be able to unsee the fact that the super laser somehow cuts thru everything except the wires hanging off the left side of the thing he's 'charging'.
And that the case was cut through but is magically repaired in the next scene
Also, why not just position the prism to aim at the thing in the first fuckin' place? That's simpler math than most of what he did here lol.
@@mrguy89 an accelerator goes around and like Jarvis says it approached maximum power when he starts to move it.
Where’s the proper PPE too
WAIT thats what i said when i was watching the movie!
“Perfectly leveled” the detail in that moment yet the simplicity… genius writing, genius acting.
As all things should be
Also the “that’s just what I need to make this work” with Cap’s shield.
The mcu doesn't have scenes like this any more. It was a process to achieve success.
Thats why im not going to movie theater any more to see their movies.
Now they just need some legos 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It literally does but ok
Imagine a scene like this but with Dr. Strange crafting new spells from what he learned in the books. Combining dark forbidden magic with his own so he will not get corrupt using it.
This with drama and editing could've been an incredible movie before infinity war. It's too late now, but what a wasted opportunity
Write Dr Strange 3 please!
That's never happening with the current batch of Marvel movie writers. What a shame.
We kinda got that with the What If episode about him amassing power by absorbing creatures in an effort to resurrect roxanne.
That would be more comic accurate. Dr Strange in the comics would use a mix of light and dark magics from various dark dimensions like Cyttorak's realm or Mephisto's realm. Dr Doom also uses dark magic but only if his science-based weaponry failed
Tony taking one of the most important and valuable objects in the MCU and shoving it under his machine to keep it level is a perfect representation of his character. Even when the fate of the world is at stake, he still somehow cant take anything seriously.
It was a prototype, it wasn't the real shield lol
You’re missing the point. Howard Stark ignored his son while praising long dead perfect (TM) Cap. Thus, this shield is a personification of Tony’s trauma and deserves to be treated like trash. Even more after how Cap behaved in the Avengers.
That literally, absolutely, did not happen though.
it’s also nowhere near the most important or valuable things in the mcu 😂 WHAT THE F are you talking about
Also the world absolutely was not at stake! And this scene doesn’t show him not taking things seriously, he’s literally taking science seriously and making a new element
"We need you"
"More than you know"
Hits different after Endgame
He also discovered a material stronger than vibrainium because that laser couldn’t cut those wires on his setup.
Good catch
Was looking for a comment about those wires. Haha nice one 😂
Lasers are weird about what materials they can cut. Especially metal.
It's not just power. There's different types of lasers, different colors/wavelengths. You can cut stainless steel with a typical blue diode laser but then copper and brass are crapshoots and probably need infrared. Aluminum is so reflective it can bounce back and damage the lens depending on the distance and focus.
A lot has to do with conductivity and thermal properties. Better conductors are harder to laser cut because they bleed the heat away so fast you can't get the focal point hot enough to vaporize.
Not a laser, a particle accelerator very different
@@tayty1238it’s not a particle accelerator but a prism accelerator, at least that’s what they call it in the movie.
=2010 MCU
Recent MCU = No solid backstory, no angst, just "I'm better than Tony" lol
I love that they foreshadow the first Thor movie just by having Colson mention New Mexico.
Wow didn't catch that.
Coulson Goes to New Mexico and Find Thor’s Hammer from 2011 Before Meeting Thor
When stark says land of enchantment 👀
Land of entrapment come here on vacation leave on probation it's a fucked up state with beautiful landscape 😂😂
That and captain America. Did you not catch Roger's shield in that same scene?
Jarvis: Congratulation sir you have created new element.
Periodic table: Oh man here we go again..
We all miss iron man still during this day :(
We all miss the good old MCU, not today's trash
I'm a fan of Iron Man but I don't miss him much. His ending is perfect. I don't want him to come back and get ruined
Nah
@@gogetablue7905We miss what he stood for; character development, interesting arcs. Right now, the MCU (and the rest of Disney) takes the approach of "spinning half-developed plates that will never be served properly".
Colson : we need you.
Tony : yeah, more than you know.
Colson: not that much.
Tony: 🗿🗿🗿
Turns out Coulson was wrong, as Tony saved the literal entire universe.
Tony: *"ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT"*
His first name is Agent

Tony: Perfectly leveled
Thanos: As all things should be

I'm gonna be honest, it's a shame we never got a return to the curls for Widow. It was a hell of a look.
for you maybe
@@erilaksmana450you’re a big guy
I always thought it was strange that they did away with her original look after just one dang film. She was barely in it for 15 minutes. Major bummer.
Good old times when technology actually mattered and you had to work hard to obtain anything. Now everybody can simply learn how to do magic if Doctor Strange just gives him a book or two. Anybody can just put on an iron man suit if Potts gives him one. Anybody can become Thor if Thor just says he borrows them his power. There really is no reason why street heroes would be a thing any more. Everything in the MCU is overpowered and has to be dumbed down and nerfed for anything to have stakes.
Only reason strange struggled with magic was because he was a stubborn jackass set in his ways
That’s what happens when things progress…..
The story and plot progresses. All of these heroes will be needed once Secret Wars gets here. You'll see
Thats what happens OVER TIME. Things become more efficient that others can also do it. I mean if you want to so badly struggle go be Amish.
Not true at all
I remember when I saw this with my family, my dad said "Why didn't he just punch through the wall with his armour?" And only 10 years later, after rewatching it again, I realized it was because at this point he was slowly dying due to overuse of the suit haha
Wouldn’t have stopped him doing that…
2:34 The "i did not think this thing through" stage.
It was classic Stark because he doesn't care about stuff. He can just get more. He's not sentimental about anything.
I can't believe it had been more than 10 years since this came out.
I still remember I was 12 and went to Cinema to watch a cartoon movie which this was aired right next to my movie scene room.
Time flew really by.
1:49 literally saves the universe by sacrifice
There’s no way to tell that
@@heisafraid pretty sure there is.
Thanos: I will shred this universe to its last atom.
All out battle ensues, Tony snaps, dying, but deleting Thanos and the remainder of his army.
The “We need you” “not that much” scene was real good foreshadowing cus mans really brought everyone back.
I always loved the subtle detail that when Tony gets his ass to work on something he cares about he’ll just start breaking shit cause it’s necessary for his work
Laser so powerful, it destroys half the room yet couldn't scratch the wires connected to the core
Insulation
@@bryanemilius1606 pretty much everything that was destroyed was an insulator
When i first saw Iron Man 2 i kinda felt bad for Tony, he pretty much lost everything, to someone that never knew he even existed, out of a family vendetta, and he was all alone, but then he had to help everyone remember that HE IS IRON MAN. And the most heartbreaking moment was when his father said "My best creation, is you"
0:38 I think it's funny you can hear the ratchet, implying that Tony is spinning it around for no reason
You mean you don't also spin it around cuz it makes the funny clicking noises?
@@JohnWulfgar Of course I did. I suppose it wouldn't be out of Tony's character to do so
It's not a ratchet, it was a pulley
“What do you want”
“Nothing. Goodbye”
understandable, have a nice day
Imagine how hilarious it would be if the hand to hand fight scenes were realistic, you try to attack someone and you slip on the marble floor and get subdued lmao
"We need you."
"More than you know."
When you're right, you're right lol
2:45 Nothing really flammable in the flam-locker. Suspension of disbelief: Maintained!
Its Tony Stark. Was propably something alcoholic.
It still makes me mad that Tony used a bubble to level a frickin laser beam tube and not some high tech calibration unit :D
They gotta give him some humility..
there are bubble level with a precision of 2/100
How did it not cut the wires
Sometimes the simplest tool is the best choice
Rick and morty is not real life
Honestly still one of my favorite scenes in the MCU.
It's nice how the laser cut everything in half but those needed wires lol 2:50
Either way, scenes like this are what I miss the most from the early MCU films ...
Black Widow almost steals the spotlight from Tony in this movie. Also that was the sexiest brawl I've ever seen. ❤
"We need you." "More than you know." now this line kicks different...
tbh og tony with the arc reactor in his chest engineering will always be superior
Wow. I need to rewatch the older movies. You can tell how much more effort was put in.
I love how there are many references to other movies that weren't release back then..
New Mexico - Thor
Half Shield - Captain America..
I always found it funny that the arc reactor which powers the suit also needs it's own power source.
Not really. Even nuclear reactors need fuel, which is essentially what this new element is acting as. The original arc reactor used pallidum, which was once theorized to be a useful fuel source for cold fusion, but it created harmful by products. Just like an actual reactor. Its actually a pretty good nod to scientific realism.
You think arc reactors make power out of nowhere?
the arc reactor is the generator not the fuel
@@feminico2613 Yeah but something has to power the generator.

Funny that the beam didn’t cut the wires but cut the steel metal around it 😂😂😂
YES, ive found it!! I LOVE those scenes of him working, i could watch a whole movie with him building stuff.
1:32 Perfectly balanced - as all things should be.
I don't understand why people hate this movie, yeah it isn't iron Man 1, but was still a good movie especially now since we have Iron Man 3, there is a movie here I can see why people don't like that not even I did, but Iron Man 2 was still good.
@@mattbittner2805 Not even close, that movie is just like The Incredible (I think is the name of the movie) but a lot worse, there are good idea in that movie? Yes, but the execution is so bad, I still see the frist and second movie, I actually try to see the 3rd movie and just couldn't, the 3rd movie have nothing good. The movie call The Room is so bad that it is good, Iron Man 3 is just bad.
Happy The Strongest Avenger... and Agent Coulson the Best Agent 😂😂😂
The laserbeam just destroys everything but those wires must be build out of Mjolnir Material🤣🤣

Oh dude , this man can't stop , drinking cofé and reading newspapers , he can make some machine and destroying his ketchen all day , yeah that's Tony Stark 😂
I need that Terrence Howard guy's trainig regiment, he looks really good in this sequel
He created a super collider in his mansion 😂😂. What a boss.
I remember my buddy giving me this movie 2 months ahead of time on a flashdrive. That was good times
Excuse me?
watching this scene rekindled my disgusts with how Riri Williams are written in the recent movie
Tony had to go through a whole lot of failures just to get to this arc reactor stage while Riri......casually built a reactor powered suit in her apartment room on her free time using some electronics she found lying around
Agreed, Disney threw all character building for this bullshit allegory of "everyone's powerful already, deal with it"
Having that be the norm sucks all of the struggle, strife and learning from failures that makes characters have some depth. There's no reason to worry about these new age "heroes" as they don't fail at anything and come out of the gate with success. They are throwing the MCU down the drain, one boring, arrogant, overpowered character after another. Basically Spider-man is all we've got left after the Guardians have stopped being a series after this latest one.
This is what upgrading your door to a piston door in Minecraft feels like
Since Tony saved the universe from Thanos, they did need him more than he knew.
Thanks for this masterpiece, Marvel ❤.
he's the reason why i choose software engineering

Definitely seemed like Happy got the toughest goon. All of Widow’s goons went down in one hit, or just being knocked over.
Perfectly level as all things should be.
I like how this sequence makes it look like he did this whole work in one day and on the same night he defeated whiplash 😂
I sure do miss the pre-nanotech era.
Don't know why, but I always feel hungry every time I watch this scene
“More than you know” he was right, without him they wouldn’t have nano tech
Can we for once appreciate how he ok often just destroys his house??
"Not that much"
You have no idea, Phil.
Who thought he would be using the Captain America 's shield made from the strongest metal to balance that pipe😂
Iron Man 2 gets slept on
Why did he have to place the core so far off to the right from the laser that needed to be turned? He could have placed it right next to the tube and only have to turn it a small amount but instead he destroyed half the room.
Well Tony is a bit wreck less sometimes lol
Fr
Wo it could spool up I say then spin it to get it on target, guess he didn’t expect it to be that way.
Particle accelerators need time to charge up in order to build a full power if he had set the crystal in place to particle wouldn't have went around in the accelerator it would have just directly shot into the core with nowhere near enough power to make it work
Because it's a movie
This is what I feel like when I change my 6 year old laptop SSD and RAM
Happy is the most realistic human in the mcu
I miss this old MCU mood.
"GUESS WHO JUST DISCOVERED A NEW ELEMENT???!!!!!"
Casually making a particle accelerator. He is something else bruh
funny how the laser destroys everything but the wires connected to the device XD
The good days
How'd he get the beam focused on the core epicenter without cutting the conduit wires lmfao
Tony: perfectly level.
Me:...as all things should be.
The way he disrespected caps shield 😂
While I love the scene I do love the humor that they show it slicing through everything like a particle beam cutting laser EXCEPT the wires standing out from the test fixture holding the new element. Cuts the text fixture but the wires are just fine.
That right there.. incredibly strong wires
Tony doesn't dabble in precision
Epic scene
so he build a particle accelerator inside his house, and synthetically make another infinity stone (tessaract) smaller? god dang it.... its awesome.
