    So good to see you and Tig back in action! Meal really came out nice and you definitely haven’t lost your touch when it comes to utensil carving. Thanks for sharing brother and hope you have a great evening.

    What a great spot for an overnighter Kevin. That fireplace was perfect. Karen and Bodhi went out this morning while the snow was still firm but it warmed up quick making for hard hiking on the way back. Should have had her snowshoes. Bodhi found his first fresh moose shed for 2024, unfortunately the antler eaters had found it first and had gnawed away a good 25% of it but the color was amazing. I suspect it was porcupines that had gotten to it rather than mice judging from the teeth marks. We will head back up there in the next day or so but hard rain due tomorrow. Looking forward to part 2.

      Not much snow here, Don. You can roam for miles. I want to look for moose sheds this spring. They stay up higher, and the roads are rough right now. That is a nice find, even if it is chewed a little.

      Any time Pine. It was a lot of work this trip. I look forward to camping there in the future, now that the heavy lifting is done. There is a large creek 1/2 mile away with wild trout, so I have ideas about that. Thanks for watching, my friend. I always enjoy sharing with you.

    A most excellent video! Beautifully composed and told adventure. Thanks for making this and sharing it with us. Can't hardly wait for part 2.
    The lack of snow is surprising, especially compared to last year that persisted at our place into May. Cool find on the skull. Your spoon and spatula skills are impressive. It sure has me itching to get back over there.

      Glad you enjoyed, @TheKirbyCreekOutfit. Had the 102 with me the whole time, but only used it for peeling onions! Hardly any snow, even up high, but we've had a lot of rain. The back roads have been swampy with mud with all the freeze/thaw. It was really nice to roam in the woods without post holing or needing skis. Part 2 should be ready Thursday.

    Very nice video. My wildlife hatchet arrived today. I bought the Almike on my own, but you sold me on the wildlife hatchet. If I’m not careful I’ll end up with a handmade heirloom broom.

      I think it’s the prettiest one I’ve seen yet. It’s dark like my small forest axe but with a little more character. I’ll email a pic.

    Another great video Kevin and I really like your style and adventures. Quick question...what saw is that? I've been looking for a pack/bow saw but just haven't pulled the trigger on one yet. Thanks for taking us along and keep up the great work!!

    • @WestForkWoodsman
      @WestForkWoodsman  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for the kind words. That saw is a Schmidt Pack Saw - the original collapsible buck saw. Still available on Ebay. Originally called the Curtis Stebbins pack saw, been around for many years. Only weighs a pound. I like vintage, old school stuff, and the saw works great. Thanks for your support.
