I love it. It makes me wish I had footage of myself. An old friend showed me chat conversations from 20 years ago and .. 'who's that girl?! Me?! No waaaay!' lol. The closest I have to seeing my old cringey self, is all the stuff I wrote on LiveJournal, or my old email correspondences (I kept a lot). This is delightful. Thanks for sharing.

Wow Brittany really said let me confront my humanity and fallability head on so I can better display myself to my audience and understand myself better and we absolutely love that. Like this is giving major permission for others to be genuinely human vibez and I stan (just thought I'd say that b4 full consumption)

Speaking on the child abuse video, yesterday I took my daughter to a new dental clinic to establish care as we just moved states & a sign in capital explained that besides your child's first visit, parents cannot go back there at all. When I told the woman that I wasn't comfortable with that and asked her if they make exceptions, she looked at me like I was crazy and said "Why? Does she have bad anxiety?" & I replied "No, I just care about her safety & wellbeing and I don't just trust anyone." I explained that I'd be fine with sitting out in the waiting room if there was a camera I could watch of her room and if not we'd have to find another dentist. Luckily I got along great with the actual dentist and she saw that I didn't hover around her or my child during the visit causing them both anxiety but just sat quietly in the corner. I'm serious, until my daughter is old enough to physically have a smidgen of fighting off a grown adult, she will never be in another's care without me besides school.

@@BrittanySimon Thank you! They can give me all of the weird "You're crazy woman!" Looks all they want, I don't give a shit. My girl comes first & just because you're in a uniform, wear a badge, or hold a title doesn't mean you won't go there. I'm also very age appropriate when it comes to sex ed & her curiosity but my daughter knows everything and without shame. She has all of the facts and proper names of body parts. She knows about good touches & bad. I also never hesitate to tell her what is OK or not, as abuse (whether it's emotional or physical) can sometimes walk a fine line. I try to take each & every opportunity I can to protect her and keep her safe while still giving her space to foster independence. Again though, until my child is old enough to be able to fight off an attack, she will not be alone without me. Nor will she get to sleepover somewhere else. Not happening.
I'd do anything for that girl.

I am the same way! My mother was the same with me. I feel like Brittany Simon really has a wonderful perspective of that. There’s nothing wrong with keeping your children under your watch, especially when they’re young. I always tell myself that no matter what anyone thinks I know I am not harming my child I am ensuring that they won’t be in any danger.

I don't come to you for help but a sense of stability within my rapid changes and growth in my own life, because not too many people I know or meet are interested in radically changing or learning for themselves. I rewatched this just now while cooking and i just felt immense nostalgia. Like towards the end, how you reflect on what you went through and what it meant for the present you. I cried with you when past brittany spoke about the baby who was killed by his parents and I felt the melancholy with the video where you spoke about how suicide ideations are in us. Your philosophical view on life gives me so much comfort because it doesn't feel like an end all be all unless we put that pressure on ourselves. I've never felt leftist or full out conservative and I genuinely don't even know where I stand on The Levels but I might start to look into it more seriously. Thank you for all the discussions you have on your channel. I hope you never leave youtube (unless you have a change in life and focus on a baby, a house etc.) I've already thanked you before but you truly are a comforting youtuber and you've taught me so much.

I recently learned I am Neurodivergent, and it made so much sense. It’s put a lot of my life into a new perspective. I’ve mourned what could’ve been for me had I had my diagnosis sooner and gotten treated at a young age, and have accepted what’s past. I finally feel like I have it in me to take this journey on and figure it out. I’ve always had these big questions and way of thinking differently, but saw it as a weakness. You’re helping me realize it’s a strength, and I need to accept who I am and dive deeper into it. Thank you very much for sharing this. I agree that you made the video. This one is it, Brittany. You might not be a superhero like you dreamt of as a kid, but you’re changing the lives of people who need it and want it. And you’re creating a really interesting community along the way. I know how difficult it can be to share past selves, for sure, but this is so beautiful. You seemed to always be a beautiful person. This really feels like you being a parent to your past self, which I think is healing. I know it's healing for me to watch.
A pivotal moment for me was looking at my past self, knowing that my brain wasn't (and isn't lol) fully developed and loving myself as that person. It really is such a beautiful journey thru all the pain and the understanding of that pain. I feel like I come from a place of having done really immoral things (I had Trisha vibez, raised w/ no values, having to develop my own from scratch) or witnessing folks I love do immoral things,, which is where I developed my understanding for the darkest parts of humanity. I share the trait of being able to bear witness to any human that sits with me, but not having many capable of doing the same.
Anyways, I can't wait to finish this tomorrow. There's so much love pouring from this video, it's a little hard for my fearful heart to take in, but that's a good thing probably!
I hope you have a really great day! You deserve that, you deserve to be selfish (preserve self and energy) when you need to be, and baby Brittany is awesome :)

I see so much of my young self in your young self and it really gives me hope. A lot of my past thought patterns, feelings, and attitudes definitely stemmed from shame of who I truly was and am, and I think it’s way more common than people like to admit to act out like that in order to repress things you feel like you can’t express at the time. You know what I like about this? It shows how much someone can change and highlights how stupid cancelling ppl is.
Ppl change. The degree to which ppl can change is absolutely mind blowing. Hanging onto shit ppl said 10-15 years ago is dumb.
Also, I'm glad you decided to let the curls pop 😎. Going to edit this as I go.
Edit 1: Ok. I hope this doesn't come off wrong, but you look phenomenal bald. It really, really suits you.
Edit 2 (slightly tmi): on the subject of penetration and men dominating women, if y'all haven't tried the Amazon position, y'all are missing out. That is all. Imo, aggression is deeper (pun intended) than simply being the one who is penetrating.
Edit 3: they really brought in stage to the little Mac soundtrack I'm done lmao.
Closing thoughts: this was amazing. Seeing a snippet of your growth over the years is really making me ponder what I was like over the last 10-15 years. I wish I had the opportunity to watch my life like this.

It's so comforting to hear of others, whose journeys of life exploration led them into an array of dangerous situations. The world of the twos can make you feel idiotic for such a deep sense of adventure, but it is a necessary part of life imo.

wow i'm SO CURIOUS about your coauthor being a four and trying to go back into being a two. I think i've been stuck at a 3/4 for a very long time, but it's impossible to suspend my disbelief enough to be a 2, it always feels like i'm being asked to forget everything i've ever experienced or learned in my life-- which is frankly so annoying to me lol

I also currently believe I’ve been in three/edge of four-dome purgatory for roughly the past 6 years… Very new to Brittany’s channel so excited for the inspiration to dig deeper and hopefully come to a place of peace in the deep amounts of existential dread and pointlessness that waves over my mind on the regular.

I find it interesting that your opinions have changed so much over time. I can't really relate to that, I've always known myself and been really analytical about the world, other people ,politics etc. My world has grown as my knowledge and experience has. Its really interesting to get this insight to your life and views. Thank you for sharing your growth with us.

I wouldn't be able, right now, to watch myself in certain times of my adolescence. Like, I'm finally not cringeing about me as a 10-13 yo girl who loved anime and wasn't interested in boys and thought i was a lesbian and didn't really understand social cues and did not know i was autistic. The real problem is when i remember of when i tried to become a "cool" girl, and go to parties, do drugs, be naked, having sex, but i was just 15. When i think about who i was trying to be, i just violently cringe. Now I'm 22 and I'm just trying to study philosophy and be at home and connect with my family and my boyfriend.
