It would be interesting to see the data coming out of the chicane in Miami.
You can take the data out of the chicane but you can't take the chicane out of the data
impressive how Alonso could keep Perez behind ... or in other words, impressive how Perez could not overtake Alonso
Obvious skill issue
Perez need to retire not everyone can be in his prime at 40 like gigachad father alonso
Different circuit. Therefore a different setup. Still it was impressive what he did in Brazil, but it has very little to do with this comparison.
You can tell Alonso was successfully defending on the same corners and it took Perez how many laps to be able to pass him on the straight? He could've done that a lot earloer
Perez is a good driver but he's past his prime. Still, a great career.
Awesome visualization, thanks
Magnificent as always. I'd love to see this more often now, it could also be interesting to see a comparison between the 10 teams in some corners (low-speed medium-speed and high-speed) to see how they perform in every kind of corner
hard to tell because every driver would take corners differently
Great vid m8, very interesting
danny ricc did one of his best qualifying that day he knew exactly what to do, if he had the rb or ferrari he would have stickedit in pole
Dude, Tsunoda sacrificed his Qually to pull Ricc down the straight. Thats why he was so fast and Tsunoda out.
@@M_m_M_m_M_are you brain delayed? He didn’t have any help in Q3…
dude, he did it in q3 without tsunoda as well...
@@M_m_M_m_M_ explain q3 mate. no tow sticks it ahead of perez lol. Tsunoda was used so they could keep an extra soft fot the race instead of using it in quali
@@M_m_M_m_M_ tsunoda wasn't there in q3
that's pretty cool, would have been interesting to see how this works at Monza as well.... I was surprised by Mercedes, I'd expect them to be inside the top 4 or 5 but 7th is where they would come in a straight line race..
their car has been slow on the straights the whole seaon, not a surprise really for me
I agree, altitude in Mexico plays an important role in performance. I would like to see Monza results too.
@@silverygold.6118 Hamilton got the fastest top speed in monza
@@czrptr6849 merc ran downforce too high in mexico thats probably why
It also depends on the setup a lot. Alpine was slowest in Mexico and then they had the highest top speed in Brazil.
This video is by no means exhaustive: it depends enormously on the setup of the single-seater during the Grand-Prix. Try to repeat the experience at the Brazilian Grand-Prix, for example, and I'm almost certain that the standings will be different.
I bet if Merc was leading in the video you wouldn't say this...
@@PaganiGaming So true haha

can we see DRS open vs closed? I think the differences would be interesting
Check out F1 channel. Sam Collins has released a video regarding that. This video does not really show how it is
F1 should have a drag race for a few points or just for fun :D
So nice to see that Willams is up there
That show's how bad everything else is
Alpha, McLaren, haas, Williams comparison is wild
i thought this was dude perfect with f1 cars for a second because of the pfp of the channel ☠☠💀💀
Quite surprised that Alfa Romeo is that quick on a straight
Redbull should invest a bit more on Alphatauri too
And somehow the AT's were strong at Mexico.
Because of the low air pressure, AT have a very draggy car, so when up in the thin air of Mexico their drag is diminished
downforce is king at Mexico, the track is misleading because of the thin air
@@SuperSocks7 also they could run with less cooling intakes which gained them downforce compared to other teams
Yeah but you can notice that AT's are struggling to overtake even with DRS.
Hmm, I knew it.
That looks amazing, what did you use to animate it?
people saying it's unfair obviously have no idea what the concept of formula 1 is lmao
Well one of the concepts is cornering speeds.
This video does not explain everything. This is only specific to this track and to each team's car setup. Go to F1 channel and look for Sam Collin's video. There's baseline speed, with tow speed, and with DRS. Super informative
A sample of one race, and an outlier at that, means nothing. Generally if you DO want to compare at just one race's sample, you would compare at a circuit which is not 2km above sea level. Also, wing levels and setups will skew the results massively. Monza would probably be the best choice because near everyone runs a slim wing there except maybe RB because of their crazy efficiency.
Mercs used to be called illegal rocketship due to their awesome engines and aero. What went wrong 😭
Over the years, they changed engine regulations ( among other things; running engine modes, fuel flow, fuel mix and also allowed for greater percentage of electric drive) all in efforts to reign them in, seems to have worked unfortunately. Regulations still being changed in 2026 again, maybe they might be tops again. On the other hand, Honda did very well recovering from their nightmarish return to the sport with a substandard engine....
Im a RB fan but Lewis might be telling the truth about that car being trash after all
I think so lol. looks like ur having a good time this year tho as an RB fan, enjoy that lol
It also seems everyone is overreacting and coping with RB being a rocketship compared to the others.
Mercedes for the past two years have built quite draggy cars. Last year the car was very slow on the straights, especially in places like Baku. Improvements have been made since then and even since the beginning of the season by a substantial amount.
I don’t really watch f1 could someone explain to me, because it’s obviously more complicated than what I think. I thought it was just press down the gas pedal as hard as you can.
Red Bull sandwich
lets go mclaren
mclaren coming back to its domination era?
Las Vegas....
imagine losing two tenth on a straight
I'm surprised with the speed of Alfa Romeo
AM is Even Slower than Merc, yet Alonso n Even Yuki Passed it like it was In REVERSE
That's because this data from the Mexican track and not Brazil. That's a difference . Hamilton came P2 in Mexico with a car 7th in straight line speed. 😂
How many points does midlonso have again? Cry harder 😂😂😂😂your god got schooled for the last 6 races 😂😂
id say realistically, straight speed goes no1 to red bull, then williams, then ferrari from what ive seen on tv, maybe mclaren, haas are up there too, then mercedes in the middle is quite accurate, didnt expect aston so far down
Yeah your order is in line with mine. I'm also surprised to see Aston so far down, but Aston make the least sense of anyone. Their strengths and weaknesses seem to completely change every race weekend.
Alphatauri always coming in last 😢😢
Red Bull can drive with less downforce because of Newey.
Wasnt ferrari faster than rb in straights some races ago?
I cant believe the HAAS is 5th fastest but arguably the least competitive
Shouldn't really be that surprising since this is straight line speed and tracks have corners and you need tire traction in the corners and that's Haas' main problem due to horrible tire deg.
Also Grosjean keeping Ocon behind him but couldn't create a gap to save his life showed exactly this.
@@Vlad-sj5yw Hulkenburg lol and yes you are right. I think both KMaG and Hulk could do so much more if they had a good car
@@tropicF1 lol yea Hülkenberg! Guess I was tired and a couple years behind in my head!
yeah, mercedes is cooked.
The only thing you can say from this comparisson is HOW THE TOP SPEED WAS PER TEAM BASED ON THE SET UP/DOWNFORCE/REARWING THEY CHOSE TO DRIVE IN MEXICO..... it doesnt say anything abt the 2023 season in general!!!
You’re correct in that setup has an influence. However there is still some correlation from this comparison with the general straight line performance of each team. For example, an RB19 will always be towards the front, while the W14 towards midfield/back
I don't think that mexico is the best place to take data from. The altitude there makes a difference
Alonso is the goat and here is the proove
What that demonstrates is that Inspite of an absolute crap car Hamilton has done exceedingly well to challenge for 2nd as has Alonso who's been on the podium.
and they still say max drive is impressive
So its the car and not the driver. Noted
How is Alpha Tauri so slow in a RB powertrain?
they actually faster
Wow Mercedes has really fallen off 😢
Honda both first and last lol
(yes I know it's RBPT)
no wonder mercedes is hanging on by a thread
redbull have both the fastest and slowest car
I thought Alfa Romeo would be the slowest car
これじゃピアストリをなかなか抜けなくてもしょうがないよね
This is DRS top speed though, if you remove DRS the Red Bull is one of the slowest cars on track. Sam Collins did a video about it a while ago.
☠️ the car was catching Ferrari in Monza without DRS
ive said it a million times, if you put alonso in a red bull car he'd win every race
Funny how all mercedes customer teams are faster😂
merc 7th hahah
Team Ferrari
⬇️
Fake, Haas had highest topspeed in speedtrap in qualy.
lol alpine had the most top speed
Not a good circuit to make these kind of comparison, because aston was with problems there, take brazilian gp, for ex, or other gp,
AM is 8th Fastest
Even Slow than Merc but Yet last Race Alonso PASSED Lewis like it was in REVERSE
Ya that's cause Mercedes had 0 pace in Brazil. Russell had to retire the car. AM was clearly 3rd fastest that weekend. Even Stroll scored 10 points that weekend including, highest ever in last 9 races.😂 U just keeping leaving salty comments for Hamilton. Alonso couldn't do anything when AM car was bad.
Dawg this is the mexico straight
Brazil is a completely different track completely different setup for mercs
So alonso could pass him like a rocket ship
So did Stroll, he made both Merc drivers look like Latifif. Sainz was behind him in P6 most of the race and could not gain on him at all. It's weird though how different the cars are in different places.
extremely unfair
This is not good
Bottle actually recorded the highest speed ever recorded in an f1 car at Mexico this year.
Bottle 😂
