As an old school F1 guy, it’s nice to see Williams come in 1st in something. Maybe drag racing is more their jam.
Bruh, I don't think we needed the Haas POV animation, we saw it and felt it IRL. Thankyou for this
Yes we do need it but from a lower angle, the same height of a turtle eyes. Haha I’m kidding. I’m just still mad at HAAS and fokin Guenther and Gene for attempting to strip Albon and Perez from their points in Austin.
Makes it even more impressive that Stroll got P5 at such a high speed track.
Well if RedBull is 8th and they finished 1-3 it can’t be just about straight line speed then.. Williams is clearly the fastest in a line here but their tires destroyed their race, there’s many factors going into a race
@@DarthVaderOfficialand overall downforce
@@DarthVaderOfficial yeah and redbulls cornering is unmatched
@@DarthVaderOfficialYou could see how balanced that redbull was through the tight chicane. When max overtook Leclerc he just accelerated into the distance because he could carry the speed through the corner so we'll whereas Leclerc had to slow down a lot but he had a better angle to the corner exit.
Hamilton fan logic 😂.
"Quicker on the straights...." Blah blah blah
Glad all the F1 engineers decided to comment on this video! We'd be lost without them!
The Williams sure is fast in a straight line, it's a bad thing F1 is not about drag races, but a race of the least drag 😂😂😂
Least degradation you mean? Because too much drag would make you look like a sitting duck even when the car is good, like what happen with merc on brazil
Drag is important. Idk what you are saying
Makes max, checo and stroll's performance all the more impressive
Nobody else is saying this. If not for Perez (Again) Max would have been really vulnerable to Charles even with less downforce than Checo. Leclerc got him once and he would have taken the victory just like he took 2nd place. That’s why Max said something like “We need to work together. We can get him.” Because he knew how powerful Charles was in Vegas, that’s why this time didn’t hesitate to lift in order to try and help Checo. Cheers 👍🏼
What makes it more impressive? Those are qualifying runs. Cars are set up differently. Just look at where Williams ended up at the end of the race...
@@rickymacqueen6690 If that’s the case, I believe it has to be addressed either in the title of the video and/or description. Because I also understood that that was for the race. I know your reply is not for me but if that is an “issue”, it’s the channel that has to be called out. And I for one have no idea if it’s straight speed in qualy setups, race setups, or a “balance”/average. Cheers
Edit: My bad 👆 IT WAS ADDRESSED. Not in the title nor in the description but in the “captions”. Then yes, the point is yours. Even so don’t be so harsh 😅 we’re “drinking buddies” talking cars 👍🏼
@@drunkargonaut3899 your the one who read it harshly guy. I'm just trying to have a conversation.
@@rickymacqueen6690 I’m messing with you my friend. Sorry for not making it more evident. Peace ✌🏼
Now add Charles' last lap when he went 354km/h 😅
Sainz did 366 if I’m not wrong.
Sai went fastest,266
266?@@fqeagles21
That was with battery boost saved fpr several lap, AND DRS AND slipstream lol
@@barcafan94 where can i see that vid?
Really interesting to see. You should probably put "Slowest Car" not "Slowest Driver" 😂
Kevin should have gotten out of the car and pushed it. No wonder they cannot keep up with the other teams.
no I think this data was collected during las vegas qualifying and i think he was the slowest haas driver during that
Loving these vids, interesting to see what downforce levels the team adopts. Would also be cool to see a comparison between teammates when opting for different wing levels, like how Verstappen in the race could more easily overtake compared to Checo
Checo had chosen a relatively high downforce setting due to the deg and the fact the doesn't like the oversteery style that Max loves and the Red Bull is famous for.
As an aside, very often people ignore how Max's superior straight speed is a tastament to his ability to deal with a lower downforce car without spinning out (at least rarely) or incurring to much deg. It's not due to superior engine at all.
@@rodrigofonseca1160bro i never mentioned anything about the engine. I was talking about the wing level they chose
Sorry, in the final part of the text I wasn't talking about your statement anymore, just adding something people often say. I've edited it to make it clear@@ethanshackleton6195
ALPINE IN SECOND????? No wonder they were so quick..... they have by far the slowest engine..... they really found something with their configuration..... bravo.
Good stuff. Great video.
good job man, i miss your radio contents 😢
Surprised with Alpine straight line speed
Low wings
They were fast at Brazil, in a straight line.
And they were complaining not long ago that their engine as weaker than the rest...bullshit
@@Lodairo12 The engine is definitely weaker. It's just that on some tracks they are able to mask it with a really efficient aero package. Enstone is the factory that handles aero and chassis and they have always been pretty good because their performance in chassis tracks like Monaco and Zandvoort have been good while power tracks like Monza and Spa get trouble because the engine factory Viry is struggling
Complete noob in F1, i see..... it's not all about engine you muffin head@@Lodairo12
And Crofty just keeps pointing out "Red Bull's straight speed advantage".
And now ppl may understand that having the highest top speed at a track doesnt mean you have fast laps or can win a race....
Same engine can produce very different results in different car setups. ...but that was kind of expected as well.
Could you do a with DRS Vs without DRS comparison?
Thanks for this insightful data. Just shows that straightline speed doesn't win races. I would like to see fuel loads portrayed in this comparison to see at what point the fastest time is recorded.
James vowles is doing magic in williams, he deserved recognition
Williams was always one of the fastest in a straight. Nothing new here.
People need to realize that the power of the Red Bull is not the speed, but the low degradation of the tires. Which also makes it a weak point during qualifying, because the tires do not warm up quickly.
May i know what contribute to low drgradation of tires?
Let's go ALEX!!! finally something to celebrate for! 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂
“Now we have to call Gene”
I wonder why they never showed speeds during the race. Mexico showed them every single time weird
F1 was real when 1 team had 50 sec ahead of the others...modern F1 is fixed
@@vinipcplayer No it's not. This isn't WWE.
@@vinipcplayer stop being delusional. ALL THE SPEEDS ARE IN THE F1 APP.... of each lap and you know that. Stop posting blatant LIES
The F1 time table with lap times didnt work the whole race. None of the commentators or viewers saw any laptimes, sector times. The app didnt work.
This is why Sargeant was able to set p6 in q1 twice even if he got all of his lap times deleted. He wouldn’t have managed those lap times if the Williams car didn’t have straight line speed.
I'm impressed with the improvement to the merc, did not expect it to be that high.
They finished 7 and 8. That’s not an improvement, but a disappointment.
High top speed is easy, they just need a low downforce setup. You lose grip in exchange. Mercedes seems to have chosen a low downforce setup, while RB went with high downforce. RB won the race.
Probably Ferrari found the best balance, as they are the ones who outperformed their usual pace.
@@juzoliMax opted a low drag setup whereas sergio went for a high drag one didn't you saw the final laps of the race where commentator were saying about the reason why Checo was slow because of which his lead of p1 fell to p3
@@juzoli LH had 15 overtakes that race and was never overtaken on track. The puncture greatly affected the result. The car clearly HAS improved.
@@juzoliAre you forgetting the puncture? And damage to Russell's floor? Without those, it would have been a good shot at a double podium for Mercedes, and if not for the puncture for Lewis, probably a win.
@@TreyMotes What’s clear is the end results. Everything else is just speculation.
brutal!
quality content
the Aston out of the last corner was fire. as in the entire season. If they get the grip on the top speed BUT keep their cornering then they could be a challenger for P2 and Alonso fighting for wins
Makes you realise that straightline performance is somewhat misleading… would be interesting to see this with braking and corner speed.
I love how they look like small toy cars
It wil be more interesting if you compare top speed in quali vs race
Max being Max
The williams is a rocket ship for sure. Just waiting till next year for them to come back to the top, where the name really belongs.
RB on 8th, wow
Y`all should take a look at the Massive rear wing the Red Bull had before saying Max
Williams really said “I am speed.”
Fo all you Indycar Americans, here you will see that the highest top speed car is actually almost the slowest in F1...
And the winner was almost the slowest
Williams just couldn't figure out Downforce lol
It just proves that top speed means little in F1 races. Handling and cornering speed are more important. It only matters in IndyCar and Nascar.
So much for Alpine moaning about their Renault engine being down on power 😂
they ran less downforce and had to comp in corners
It HAS less power. This is not abt power but abt downforce, how tgeir wing and set up was.....
Over 300 kph yes drag plays a HUGE part but between 200-300 kph power is still king.
Norris confirmed at Brazil the merc engine is definitely more powerful than the Honda and you can see how it pulls lower down.
The Renault is a surprise and a low drag set up clearly helped but there’s no way it’s lacking power!
It was hauling ass up the hill at Brazil which also proves its power is not lacking.
Merc powered cars faster in acceleration means more power
Good engine power can be used as an opportunity by aero engineers to create the best handling. If the engine is not able to drive the design of a car, then it is better to give a little room for top speed rather than lose too much. So the top speed of F1 cannot be calculated simply, but it is complicated.
seems that Merc realy improved its top speed !!
But still corners like an oil tanker...
So RB is 8th fastest on the straights and they came P1 and P3 on a track that is mostly straights?
No way Ferrari was that slow like they were rapid on the straights
These cars aren't built to be fast in a straight line, its the cornering.
LETS GO WILLIAMS!!!
where are all the ppl saying RB is a rocket ship and the fastest car and that's why Max is dominating now?
This proves what Norris said about Merc vs Honda power!
No we definitely have more power he said. However the Merc especially is a draggy car so top speeds are often lower.
This highlights the acceleration advantage from 200-300kph which is the power zone. After 300 drag plays a huge part!
Its a shame williams had to have problems at a track where they might have done really well
williams is my fav team
Thats why Max is a true champion even with not fastest car and slow cornering of red bull.... but hoped albon did well
Redbull has the most balanced car, just faster car in straights doesn't make it the best !! besides ,seems the other teams improved their straights line speed becasue no one was near to RB in that aspect !!
Lord please get your head out of his ass. He is a driver with the most balanced car no different than the mercs of past. Its the car first and then the driver.
I have never seen someone call the best car in the grid with Perez being n2 in the championship with shit performance all year a bad car
@HexxuSz they say that to elevate max and downgrade Sergio even more. Like last year Sergio wasn't fighting leclerc hard for p2 and this year he has p2
No one ran Soft’s unless this is quali
williams... king of the straights as always
Newey copied an aerodynamic feature of the Williams on the rear. You think I am joking, eh?
"The cars are ordered from fastest to slowest"
The cars were not ordered from fastest to slowest at all
Exit speed will change the speed from getting to peak speed faster. So this verys but damn Magnusson need a new car.
Straights are for show and turns are for dough 💵💶 you heard it here first
Wait then why does everybody talk about red bull and their straight line speed and drs advantage and stuff??
Because they’re salty Max haters who just started watching the sport and don’t have the brain capacity to understand that a car with lower top speeds can produce faster lap times.
Max fanboy...... their straight line speed is better on other tracks. It's all about configuration@@stevenst6337
mercedes was that good becouse i think is the first time this season they use full power on this engine! The car was so good in sector 3
After all thier whinging that their PU stinks, I'm shocked how well the Alpine performed. Both here and in the race itself.
People watching this without understanding thats not how fast can those cars go in the race 😂... people is so naive
How is the red bull one of the worst in straight line speed, but so fucking fast around the track? I know straight line speed isn’t everything, but with straight line speed like that, it shouldn’t be so dominant.
Haas Stonks
Just shows that max is a great driver he has a slower car and still wins. Best driver ever to sit in a f1 car next to senna
insert facepalm
slower car ?!! 🤣🤣😂😂 joke of the century
Mercedes wasn’t the fastest in straights a lot of times from 2024-20
Shows how uneducated you are
Because F1 cars are all about straight line speed , you clown......
Aston Martin and Mclaren are the best in acceleration! GPABHUDABI WINS
why was mclaren 5th when its top speed was only 340?
Acceleration! The power of the Merc engine is still king as seen from the 200-300kph zone. However both the Merc and McLaren are quite high drag cars so the top speed is lower.
Kind of disappointing that Red Bull was amongst one of the slowest cars… when F1 was saying they’ve been the fastest all season long
I thought the Alpine was very slow on the straight??
Low wings bro
Ahh, if only F1 would be a drag racing discipline... Williams would own everyone. Surprised Alpine came in second though given that their engine lacks ~20 BHP compared to the others.
Redbull 8th Fastest
Oh my god bro whats with the silly order at the end. just make the fastest the one on top.
What haas is the slowest car??? *Suprised pikachu face*
No car that is fast on the curves will ever be the fastest on the straights without drs.. that’s why you see Williams the first..
Am i the only who see a pig-shape in the layout?
No. A lot have been calling it the "spider pig" track (gotta love that Simpsons reference).
Sainz got up to 366
Few keep mentioning this in the comments.....any video links for the onboard telemetry?
The fia speed trap data only shows Ferrari at 350 as top speed
Amazing to see Max win with the 8th slowest car. Truly a remarkable driver
Max most be the wurst driver in the slowest car then.🙃
Ok, but with DRS Red Bull wins I reckon.
But it doesn’t, there is data to prove it, what you reckon doesn’t really matter bud.
What is alpine bi#@ing about?
Their engine
So what is about all that bullshit about red bull fastest car ? Max is simply the GOAT
how the hell mercedes is 4th?
That's the trick to F1 that fans rarely want to discuss. It's mostly an engineering sport than a pure racing sport. They removed some of that drag with some tuning. Lewis probably could have challenged Perez for third.
Absolutely true, and for instance, no matter how great Max racecraft is, I don't even think that's his best strength. He seems to be absolutely mighty in finding the perfect setup and also to point the car development in the right direction. Max doesn't win his races on Sunday's, he does it on Friday and in the interweek work. Albon also seem to have this talent very sharp...That doesn't seem to be neither Perez nor Lewis strong points at all, as it would involve them being a bit more enthusiatic about simulators. Lewis seem to delegate this task to Russell, but Russell is no Verstappen.@@2remove788
I was surprised (even during the race) as well!
Maybe they ran super skinny wings but on the other hand they didn't really seem to lack downforce or suffer more from graining due to excessive sliding.
No idea where the straight line speed came from (in comparison to the rest of the season).
Low wings bro
they're running low downforce setup. which is why they also started at much lower speed (233 compared to mclaren and aston 242). i'm guessing they did that bc their car's aero is fucked and just decided downforce isn't worth it anymore. kinda like williams but not as extreme
Fastest on the straight, and they didn't even score points.
To laugh. This has not anything to do about F1 racing.
Hamilton driving a faster car but still losing, skill issue.
B-b-b-but max isn't a good driver, he just has a rocket ship 🤡
For context this is the only track where you have this low downforce set up and one redbull was running a high downforce wing which would bring their straight line speed down on average. So we’ve actually learnt nothing. 😂
Funny. Haas is slow while they are categorized as Power archetype in F1 Mobile.
Bull shit, redbull is strong in straights😂😂😂😂
