I haven’t gotten farther than maybe almost a half of the video in, but knowing that the mom is going to get in trouble too, bothers me a lot. She did what she could for that baby girl and had no idea this monster was going to do this. Yeah, we should protect our children, but she didn’t seem to have the tools to noticeor recognize when evil was present. And finding out that she seems to get a bigger sentence than he does? I really hope that’s not the case.

My family seems to attract women like Kelsie, who don’t safeguard their children, either through neglect, ignorance, mental health issues, or possible cognitive issues. And each had at least one child that had been SA’d as an infant or toddler. Most of the assailants were these women’s boyfriends or even casual hookups. And they’d still leave their kids with us without an apparent care.
To clarify how we came into contact with them, it was primarily from my mother’s in-home daycare, they were a client of the daycare my sister worked at, or they lived in the neighborhood.

The mom was ignorant and mentally unstable but that did not mean she meant for her baby to be harmed. She did what she needed to when she knew her baby was at risk. She didn’t know that man would hurt her baby and while that was wrong was it actually criminal. There were other instances where something terrible could have happened but it didn’t. Like handing off your small child to someone you don’t know and just walking off.
She had no business being a parent. She did not have her child’s best interest in mind.
It seems she had a decent support system but I almost think they enabled. She had ZERO business raising a child without supervision. Just wanting custody equals nothing. She says over and over that she never lost custody of her child like it was some great feat but she shouldn’t have had full, unsupervised custody. She wasn’t mentally well enough to even care for herself.
She basically handed her child to this monster. Just way too mentally unwell to make a sound decision for a dependent who was defenseless and relied on her to keep her safe.

Not only these laws but our animal abuse and neglect laws should also be changed. Why are we programmed to think one life is more valuable than another life?? Animals feels pain, sorrow, fear just like humans!! How many child abuse cases have we seen where there is also animal abuse. Each of them had children that they would give to any and everyone to watch them, with the sadly almost expected result - each woman had at least one child who had been SA’d as an infant or toddler. Every single one of them. We met each through my mother’s in-home daycare, my sister’s job at a daycare, or they were neighbors. We’d have these kids for days or weeks on end, meaning that if we were different people or had the wrong people around us, we could literally have done anything to these children. The thought of what happened to these kids after they left our care still crosses my mind.

Some of those questions were so rude, gross and pointless. "Why didn't the two of you stay together?" Dude, why aren't you with your ex? Kinda implying had they just stayed together, nothing would have happened to that baby. No one knows that for sure so that question was just a no for me.

I think it's sad that she was convicted for what someone else did, and this is coming from someone who's mother allowed her to be abused because she was also being abused and afraid. But over the years my mother totally turned her life around, became a nurse and even raised one of my children. There is a fine line here and lately I see more anger at the mother then the person who committed the crime and its not right. 😢❤ I wish here well

I’m so happy to hear that Kelsey was arrested. I’m not sure if I believe she aided him physically in her death - *solely* bc I didn’t hear evidence stating that she did - but either way her negligence reached the level of abuse and she deserves prison. Maybe if more parents were imprisoned for allowing dangerous people around their kids, they’d think a little harder about putting a partner before their kids.
I also wouldn’t doubt that she did indeed aid in her mvrdvr though. She was clearly not a good person and not fit to be a parent and I think she’d have put whatever the flavor of the month wanted before her child.

As a single mom. You need to be take your time getting to know someone and set the expectations that they won’t meet your kids ( even though if it gets serious they will eventually meet them. But you can’t move fast, take it slow. Let them meet them slowly but don’t leave them alone for a looonngggg time.)

As an Ohioan, im not surprised Ohio is full of these child abuse and death cases
Most kids i knew grewing up were either in poverty, being abused, or both, and the ones that were being abused were never taken away
Im still poor and i was abused by all 3 of my siblings (all older) until i was around 13 or 14
Southern Ohio is the poorest part of the state, too

I’m very grateful to have been raised by my parents. When I have kids, the ONLY man I will ever trust to watch them by himself is my father, because he has proven through his raising of me and my brother that I can trust him. I love my brother so much, but I wouldn’t even trust him to be alone with my kids. I don’t seek validation from men, I’m happy on my own, and I have a discerning eye for character. I take no bullshit, and I don’t tolerate any kind of disgusting behavior.

Kelsie is to trusting. She isn't the first person and unfortunately ill not be the last person, who made some bad decisions. It really sounds like she was working so hard to be a good parent. There are sober parents who don't try so hard. And I commend the "fathers" in this tragedy. They really sound like they were supportive too. This perp is the devil. The prosecution might be his disciples, so you cannot trust them.
