So they considered this absolute monster to be mentally incompetent to stand trial? Did he seem like it to you?
We've covered so many cases where the murderer seemed like they could qualify for insanity but it was often denied despite a strong push from the defense, but this guy somehow qualifies for it? He didn't seem delusional when he was trying to manipulate Caliyah's parents. What the hell is going on here? If you know any information that we're unaware of, regarding this, please post below. We are sick of seeing this trend of child murderers getting reduced sentences, or in this case, NO sentence whatsoever.
Hug your loved ones tight. Be safe this weekend.

I sometimes babysit my 2 yr old grandson at a hotel when I visit my kids.
While I'm always diligent about taking care of him & would never do something as horrific & irresponsible as Kaliah's "parents", I appreciate the painful reminder that dangerous people can be anywhere.
What's worse is the horrible court / parole system in some states.

Michael wasn't incompetent when he made adult comments towards a little girl. He wasn't incompetent when he took biggest her committing this horrible crime of a two-year old baby! He knew what he was doing when he baited that baby to his room and lure her with candy and cartoons. He was and is not incompetent. He never was. He knew what he was doing when he found the girl and grandfather by the ice machine and bought her chips. And he was already undressed before Dad left to get the woman friend? I'd say he was competent alright. He acted precisely as all men who SA children!

I would have rather started shaking and sweating and experiencing extreme discomfort before ever putting a child in harms way. I would also never be irresponsible enough to have children if I was actively suffering from an addiction. And people who get gratification from children aren't just going to change that. You can put a drink driver through courses that force them to think about the consequences of their actions, address their alcohol problems and devise better strategies. You can take a burglar through a programme where they meet face to face with victims & have to hear the effects of such a violation. Where they are given help with their addictions and given the skills to earn and honest living. But you cannot replace the deep, deep instincts that are our sexual drives. Quite rightly, programmes to 'de-gay' people are treated with scorn. Paedophiles are deeply manipulative people, predatory by nature. They are not going to suddenly develop healthy sexual interests because of a course, however well meaning the people running them are.

I believe he was not only aware of his actions, being that the criminal act itself appeared to be premeditated ie the luring of the child with candy and such, but adding the fact he has lengthy and violent criminal history with the charges of SA on another child and his attempt to evade the police, he knew what he did was wrong. He knew he could get in trouble. He's no stranger to the criminal justice system so he also is probably aware of what would happen to him if caught and convicted of the crime, maybe not reflecting on it in the moment then afterwards.

She is clearly just trying to change the narrative in order to create confusion in hopes of getting the world to believe that these 'parents' - you know, the POS idiots who thought it was appropriate to drag an infant into their lifestyle of living/partying in drug motels in the first place, before then deciding (with no hesitation) to take that same baby with them to a TOTAL STRANGER'S BEDROOM in order to take him up on his invitation to *smoke meth together* (in spite of the fact that this disgusting creep had been OPENLY HITTING ON THEIR TODDLER all day) - still somehow *didn't mean* to leave her alone with said creep long enough for him to r@p€ and murder her, despite the fact he offered them money to, and that them doing so was somehow an accident, coincidence or honestly anything less than what it really was: the intentional sell of a baby and her body by the strung-out 🗑 she was unfortunately related to. At the end of the day, death might very well have been a mercy for that little considering the type of life she most likely had... nobody does something like this so willingly and so fast the very first time it happens. They probably had done it before, and had intentions of doing it again had she not wound up murdered that time... better to have no life than all then I have to live through that through that type of disgusting and horrifically painful violation over and over throughout your childhood and just so your parents can afford to get high 😡🤮

The parents go and get high with him after he made a comment of that nature. Definitely they are culpable as well.
It's staggering that he gets no jail time. It goes from the death penalty to this how come??
You can't protect your little ones enough. And her injuries are so grotesque that I find it unbeliveable that he was only given time in a mental health facility.

"It goes from the death penalty to this how come?" The defense team claimed, 'mental health' and the Judge sent him to the county nut house to be analyzed. The Judge is basing his decision on the report received from the county. The prosecutor requested an independent analysis of the killer BUT Judge denied this stating they have never requested a second opinion before. In other words, the Judge was ticked off when the prosecutor questioned his ruling. The prosecution has appealed the decision, requesting another analysis. Until that appeal is finished, nothing will happen. Killer will be locked up in county nut house. Those that the county states are mentally void can sit in county without a trial until they die. The killer can only play this game for so long; and yes, it’s a game … prosecution will get him in time.

My take? The parents staged the scene. They sold the toddler into SA for money or meth. And left her. Assuming it was just SA and not murder they came back and found her dead, so they started staging the scene.
They used their own gummy worms to make it look like he lured her, used his shorts and planted the cards in them to link it to the guy and then they pretended to find the body. All to try to cover their involvement
Reasonings: it’s more likely for them to have gummies than this bloke to begin with. The gummies being neat on a bed where a girl was violently SAd makes no sense. He wouldn’t have needed to lure her if he had easy access to her, the dogs would’ve barked at him if he someohow got in their room, it’s too sloppy for him to leave his own door cards in the supposed murder weapon etc
He did indeed SA and kill her. But the parents knew about it, and staged the scene to exonerate themselves

In fact, I and so many others, have a strong suspicion that the parents sold her to the creep for 5k+ drugs. What parent smokes crystal with a clear pedo that's preying on their child? Why did they leave for an hour, to get a prostitute or to let the pedo r*pe their child? Why didn't the dogs bark when the child was kidnapped? could it be because the parents gave their daughter willingly? How did Cody know his daughter was missing before even opening the door?(the video said he pounded on the door and screamed about his daughter but he shouldn't have known she was missing, because he never opened the door). Chelsea, the mother, is an active addict that got caught shortly after Caliyah's death. Because both Chelsea and Cody were users, they most likely sold their child for drug money and as a favor for smoking crystal with the creep

In my opinion, if srugs are involved, your mental state is irrelevant because you're the one who has you brain that way.

The parents are far from innocent too. She was just a baby and no one protected her, the disgusting man should be held in prison for life right along with her parents. Sickening. 😡

I absolutely think the parents had something to do with it. It's too convenient. How did he get her out of the room with nobody noticing. She had a juice box from the room with her. If he went and got her he would have had to wake her up, search for a juice box, and get out all before the grandfather woke up. Deep sleeper or not I don't see how that's possible.
It was all just too convenient. Also, they just happened to leave and be gone long enough for this to happen? There are too many things that point to them being involved.
They were drug addicts with a child living in a hotel. The man offered them a lot of money. I think he offered it to them to "spend time with the child". I think he told them that she wouldn't be harmed. I think deep down they knew better, but they didn't want to admit that to themselves. I think their addiction and need for money overpowered their common sense. This is what they got.

He knew what to do to keep from going to prison. He knew how to act from his last time in prison, where he should have gotten more time or never gotten out at all. Crimes against children should have no room for excuses and that goes for the parents who are just as guilty for being around anyone who they don't know, getting high with him, and offer up a person for his entertainment. Then she wants to get all high and mighty when judged? The judge should be checked for his level of competency to allow that level of evil to continue to enjoy life as if he never did anything wrong.
