When you look at this show as it is alone without thinking of fim, it's not the best but it's decent and It is nowhere near as obnoxious as TTG.
More episodes have been released since it launched back in June, I was wondering why you were just showing the first few episodes. Also this isn't a sequel show.

Haven’t watched the show, but here’s what’s baffling me: Why are all of them acting the same? Like, Pinkie hasn’t really changed that much- she’s still incredibly hyperactive. But... Why are the others acting THE EXACT SAME WAY AS SHE IS? Like, I haven’t watched much of FIM (but I have a good grasp on how the characters act), but I know for a FACT that Flutter wouldn’t be springing off the walls. Rarity seems to have been turned into a borderline PSYCHO, and the other 3 are just Pinkie clones.
One might say there's *too many Pinkie Pies.*

This is kind of becoming like Teen Titans, and Powerpuff girls. The original was sooo good! but then all of their personalities are gone, and now it's all comedy and slice of life.

why is it that EVERY SINGLE reboot of a cartoon looks like this. They completely took away all of the magical elements of MLP with it being a completely different world from ours. They added so much... whats the word... annoying elements to it. They ruined the entire feel of the show for so many people and now its just another show you see your 2 year old watching because it has no story, no character development to it anymore. It's just there to entertain realy young children with their spastic and colorful images.

Well I’m planning on a Robotboy reboot that doesn’t look like shit and follows an original plot with a cool new artstyle which goes like this
-realistic body heights
-every character has colored eyes
-subtle shading, shiny hair effect (taken from anime)
Various nose and eye shapes
5 fingered hands
And that’s how it looks (tommy has one brown eye and one blue eye and gus has both brown eyes).Also there will be meme references however not enough to annoy the hell out of you. It’s going to have a slightly more noticeable sirreal effect too

Honestly, growing up on FIM, THIS is such a massive step down and disappointment. As you said different body types and almost everything that made the characters look different in essence is gone. Also the artstyle just..doesn't sit right with me

Fluttershy is much more interesting in Pony Life than FiM where shes just boring and passive. Heck in Equestria Girls show she is literally a background character without a single story arc. In Pony Life Fluttershy is the one who dominates and takes names, she is also the one who lust over Discord instead just letting him SIMP over her like in FiM. Overall Pony Life handle characters better but the short episodes and cheap animation make them look like shit

My biggest problems of the new pony life isss, the personality.
*fluttershy:* she isn’t shy.. sure she has her shy moments but, most of her screen time is her being energetic and crazy. Sure in fim her personality got more light. But she was still. Flutter *shy* but in pony life she’s just a pinkie pie.

And I agree it is our fault to an extent with the internet giving us quick and bite sized entertainment, but that only got big because algorithms favor quick and constant content. People would watch fleshed out things if companies weren't so hellbent on keeping hard working creatives down.
The original designs were actually based on kittens to get that cute factor in. It's just been EXAGGERATED here.

Not to mention that the internet shares bite size pieces of full 30 minute episodes because some people can't afford cable, and still want to watch the episode, but to upload the full episode, or even slightly smaller parts, like 1/2 or 1/3, will get taken down. Or the full 30 will be up, but with unwanted commentary. It's not all just for jokes, it just looks that way

The lessions are weird in there at best. The artstyle is a tactical virus bomb on my eyes. Trying to put in more Modern problems just feels like "how do you do, fellow kids?". The Humor is just total random... Come on, even Children deserve something better.
Overall 3/10 would not recoment, dosnt exist for me.

FiM was not a five-minute episode *web animation* with the budget of one, so not really a fair comparison. Of course, I have been rewatching some episodes from old Canadian flash animated cartoons and this does not rely on farts, like Sidekick, Total Drama, I guess I will check Almost Naked Animals, Johnny Test, etc. Admittedly, I am not sure about Johnny Test, but I am not checking it.
I honestly just absolutely hate the new art style it burns my eyes. It sucks :(

All you had to do was look at the "Pony Life" logo compared to the "FiM" logo to spot the stepdown. It's honestly just dissapointing. We saw how amazing FiM was. The backgrounds, stories, hell, the LORE. Pony Life is literally another cartoon catering to the younger generations, which to be fair, is exactly what they've been doing with the MLP series for years. I guess my whole thing is: the overall MLP style and storyline has always gotten better, so why is it worse now? I agree the style is cute, but it's definitely not all that FiM was. I don't think it could ever live up to the standards FiM set.
How the characters act is also dissapointing. I understand making characters more energetic because thats what kids like, but everyone also needs to understand what the main 6 had to offer with their old personalities that made them so much more loveable. Fluttershy wasn't just "shy." She also represented people with anxiety, stage fright, people who couldn't stand up for themselves. I for one, have anxiety. And i could see myself in her, and considering FiM was a cope for me, it helped me grow from that. Rainbow was bullied, but she was able to get up and come back stronger. She also had to deal with a bad friendship which she later mended, thats important. Pinkie is another story, as she could represent a lot. Same with Rarity, and AppleJack.
The simple truth is, not only stepping down when it comes to artstyle but also basic character design including their personalities seems so wrong and distasteful. I loved FiM. The different pony races, the different parts of Equestria, the stories- it was all so unique and special. I have no desire to follow up with Pony Life. FiM was a huge part of me growing up, and I don't want to support something that in my opinion did my girls wrong. MLP has and always will be great, but I think there comes a point that it's not worth it anymore.

I literally can't watch this show, it's too sensory overload with it's bright colors and animation! I had a headache within a MINUTE! I was seriously getting Gen 3.5 vibes with the animation. So yes, I HATE it but I have a reason for it. When something is literally painful to watch, you know you did something wrong, because at the end of the day, Cartoons are visual media!

tbh i wouldn't be suprised to much if they did that i mean each episode on its own is only 5 min long atm why not just make it 20 min and call it a day
Personally, I think we're never going to get straight answers on how people feel about this whole thing. Not the original series, not this new one. People got so invested in the fandom it became part of their identity, and once that happens, people start having trouble distinguishing between what they see and what they want to see. Rational debate becomes impossible at that point. I've tried it myself, and given up on it. And hey, the show proved me wrong on a lot of things I thought were obvious from the beginning, so it's not something I consider myself immune from, either.
And Pony Life? I don't watch it myself. Why would I? I have to make time to watch Season 9 as it is. Pony Life doesn't appeal to me, the art style and type of storytelling isn't what I'm looking for right now. And even if it was, it would be competing with the Family Guy-looking reboot of Scooby Doo, the Thundercats reboot, and Teen Titans Go. I'm aware they're not the same, but they're in the same ballpark.
You're not going to get a straight answer from people who like Pony Life. They'll either be the target audience who didn't grow up with FiM or they'll be people who are already invested in the fandom and for them... you can't really tell if they genuinely like the show or if it's Sunk Cost Fallacy: they fool themselves into thinking they like it because otherwise they have to admit a loss. At least, some do. The ones who don't, well, how can you tell the difference? I'm sure it does have its genuine fans, but the numbers are and will remain a mystery. Design-wise, from what little I've seen, so take it with a grain of salt: everyone looks and acts hyper. And when everyone's hyper, then no one is. It loses contrast, which is what FiM did well, IMO. Imagine they redid Winny the Pooh like this. Can you see Eeyore acting like Fluttershy in this one?
I think the pony fandom was essentially a Rorschach test for a lot of people. We saw things in it that weren't there, and got attached to an illusion. Some of it will have been real, but with so many illusions in the mix, it's impossible to tell what, exactly. The politisation of everything doesn't help, either.
I'm waiting for more Filly Funtasia myself, or Valt the Wonder Deer. They're bad (Filly takes a nosedive in quality past episode 5-ish, at least the versions we have currently) but at least we know what we're getting from them.
Also, you know, there's always making your own. No one has the copyright to magical horses, or deer. If G5 doesn't buff Earth ponies with some Bayard magic (look that name up, btw), then somebody else is bound to do it soon.
THIS whoollee thing I totally agree with. It's bizzare how fandoms = identity for ppl. MLP has been a comfort show for myself and then the fandom was where I'd go for anything else I wanted with the pony aesthetic.
I'd love to see someone take "magical animals" as a series on its own.
Edit: "Politisation" like politics? Politics are going to be in art simply for existing. Ppl got upset over "Who is afraid of Red Yellow and Blue" and it turned into a political scandal until someone slashed the paintings.
@@dragoniraflameblade Well, been working on a story series on and off for a few years, never got far beyond the pilot, maybe when I find more time for it. Think Naruto characters in an MLP style of story with a setting from Darkest Dungeon... doing a sports anime. That's the elevator pitch.
Warning: this is a long one. It's a complicated matter, and I'm not smart enough to condense it.
With regards to the politics: the issue there is a semantic one, I think. You can have a show or story with universal messages, of course, and it wouldn't be considered political. People use the example of X-Men, for example, which was not, in fact, conceived as a civil rights allegory but only became one in the 80's, after the subject had become more mainstream, but that as an aside. You can have the X-Men overall message be 'try to live together with people you're different from; they have their struggles too.' You can apply that message to age differences in young athletes (pre-adolescents having to compete with adolescents, like in Free!), the difference in social pressure between academics (sure the nerds look smart, but their family makes their life miserable and forces them to study hard) and so on. A universal message with lots of applications tends to be popular, because different people can come together over it and share the same experience.
But when it becomes narrowed down to just one situation and hammered in over and over again, the audience will start seeing it for the one trick pony it is. To take the X-Men example: it's really closer to a gun control allegory than a civil rights allegory, especially considering one of the more often cited comparisons (Magneto) was originally an outright supremacist bent on wiping out the human race. Don't stare your blind on the example, though, it's the rule that matters. Why is the Lorax short film still fondly remembered but Captain Planet ridiculed for the mes that it is? Both have the same message of protecting the environment, but one went for a general and nuanced approach while the other did... not. Examples abound. MLP Season 1 finale? Everyone can relate to hanging out with friends after a supposed 'best night ever.' Your average Bible-heavy movie? Not everyone can relate to a devout pastor, not unless you show his formative experiences... the ones that made him devout in the first place. It's hard to explain.
There are, sadly, several ways you can interpret the term 'political' in art, cartoons are no exception. Most people, and this is just a suspicion, feel free to compare your own findings, get a gut feeling about which media is politicised but can't put their finger on *why* they feel that way. And that's a huge problem, because it doesn't allow for useful feedback. Top of my head, what I'd ask to specify when someone brings it up:
-does the message break the suspension of disbelief? This is where the 'realism' argument gets thrown about. People don't want realism; they want believability. When you're invested in a fictional world, learning the rules is part of that investment: you make an effort to learn, however small that effort is. Seeing the rules broken to lecture to the audience will make the audience regret their efforts. MLP did this a few times for me, and it got my dander up, I can tell you. I shudder to think what would happen to die-hard fans in that situation.
-is the message portraying a problem in a one-sided way? This is where the 'lecturing' part of the problem comes in. Idealising reality is what art is all about, this is good. But when one attempts to portray a real problem and message thereabouts, it's important to be even-handed. Again, refer to the Lorax short. The Onceler regrets his actions, deeply. He justifies himself early on as being in favour of 'progress.' He is not your average Captain Planet cartoon villain. This gets particularly egregious when real-world problems are presented inaccurately.
-does the message serve as a shield? This is what's been becoming more and more common, I think. Creators will include whatever sort of minority representation even where it doesn't do anything for the story or where it can break immersion, because doing so gives them moral high ground. You can't criticise a bad show if it represents X characters. You can't criticise an overreach of authority if it's to protect something sacred, like children or minority representation. Similar principle.
Edit, one more came to mind:
-allocation. Does presenting the message somehow change the intent of the art, in the eyes of the consumer? Light entertainment resembling a news reel can be the extreme form of this. The creator of the Smurfs not wanting any part in America's war on drugs yet seeing his characters dragged into an infomercial is the same situation from another perspective. People tend to have their shows to relax to or to think to or to get hyped about. Adding in moralistic messages, if it's too heavyhanded, can lead people to seek a different product to fulfill their need. You don't go to MacDonalds for a pizza. You don't go to cartoons to get lectured about things.
But that's just speaking from a creator and consumer's perspective. It becomes a whole 'nother hornet's nest when third parties get involved.

I'm a writer and comic creator. So for sure, as someone who was (groan) engrossed in Christan fiction and convinced I had to have a """message""" on everything, I totally understand. I tried reading Christian fiction and gave up when I realized there were always points where the MAJORITY would stop the story and literally preach to the audience. Only series I kept reading was Dragons in our Midst series.
I feel like your interpretation relies a lot on audience reaction and some marketing mistakes. Inclusion of minorities as a shield often seems like either a very poor marketing strategy or a fan reaction (it queer, so no bad for example. When really it's actually bottom of the barrel rep or problematic) which I believe is a result of that thirst for representation on fandom's part and makes them more eager to defend it.
Otherwise, yeah, I agree. Art has a message wether intended or not. It's all interpretation on the audience's part as well as the creators delivering it. I can't control how someone will see my stuff, but I won't force them to understand it how I do and that's how I see the lecturing parts in some shows.
@@dragoniraflameblade Yeah, I can see that, and I agree on your final note wholeheartedly. I've been put in that position once or twice writing fanfics, it's no fun.
For the original stuff, I'm trying not to advertise it too much too early, because it's got a few things in the pipeline that can ruffle a few feathers, let's say. But it's about a mare who's been learning an obscure type of magic who ends up owning a library in a foreign country due to a misunderstanding and a Sword in the Stone kind of deal with inheritance. She ends up coaching a team of children in competitive magical combat. For the pilot, the main idea would be she's having to come to terms with the idea that mastery of her craft doesn't come from getting a degree in magic, but from her accomplishments. She doesn't want her craft to die, so she decides to lead by example. The overall tone I'm aiming for is MLP-type feels but with a little more nuance and weight to things: the families of the kids matter a lot, and conflict off the field includes a father working in law enforcement (sort of) risking his life every day. Opposing teams are given backgrounds on why they act the way they do, sportsmanship comes in at times... basic sports anime fare there.
The Naruto vibes would come from how the magic system works (it's a home-made system, based on actual occult literature), it goes more into training and mechanics than, say, AtLA did. And the setting's not exactly Darkest Dungeon, but certainly DD-adjacent. The main character's a mare, but she's in reindeer country. And reindeer of the setting are defined as being former slaves to demonic foxes. Not the Japanese kind, mind you, but outright eldritch horrors. So there's kind of a dealing with the past element, too, different factions represented by coaches of rival teams, that sort of thing. Right now all I've got is a messy pilot, so it definitely needs work. I want it to be functional as both a series, with each season independently, and each episode needs to 'work,' so to speak. Who knows, maybe Ty will end up doing a video on it if it ever blows up in popularity ^^ I don't think Hell's airconditioning is that strong yet, though. It's a work in progress, outlined to a fair extent already, so it can get done, it's only a question of when and how.

Rn, I'm writing a sci-fy trilogy about witches living in space colossi thru a magical symbiotic relationship. One colossus is infected with a deadly fungus that feeds on magic. An engineer finds an ancient colossus in a comatose state with only one person aboard who has just woken up. Mysteries abound! Desperation! And I'm in the middle of the first draft, so I'm sure there's a third thing in there somewhere.

The reason why pony life is a slice of life, is because it's pony life. Like, the entire series is just showing the ponies day to day life. I feel like the episodes are shorter because they don't want BIG AND BOLD adventures. They just want small, bite sized adventures in their life.
The move to a super fast pace, high energy, and total character focus just don't capture my imagination like Gen 4 did.

I noticed that the animators have a problem with wings, I mean, this is so common in pony life, I already saw potion nova with wings, trixie, and even pinkie pie!

Using the same rig for every character with different hair and cutie mark ends up with things like that happening. Especially when animators are churning out a tonne of work and aren't necessarily familiar with the characters. But it keeps it cheap
To be completely honest, the fandom heavily over estimated just how much of the show's content was spent on World building and exploring areas outside of Ponyville. We didn't start the exploring areas more frequently until season 5, and before then, most of the time the only areas we ever got to see where Ponyville, Canterlot, the everfree forest, the very few times we got to see Cloudsdale and the Crystal Empire, and the one episode that took place in Manehattan.
Again, exploring the world wasn't really emphasized until season 5, and even then, it was only ever done sporadically, and when it was done, it was almost always in service to the show's actual goal, teaching lessons to kids.
Having re-watched various episodes of the show in preparation for a list video, FiM has always been a slice of life show with only sprinkles of fantasy adventures as bookends to each season, and even when the fantasy adventures became more frequent, the majority of the episodes were still Slice of Life.
So while pony life is absolutely a departure from Friendship is Magic, I don't feel it's as big of a departure as a lot of viewers like to think that it is.
One thing I love about this new show is that the voice actresses are able to exaggerate their vocals more because the style of the show allows for more exaggeration. This is especially true for is Tabitha st. Germain, who has the most vocal range in my opinion, and I always loved when she exaggerated Rarity's voice in Friendship is Magic, so a show where she gets to do that more frequently gets points in my book.
Good point on the voice actors/actresses having the opportunity to have more fun with this! They have the chance to be a bit more out of the box, and it's noticeable ^^;

Sad thing is that FiM sorta did that by the time season 9 (or a few season eariler) rolled in and most of that season consist of boring brony fan service and trying to be grand and epic like with Avatar or Avengers.
Pony Life doesn't need to be epic, grand or even edgy. It's a harmless little cartoon for kids being a harmless little cartoon for kids.
Heck, FiM itself is a reboot of on old show based on a toy line for girls and is one of many tv adaptations based on said toy line.

It seems like Pony life is just the Gen 4.5 of the series. It’s not a part of the mainstream products, it’s just filler content that’s being placed between gen 4 and gen 5, just like how Gen 3.5 was just filler content placed between Gen 3 and Gen 4. We just got to ride out this storm and be patient, Gen 5 will arrive eventually.
Honestly my main issue with pony life is the fact that it’s completely for kids and safe now. They aren’t teaching about hard topics, like they did in FIM. It’s for kids and kids alone. There isn’t anything for adults or, hell, even teens! To this day, despite being almost an adult, I can stilll watch FIM because it’s enjoyable to more than JUST little kids. But PL feels like a safe only-for-kids show.
(And when I say safe I don’t mean safe to watch, I mean safe when it comes to parents/censors reacting to episode content.)

It's funny that Hasbro has another pretty new kid's show, Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy. It's also having simple childish style, rather simple plot and short episodes (10 minutes). But RBA is SO MUCH BETTER than Pony Life! I don't know why, but while PL is a weird toy commercial providing nothing else but comedy and "buy. our. toys", RBA is really a nice show.
Maybe, because it really looks a lot like the first seasons of MLP, with all this "friendship is magic!" and "let's do a nice philosophical conclusion at the end of the episode" stuff, and because the characters are really acting as a team consisting of different people with different personalities and skills, but... Really. Non-MLP show is more MLP than MLP itself, isn't it weird?!!

Pony Life is not G5 though. Its more akin to a G4.5(aka it's only filler to tie people over until G5 releases. Based on those leaks they are going to be using the same animation program as the mlp 2017 movie). If the leaks are true(which so far it has been) the MLP movie next year is the one to kick off G5 but one thing is for certain, Pony Life is in not G5.

Everything in G5 was supposed to change from the race of the characters and to the Voice actors but both remained the exact same in Pony Life and also Hasbro is way too quiet for this to be G5 as they will definitely say it out loud(G5 is momentous occasion for MLP. They would have said something like this "This is G5" or "G5 is here" and say a whole ton of marketing lines to get people interested but for Pony Life there was really not that much marketing wise. They announced Pony Life and than barely talked about it again. Not as much as they should have for a G5 release. The movie comes out in late 2021 and they would not have a entire year of no pony so to keep people paying attention to MLP they do PL to tide them over until than. Also they are not mentioning seasons so that means this is more of a 1 year thing and by next year they will be advertising the movie so that PL served it's purpose and will no longer be needed). All observations of course but I know PL is not G5 as Hasbro is not making such a big deal about it like they did for FIM.
I honestly agree with you on the new series. I absolutely HATE it, I watched it a little and I HATED it. For example, Fluttershy feels more... energetic now. It doesn't feel like the new Fluttershy. The show just doesn't feel the same, it's just not really that good in my opinion. That's atleast how I feel about the whole show.
Also I just want to say, ALL THE CHARACTERS LOOK LIKE FOALS!!! When I saw the Pony Life Trailer I thought this was supposed to be the characters as foal friends( even if it’s not cannon with FIM) but then I learned these guys are FULLY GROWN ADULTS. They don’t even act like adults would.

I don't really take Pony Life seriously, I mean, it's not gen 5, not the next big series. It's an MLP: FiM "spin-off reboot", I'd compare it to the gen 3.5, that was a similar case in my opinion. It's just for laughs, something goofy, not supposed to be taken seriously. It's light-hearted, making fun of itself and the franchise occasionally. Just the way princess Celestia is portrayed says it all. And they have smartphones, for Discord's sake!
I personally enjoy it, slice of life format is perfect when you need a break. You know there's not gonna be any drama, nothing to cry over or be upset about. It's just silly, it's just there.
I remember hearing news about gen 5 a while ago, that it's going to be for older audiences, something like Adventure Time for example, it's gonna be darker and it had something to do with space and pony species living on diferent planets. It could've changed, I don't really follow MLP news anymore, but I'm sure this is not the next big thing they have in store. Let's just enjoy this break and hope for the best.
Honestly. Pony Life was NOT what I expected. I expected a generation 5 of Friendship is Magic, new cast etc. The style change? It makes everyone look so.... Boring... In Gen 4, everyone looked unique, the important characters were taller etc. The show had an actual plot. Pony Life is just a pony version of Teen Titans. Honestly even Transformers Prime, a show that ended in 2013 from going OVER BUDGET, a show completely unrelated to mlp but owned by Hasbro, EVEN TRANSFORMERS PRIME WAS BETTER THAN THIS. *What the heck even is supposed to be pony life?* I get it, it's supposed to show ponies everyday life that doesn't include constantly saving the world. But why take all the magic out?? Where is even the plot? The show is so chaotic, I literally don't wanna even watch it. Mlp Gen 4 and TFP had me hyped as a 2004 kid, heck, even Rescue Bots is a Show better than Pony Life! I agree with everything you said. *Somebody please kill Pony Life*

Looking at Pony Life from first impressions, This is basically My Little Pony Go. Taking something that was, while not great, was decent and dumbing it into a quirky parody of the original.
Honestly, seeing the style and the format of pony life for the first time, I could immediately tell that it was going to be *that* kind of show. Easily consumed by the media with a lifeless story and jeopardizing quality over ease. Apparently lengthless and shallow plots are what people like.
Well, when everything is measured in clicks and how many ppl watched the whole video rapid fire brightly coloured super short episodes are the way to go

Pony life is not meant to be FiM. And wanting that just isn't fair. the show isn't even canon to FiM. It's a really silly and funny. Wacky show, I can see and enjoy it for what it is. It's a different story if this was Gen 5. I would be pretty disappointed if it was. But but the joke's have gotten better. I like some of the wacky things they are doing with the mane 6. I don't take it so seriously and it's not meant to be taken seriously. But there are still morals in this show.

Except that he's talking about what he doesn't like about it, so it doesn't matter if its canon, or not, and it doesn't matter what it's trying to be. Furthermore, if they're going to use the characters to convince fans they should watch it, they're inviting critique based on the source material, whether they mean to or not.
I hate the washed out pastels. And the characters are far too cutesy to believe even for a second that the show will let anything actually bad ever happen to them, so there is nothing seriously at stake. Zero emotional investment.

I watched first five episodes and I lost my interest. The art is too simple even for a short cartoon, backround seems like a kid just smeared something on the paper (no color diferences, only pastel mess), the music is discracting the scenes (I thought there is another video opened somewhere), and although the story could be good as a slice of life, they are too quick to follow and you cannot actually start to be interested in a story, because before you aknowledge the problem of the story, it is already over. For the body type, if there wasn't too much negatives already, it could be bearable, but considering other problems with the show, it is only another nail in a coffin.

Ok heres how i see pony life. On one hand ty you are right that it's did take some stuff out of friendship Is magic and that will take some time to get used to but on the other hand, to me it's like Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series. It's an entirely different entity because it is a parody of the original which we all love. Some might love pony life, some might absolutely despise it and some might think of it as a show to watch when your bored. I like "Abridged Series" versions of shows because they're fanmade, but using the same art style. So it's like you're really watching an alternate reality with the same characters, and helps both the humour and the immersion for me. An official grab at the concept just completely misses the mark IMO, especially so if they change the art style. Then it's less like AU stuff and more like ADHD fanfiction, or plaigarising their own work.

I still don’t know why people are saying there isn’t plot or messages or character development in pony life there are plots and lessons, yes the plots are sort but atless there is plot I’m going to bring up some examples.
In a camping we will go there rarity was not use to camping but at the end she got out of her cam front zone. It was even told by applejack.
In another example is the go cart episode twilight and rainbow dash wher competing with each other but at the end they realized that it’s not about winning it’s about having fun.
In another example is in the one with potion nova, twilight was nervous and having trouble but potion nova told her to let her emotions out.
There were plots,morals and character development but the people were to busy comparing it to teen titans go that they didn’t even notice, I mean if I was able to tell what the morals where they shouldn’t be that fast passed.
And even if this show doesn’t have lessons so what? Some cartoons don’t have lessons or character development and they were still good like Johnny test and dextars labatoury for example.

Personally, I love the art style of Pony life. The softer colors and cutesy look is actually really pleasing looking but; it does really limit it on what it can do. It can't be magical, it can't have diverse designs almost at all. Its almost too different and difficult to enjoy because of how different it is. Kids certainly would love it as they didn't grow up with it, but as a person who watched every new episode whenever they could growing up, it doesn't hit the same way.
I feel it did suffer the same fate as Teen Titans. To me the new versions feel more directed to very young audiances while before they seemed enjoyable by all. And with the pacing and style it's much harder to get invested in it, I gave up on Teen Titans Go a few years ago because of it.

Children don’t even like this kind of cartoons. It’s almost a slap in the face towards their attention span. But this does remind me a lot of what G3.5 was like. And we all know what an abomination it was, even if it was from over 10 years ago. But it was temporary before we got our beloved and memorable G4. I think this is just a final slice from G4 before we move on to G5, which is uncertain on how the plot, style and characters will look and be like.
Only very young children really enjoy it, which Was the original audience...but its still not great for you either it gets really exhausting
I feel the big problem with Pony Life is that it feels cheap. It feels hashed out for a profit margin. It feels like nothing more than a repeated, varied advert for a new line of toys.
While FiM had rather simple character designs, there was still enough different with each one that you could tell at a glance that two characters were different. That's not really the case here. Take a look at the still taken at around 4:45. Crop the top half of the frame, and suddenly you have a group of 3 and a group of 2 of the same face on the same body in the same pose with the same overall feel. This is a pretty stark contrast with FiM's variances in faces. I mean, even the poster! Pinkie and Dash have the exact same face, just with a chinese bootleg's worth of difference between the two.
The nuances of characters, and their subsequent design, were scrapped for an ADHD toy-buying compulsion spree that's marketed as a show.
Dash’s and shy’s wings are missing as well

The whole thing is ridiculously over-the-top. Everypony breaks the fourth wall, and their personalities are all dialed up to 11.

Pony Life is a simple spin-off that is adorable. As for the complaints.
1. The backgrounds annoyingly connect to four.
2. The complaint about body types was so shallow that you literally said they "look the same." Did not really give an explanation o how it was "bad," merely said the original did it in the early run and pointed out it is cheaper. Honestly, that just lacked substance
3. The complaint about length was just a complaint about simplicity. There was an attempt at criticism, but even with changing the pacing so it is not a half-hour episode at the speed of a five minute one, it was still just the nebulous 'criticism' of "it could have been better."
4. The "no lore" complaint falls flat by virtue of it *not being the same setting.* I know this video basically amounted to "Pony Life is not the same," but complaining about it not having the same lore means nothing when it is clearly not *the same continuity.* Seriously, *what would be the point of a new continuity if it just has **_same continuity?_*
I know it is a personal bias, but I see no merit in the critique of "it could have been something else."
I feel bad for those who will grow up on "Pony Life". Idc what happenes in it, im showing my own children, boy, girl, and everything inbetween, Friendship is Magic.
Between this show and the new "Tell Your Tale" episodes, I'm getting the impression that the showrunners' top priorities had shifted to "5-minute stories are best" and "The main cast simply MUST have access to cell phones!" They've decided that Internet-speed shows are the future, and even if a steady diet of fast food doesn't appeal to you or me... well, McDonalds is still in business.

tbh i just feel like its something Hasbro decided to just do on a whim because it would help them sell more toys and merch, and didnt care if the quality or writing was good
I refuse to watch shows with ADHD pacing like this, as they are a total waste of time. By making sure that the plot is barrelling along as fast as humanly possible at all times no matter what, important moments will never be lingered on to allow you to appreciate them, with the unrelenting pace of the plot riding rough shod over everything. If the plot doesn't care enough to slow down, to let us appreciate the big reveal for more than half a second, why should I invest 10 minutes of my time to give a rats about it?
I kind of feel like pony life just made MLP a generic cartoon. The writers also changed the some of the mane six's personalities, making it frustrating to watch. I heard that G5 will give us a new characters, and if this is true, then I'm very happy about it. Pony life is proof that now that G4 has ended, we should leave the mane 6 alone. Throughout all of MLP FiM, we watched the mane six grow and develop. That's why the plots in pony life are really disappointing to me. They should have gotten past those issues by now. Sorry if my grammar is all over the place, I am absolutely exhausted right now.
I'm all up for new characters but did they really have to make a G 4.5 that left a bad taste in our mouths? I mean- everything that the main 6 stood for besides just friendship is gone. Its like a shell. They reused the characters designs (and STILL got lazy with them despite FiM having simple designs compared to other shows, TTG has some more complex designs than FiM) and shoved an energetic personality down all of their throats. Overall its extremely offputting, even for the hope of Gen 5

Female bronies are called pegasisters, for a short while I was a pegasister named GrungySupreme, who is a teenage pony with blue eyes, grey skin, and brown hair. I interviewed people in the community about hoe they became a brony/pegasister, what there favorite pony is, there experiences, and why I should get into it more. However I just.... disappeared. Fun fact: GrungySupreme had markings making her look like she wore ripped jeans, flannel, and a black t-shirt. She’s modeled to have the same personality as me

I think one major thing too is they made every character short. In the friendship is magic they mostly came in different sizes or at least taller than their counters
Disney, since the very start has a tendency to destroy whatever they buy and re-shifted to their version. This "show" has forced them remove the comments sections from all videos after Gen4. It looks like they took the reference from MLP SWAG and some New School thing that just kills the esence and all their personality, honestly it simply does not work. They are killing the franchise by making the viewers mad, they dont have anything to loose, this is what they do.
