It shocks me that anyone could think the preacher made a coherent argument. His argument was about as logical as him saying because God loves people let them run around naked in the streets and drink poison.

He didn’t just “cave.” He went full blown pervert.
The transgender pastor is preaching the State's Dogma.
Majority of Australian churches are so weak. This pastor has bowed to the pressure of wokeness. It's so sad.
As an Aussie I have to agree :( know of any good ones? I'm all ears.
Postmoderene' Evangelicalism isn't really "conservative"...its main influence isn't the Bible , but rather the persuasive popular entertainment culture, it vainly and lamely attempts to mimic...

@@anarchorepublican5954 Yep. Sad that your comment doesn't have any thumbs up. Says a lot about people doesn't it?
I have to admit, I wasn't expecting professing Christians to cave on this issue - not something so clear and unambiguous! The ones who aren't caving are remaining silent, even as CHILDREN are being abused and mutilated and destroyed. Mind you, these are the same people who were constantly speaking about "justice" and "lamenting" and all the rest in 2020. I'm trying to live for Christ. But I'm seeing people fall by the wayside everywhere. It's so discouraging.
I hear you on the discouragement aspect - swaths of people we thought were faithful brothers and sisters in Christ have chosen faithfulness to culture over faithfulness to Christ. I think the pain for us is in the disillusionment - these people were never committed to faithfulness, even though we assumed they were. But it is better to see clearly and truthfully than to believe what is false. Our past assumptions were false.
There are more with you than you think
I am not surprised. I went to PCA church and after George Floyd died they kept mentioning social justice. I learned that most of the elders had careers where politics played a big role and they were under a lot of pressure to affirm liberal, godless political ideologies. Nowadays, a lot of elders have careers where you have to use "the right pronouns" so we have churches affirming degeneracy.
@@joebrodie I do think you are correct - but many, many keep silent.
@@1Whipperin i am right there with you my friend. It is very disapointing, may God have mercy on us and cause people to truly repent.
The most loving thing a righteous person can do for a trans person is to call them to repentance from their abominable rebellion against the Father.

Reverence is unfortunately rarely practiced in western evangelical churches
As an Australian Christian why did I cringe a little as soon as Doug said "Australian pastor"? Probably because so many seem to be infected with liberalism or are straight up apostate.
Agree
Wow, one of the tens of Christians in Australia is here in the comments, what are the odds?
We have plenty of cringy churches in the US too. Blessings❤
Yep same. The west just needs to look at us to see where they will be in 5 years time
@@cosmictreason2242 hey! You better make that two Aussies! I'm a huge fan of Doug Wilson. Would love to meet him one day but I'm afraid it'll have to wait until the new creation. Since discovering him I have:
1. Become a wife who submits to her husband (obviously I don't do this perfectly yet but I've come a long way!)
2. Started up a classical school with another family in my city. The only one in Australia of its kind, to my knowledge. We started in February with two families and we now have about 30 students.
3. Learnt and grown in so many other areas including but not limited to: traditional, godly femininity (and learning about godly masculinity too), being better informed about politics, government, medicine and productivity.
I doubt Doug will ever see this but I thank God for him and his people very often!!
Other than Sydney Anglicans and a handful of other dioceses, the church in Australia is a liberal mess
Excellent analysis of very confused and irrational thinking masquerading as compassionate God-talk. I have been an Evangelical pastor for over 40 years. I still teach bible and doctrine in a mega-church setting. My critique of modern Evangelicalism and its current crop of pastors is that they are woefully lacking in orthodox theological training. Thanks for taking the time to make this video--it is important.
It starts with the seminaries (with education, which the woke cult has infiltrated). The problem with Christians and conservatives is that we let little things go rather than nipping it in the bud. And here we are.

Yes. They’re mostly “hacks” that have only a adolescent understanding, and believe that’s all they need. As if a 9 year old could be left alone on it’s own to care for itself because he/she can use the bathroom and make toast or a bowl of cereal!
🍼
Couldnt have said it any better. The fact that it took this “pastor” over 22 minutes to even discuss God and the bible is telling. These modern evangelical leaders are 1 by 1 showing their real allegiance, and it isn’t to the infallible Word of God, but to the whims of society. Allowing culture to dictate what the churches does and says rather then relying on the word of God for truth and direction.
Truly disgusting. I hate when people like this try to lecture me on a christian worldview when their worldview of christianity is so skewed.
Their world view isn’t Christian, it’s a secular world view. He pretty clearly read scripture then immediately ignored it and said exactly what a secularist would say “you have to accept my truth and feelings above what the word of God clearly states.” Sad
Thank you for your honestly and love of our Lord Jesus Christ Doug . Love and blessings from Sydney Australia.
Amen Doug so important to remember 1 corinthians 13 " love rejoices with the truth"
These types always avoid using the Bible to back up their claims. Notice he can't use a verse, a story, etc to back up anything he is saying?

Well then, since the love of Christ knows no limits, does this pastor believe we should cater to the delusions of schizophrenics? Should we tell the guy who talks to the refrigerator that he doesn’t need meds, he just needs to introduce us to his friends in the refrigerator?
@Gus Chambers lol what are you even talking about? This was a rhetorical question pointing out the absurdity of catering to others delusions and all you could come up with was “I’m going to call this guy a groomer”? 😂. Such a Christian way to act. God is so proud of you. God bless.
The problem here is the definition of love. We believe that the most loving thing to do is to encourage people to be like Christ as much as possible. These people think that love is validating anything the other person says.

I actually know this pastor by aquantanice, he leads a large church that comes under the umbrella of the Anglican diocese where I was ordained. I always thought of him as a thoroughly orthodox and conservative Christian leader, but I was extremely shocked and disappointed when he preached this message. I'm not sure if he actually believes transgenderism is acceptable biblically or if he's just obfuscating to avoid arousing the ire of the secular powers around him. Either way it was very sad to see him go so soft. Melbourne is one of the most aggressively anti-Christian cities in Australia and his church meets in the rented premises of an inner city cinema so perhaps he was afraid of preaching the truth boldly for fear of being tossed out of the cinema under Melbourne's new hate speech laws which are frighteningly comprehensive in their scope. I believe this was part of a topical series he preached dealing with contemporary cultural issues. FYI I'm not attempting to justify his failure to preach God's truth here, I'm just providing context and reflecting.
Amen my brother in the Lord, your brother in Jesus Christ 🙏 🙌

Acts 29 is a church planting network.
I am in agreement with your final analysis. I tend to believe that darkness is the natural state and when the light does not shine, guess what? you get to see the darkness. The darkness does not increase, the darkness is always there. It is the natural state. What happens is, that the light shines in darkness and exposes just how dark the darkness is, and what's really going on. Everyone in Christianity knows John 3:16. How many know John 3:19? _19 And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil._
This seems to be an issue with a younger generation that is permeated with a love of the natural man. *Can someone tell me, in what way does the natural man bear the image of God?* In brief, the "image of God" in no small way, is, "spiritual". God is Spirit. God breathed the breath of life and Adam became a living soul. All life, is not spiritual, except for man, Adam and Eve. The chip, the dog, the cat, the horse do not have an image of God. They are brute beasts.
The real problem with this "cave on transgenderism" is that it is complete and total flesh or in the natural. They try to resolve Isaiah 53:6 in the natural. _Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray and we have turned, everyone to his own way (this includes the trans) But the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all._ Be That As It May, the beginning of the Gospel is "REPENT." And repent in the OT was to turn from going our own way, back to God. And Jesus is the acceptable sacrifice for theiniquity of going our own way. However, we still need to stop going our own way and return or repent. BTAIM, is seems that some in this young generation want to keep their way. It appears that they believe that they can hold God hostage because of John 3:16. They need to better understand just what the image of God is, regarding man.
1 Corinthians 2:14
But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
"Therefore I swore to the house of Eli, ‘The guilt of Eli’s house will never be atoned for by sacrifice or offering.’” (1 Samuel chapter three)
This clip makes me so sad... These people are under a strong delusion... God help us all.

I have been a Christian for over 50 years. What is Act 29 network? Looking for a new home church and they had Acts 29 brochures on the welcoming table.
I looked them up online. Not in my brain as a go to resource.
Acts 29 is a church planting network. Unfortunately, the organization has gone pretty woke. I don’t know how deep the rot goes as far as individual churches, but I would exercise caution.
It's a church planting network, I became a member of one while in college, it was theologically very solid and I would absolutely become a member of one again. It should be noted though that Acts 29 is not a denomination, nor are churches in the network required to have any specific denominational affiliation. And the clip of this pastor is a reminder to me that there are many false teachers, using man-made labels (like Acts 29, or denominational affiliations) for things which are generally pretty solid
Dude….The thumbnail of Doug Wilson’s wide eyes?! You know something went down!!
This Christian society is growing up with low back pains because they are always told to "lean in":to.
How does lying to people show the love of Christ!
Without using the term “transgender”, this is simply prosperity gospel…”i can do all things…”

So, where does it stop?
God doesn’t love the other people who are suffering from feeling that we in society says are wrong and destructive.
The Cambridge Dictionary defines transgenderism as the condition of someone feeling that they are not the same gender (= sex) as the one they had or were said to have at birth.
Q. What is the best way for me to relate to someone who has that condition?
A. Stop pretending that you or I need to treat that person any differently than we would treat it if it didn’t have those “feelings”.
Q. What is the best way for me to relate to someone who demands that I treat it differently because of those “feelings”?
A. Just say no.
That, by the way, includes saying no to the use of the word, “transgenderism” as if there really is such a thing or that it matters.
I don’t have any right to deny employment to someone on the basis of something about which he has no control - his skin color for example. I do have a God-given right, however, to deny employment to someone who demands special status or privileges.
Observant Hebrews, for example, may request accommodation to their diet, their weekly work schedules or even their observance of annual feast days and fast days (when they consider it a way of honoring the creator to do no work on those days). Demanding accommodation, however, is another thing entirely.

A person may have the right to be stupid, but why should Christians need to “lean into it?” Is it loving to introduce various forms of sexual “expressions” to elementary school children, and all without even the hint of criticism? Is it unbiblical to tell your 17 year old son that he is not allowed to paint his finger nails and wear makeup as long as he’s living under your roof?
I don’t get it.. you want various “forms of sexual expression” to be critiqued in elementary school? Also, if your son is 17 and wants to paint his fingernails you should let him - he’s almost a legal adult and if you alienate him now you may never see him again. David Bowie, Kurt Cobain, Keith Richards, Lou Reed, and many more men all painted their nails.

The cult of the “Nice Jesus.”
I think you missed his point, he talks about us all being made in the image of God at the start so that we Christians would treat them as such, and then he is thinking about ways we could treat them as such. If a uni-sex bathroom would help a person who is confused feel safe to attend church then that’s great. I don’t know if it would, but that’s a different argument. And it’s not about caving to other people’s delusions, it’s just about thinking through the best ways to help them through them.
Does God love unrepentant sinners? I think not his wrath/ hate is upon them. God loves those who love Him. Those who love God love his commands.
I wonder if anyone walked out during this supposed sermon. I don’t think this so-called preacher realizes he’ll be held to a higher level of accountability (James 3:1) when he meets the Lord face-to-face after departing this planet. He’s clearly unqualified.
