At 24, God is pulling me from a life of debauchery and homosexuality and so now, being at a place with no father and a distant mother, I’m really having to teach myself-letting God teach me the definition of true masculinity. I seek mentors and men of God and they are here and there to find. But this teaching truly blessed me Pastor Washer. Thank you.
@@jltotheb5550 I need brotherhood, this is so lacking in church, and I wish to have some men who see the importance of biblical masculinity and grow together !
@@yourdarling616 i hear ya ma man. There is a new (new to me) wave of masculinity that is Godless and is self idolization (aka the Tate bros) that needs to be counter balanced with biblical masculinity. Im taking steps in life right now to be physically, mentally, spiritually stronger. I'm doing what i can, with what God has given me. I wont be the bad servant who buried his masters investment just to give it back to him. Matthew 25:14. I'm investing in myself so i can invest into others. How about you?
I want to thank all of you in Christ. I have recently joined a men’s fellowship group and together we are reading the book Kingdom Man by Tony Evans! I highly highly highly recommend. Thank you all brother for your kind words and encouragement. Just to know I’m loved and supported brings me to tears 🥹
Honestly, this book ‘Raising Warriors: Preparing Your Children For a Godly Life’ gave me the encouragement I needed to stay strong in raising my kids with Christian values, it’s comforting to know Im not alone on this journey
Um no! If anything it's women who are self absorbed. I can't tell you how many times I have tried going out on dates with women. I tried my hardest to get to know them, to find anything that we have in common. I did everything in my power to put her first and all she would do is act bored. I wasn't trying to get into her pants. I actually didn't have ulterior motives. I just wanted to have a pleasant meal with the lady in question. I had to drag every word out of her! American women are so entitled. I can't tell you how sick of the culture I am. As a man, I continuously am lectured to about what I need to bring to the table, about how I need to do this or that. What about the woman? What does she need to bring to the table? I get to work my ass off to provide for s woman. Then when she gets bored of me she discards me like trash. Worse yet is she takes the kids. She also takes the house and most of my assets. Then I get to start over again broke and alone. The minute she finds a guy she is serious about, she immediately will push to erase me from my children's lives. As men we are nothing more than sperm donors and ATM machines for women. And society wonders why men are avoiding marriage?! Maybe, just maybe there are now roughly 3 generations of men who have seen their fathers, brothers, cousins and friends worked over in court. My biological father was a drug addict, womanizing, alcoholic lowlife. It was good that the courts sided with my mother and kept him away from us, but what about the other 97% or so of kids who do have good dads?
I was watching that at home by myself and I clapped when he said that because God has recently called me to expand my concept of love as a single. He did not disappoint when I finally said yes. I found a wonderful woman of God who wanted same things: authentic Godly partner, family and unity but here was the catch: God had just called her to a six month sabbatical from dating and here I was excited and ready. Love waits and so I decided to find out what that is and it is every bit giving love away. So I realized the road ahead was to partner with her as a friend on this sabbatical and support her freely without expectation of return. This is the mission, to love sacrificially and trust God through it all. Brothers it is not easy because I was self absorbed to some degree. I have let it go so that I could be the man God has called me to be. It is a daily fight but God is faithful to finish what he has started. Pray for me please that Christ would be glorified. Thanks
@@Alexander44665 Brother I’m sorry, I was married for 25 and the wife did the same sorta. I was a jerk and knew little about Gods love really. But the truth be told Gods plan for us is just that what Paul said, but if you are willing, run to the love of Father and work this out as a single, work in the local church with your extra time and see what he’ll do.
Remember the Sabbath (As God says in the fourth commandment), my brothers and sisters. Hebrews 4:8-10 KJV 8 For If Jesus had given them rest, then would He not afterword spoken of another DAY. 9 There remaineth therefore a REST (rest translated to the original scripture is SABBATH) to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest (sabbath), he also hath ceased from his works like God did. The coming mark of the beast (beast means kingdom, see Daniel 7:23) will be the international sunday law and it will come in the form of climate sunday. The mark of God is the Sabbath. Emperor Constantine converted to christianity in 321 a.d. but he didnt want to let his old self die. He changed pagan holidays to christian ones like christmas for example which is the pagan holiday ‘saturnalia’ where they sacrificed children to saturn (satan). The Messiah was 33 when he died at the cross around the first week of april and he was 34 when he made his ascension, some weeks later, how can His date of birth be in december? The catholic church followed in the footsteps of Constantine, because emperor Justinianus empowered Vigilius to become the first leader (pope) of the whole christian world in 538 a.d. They changed the restday from saturday to sunday and some centuries later pope Gregorius even changed the names and sequence of the days and sequence of the months in the calender that we follow now, the gregorian calender, named after him. For example december is named after the Latin word deca = 10. November comes from novum = 9. October comes from octa = 8. September comes from septa = 7. The original seventh day is the saturday. In some languages such as Spanish, Italian and Portugese, saturday is still named SABADO/SABATO. God bless. Kevin Insta @dederdewacht
David was a King, and simped after another man’s wife, and got him killed then proceeded to cover it all up with lies. Literally the complete opposite of what a masculine man would do. Jesus is the best example of what true masculinity is, but besides Him would be Samson.
Hello brothers and sisters. I would just like to recommend that everyone read the book ‘Raising Warriors: Preparing Your Children For a Godly Life’. Reading that book was the best desicion I ever made.
I asked a taxidriver in Colombia about his country... "Why do you think this country is a mess?" Man here are not faithfull was his response. These men end up in high positions and they are not able to run a home; a family, and now they will run the country. Kids grow up without good father's... This was a conversation I will never forget; almost 25 years ago.
Exactly, men need to practice what are often considered "feminine" characteristics like running a home. If men model themselves after Christ they will end up serving more by washing dishes, doing laundry, and spending time with kids.
@@timhutton6786 But, by doing this, we are conflating our masculine responsibilities with feminine ones, that your wife should be dealing with. Since a marriage is the sum of the two parts, they have to act in colaboration so both can reap the rewards: a safe and comfy home, happy relationships, good mental health, strength of character and a example to be followed by their kids. I agree about spending time with the kids, however, since this is something meant to be done by both parents.
We literally have to always say no to ourselves. Heavy is our burden. But this is meant to be good news. When we say no to ourselves, our selfish desires have no power over us, and we become and do what God does for us - we serve, we love, we make life better for everyone. When we pursue our own selfishness, ultimately all we end up doing is destroying either ourselves or others in the process whether we realize it or not. Selfless service is God's way of protecting us, forcing us to trust him, and being the greatest blessing we can be to others.
Eh, it was kinda secular for the first half until @6:51 … listen to Paul talking ab toughness, calloused hands, cinder block lifting… which anyone considers manly.. but then He gets corrected by the interviewer very gently in that it’s the inner man strength that matters
@@byronloves7472 i wouldn’t say corrected, because the interviewer brings up the inner characteristics that Paul talked about right before the calloused fingers and cinderblock lifting and whatnot
That part was secular and I doubt he has calloused hands. The second part was relevant but equally applies to womanhood. Biblical personhood is about seeking Christ and growing in the character of God (likely not through training to fight and use violence).
@@timhutton6786 inner strength it’s all of the Lord, nothing of us. He strengthened our inner man. Our strength comes from the Lord, overall it’s a good discussion!
My son and I love Paul Washer so he’ll watch this for sure as well…. We listened to his sermons on courting etc etc…. Awesome as always. Another recommendation would be Voddie Baucham ‘biblical manhood’ . There is one for woman as well which is great. We watched both these ones with our son and daughter. He is to the point and it was good to hear he is a good friend of Paul as well. God bless. 🙏🏻☺️
You are making a BIG mistake by sending this video to your sons. As a Christian man who was abused by his wife and daughters to the point of suicide, I'm so sick and tired of listening to crap like this from a weak man of character misrepresenting Jesus Christ with his own view of masculinity with no reference to the responsibilities and accountabilities of a wife. No man should sacrifice and put his life on the line for abusive women and children who believe the nonsense this idiot is saying. This is exactly why women have little thanks and appreciation for the sacrifices men make for their wives and children because they believe idiots like this and develop an entitlement mentality as a result. This too is also exactly how female abuse becomes NORMALISED in families. The typical repertoire of female abuses such as mental and emotional abuse, financial abuse, verbal abuse and physical abuse all become NORMALISED in women by weak men like this effectively becoming cheer leaders for feminists to abuse their husbands under the false teaching of husbands being "sacrificial lambs". What utter crap, false teaching and no balancing of the the roles and accountabilities of a wife. Men, go to the scriptures and seek out the teaching of John MacArthur. Masculinity is not defined by women.
@@JohnSmith-zo6ir You misunderstand Paul Washer here. John MacArthur would no problem with what was said here. Men are supposed to model Jesus and be sacrificial. Ephesians 5 clearly says husbands love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. Sacrifice. John, do not let bitterness cloud your thinking. I agree 100% women should be held accountable and yes both men and women need to know their roles. But teachings like this aren’t saying to put up with abuse. Your taking Paul’s words here and turning it into “let women walk all over you because that’s what sacrifice is” when that is not it at all. Paul Washer is not a weak man and simply would not put up with the abuse. Of course, situations are always more complex (as I’m sure yours is) than that and I don’t want to oversimplify a complex problem. But have some accountability for yourself too. You can still be a man that lives sacrificially, while also having boundaries for how you are treated.
It’s been hard for me not having a masculine role model. I did when I was younger but ever since I was around 11-12 years old after my dad moved things have been distant between me and him, now at 20 years old going on 21 Lord willing, it’s been hard to stand firm and be super manly and strong when I face hardship at times, sometimes the scars that I thought were gone still rear their ugly heads and weigh me down, God has helped a lot but I still have so much to improve on and sometimes catch myself down and heartbroken, but I know God will get me there eventually. Please pray for me if you’re willing.
You're very young. 20-21 is nothing. None of us are perfect. But you doing the right thing, or trying to, is good for all of humanity. Don't think your successes mean nothing, because everything you do right affects all the rest of us in a positive way. And if you fall, know that we've fallen there also. And we're still standing, and working, and still going. The work is never done until Jesus gets back. And that's not a bad thing. It's a great thing, because it gives us something to do until Jesus gets back. Never give up. If you get a surplus, give to others, and you'll have more to give away, and you can start to really be able to provide for others.
Surround yourself with strong men of God. If you are not part of a church, you can reply on this comment if you want suggestions of a church. You need the right men around you
This actually hit me. I almost feel heard that what men really want is a calling to serve and love is their strength. The love of God, the love of Jesus Christ.
This is what a man was designed and purposed for by God. Women are looking for this and yet there are few to be found. May we men step up to the plate and start acting like real men! Thank you Paul!!!
I dont think it works like that in today's generation. Nowadays, plenty of women are looking for abusive "bad boys" because of their daddy issues, they chase guys who don't show them interest (they like the chase) or just a drug dealing gangster because they fit the whole masculine frame.
Amen to that! From a sister who thinks that there are too many men with skinny jeans today who don't want to work because then their hair style could get destroyed.....
The Bible says that followers of Jesus are to be living sacrifices to Christ. Where does it specifically say that men are supposed to sacrifice themselves for women and children? Chapter and verse please.
@@theawesomegameguychannel4562 that’s right. Men of God like Paul Walker are going to tell you to marry these sisters up after they had their fun. You aren't a real man unless you are a sacrifice remember? Real men are active participants in the sacrament of self denial.
@@theawesomegameguychannel4562 Wrong.. I have unfortunately ended up with those types of men, I didn't want that type of man but ended up with one. I cannot tell you how awful and damaging that was to me as a woman. I have always looked for a biblical Godly man and these men NEED to follow the Lord in all his ways. God Bless
Okay , but does he have to be 6 feet, 6 figures, and have a 6 pack ? Many women say they want this, but if he's not a handsome Chad , they're not interested or giving him a try. I'm not saying you , but I am saying the majority of women in the current generation or two
You should be. My father didn't-he was always absorbed in work and didn't really spend time with his sons. I lost my wife and child because of the exact thing Paul Washer is telling us to avoid. Putting it into action, despite all the prayer and good intentions, is so much harder because it wasn't beat into me as a child.
Paul Washer is a Teacher, A father and a friend in his life, He loves the children of God... His life is defined by the fruit of the spirit which is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, & Self-Control
Every man in the world needs to watch this, no matter how sanctified or depraved. Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-control. Wisdom. Strength. Courage. That is masculinity.
The Word of God is sufficient. I searched all the translations of the Bible just now for the words "masculine" and "masculinity" and none of them had one instance of those words. These are modern ideas, and modern problems for the lost and unsaved people in the world, but God has saved those who believe in and follow Jesus. He's saved us from having to even think about "gender roles", or wondering what it is to be a "real man". If you follow Jesus, you're a real man. If a woman follows Jesus, she's a real woman. "For God made them man and woman", and he did it right. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
@@SeeSawMassacre You know you're right, Christians should care less about gender and yet we usually seem to care about it more. The church should have been at the forefront for many of the social changes around gender and yet it wasn't.
I want to be a stay a - home wife and mum. I want to be the primary caregiver & educator of my children and also be a submissive help-meet to my husband. I pray for a man Pastor Washer is talking about..
biblical manhood ??? I see things different *(let me attach you sir, my point if being Biblical, here):* nice explained. There are also a few verses we should watch better as we can; for example Ephesians, Chapter 5 verse 32... in this verse i see that in the whole context Ap. Paul teached us that there is NOT about the Man and his wifes, but about Christ and The Church(there is a hidden secret Ap.Paul explains!); i mean, in the book of revelation Chist apear walking between 7 Churchees, and there are also 7 angels of those churches... that means there are many, not just one(and Ap.John did not understand this secret, first)! If a man has more then a single wife, *He cannot sacriffice himself JUST for One, but for all!* In Isaiah chapter 3 is about the same situation: *the daughters (plural!) of Sion* are emancipated, and God wish to have us humbled ! Is a nice try to give us the example of Jessus Christ (from Ephesians Chapter 5)... but *Jessus was not married!* He hadth no wife/s to sacriffice for his familly ! *(and when His disciples in Mathew 19 said that is better for a man to remain alone / single, Jessus did NOT contradict them, but agreed with 👍 !)* And Ap Paul, Timothy, Titus, Elijah, Daniel, and soo many other man of God remained allone... *(do we walk on their food steps?)* Let me tell you something moore: *Read Isaiah chapter 4 verse 1* and understand where goes this day's the familly, because of woman's emancipation ! *(Paul Washer did not continued the ideea from Isaiah chapter 3, but reading the first verse from chapter 4 you will understand that is from the same context!)* We are not Jessus Christ to die, for others may live! *Someone allready did that for all humanity, and He was PURE !* We do not need to die for our family to redeem them, because there was Jessus the *(ONLY)* whorty Lamb of God! I'f a wife goes sexy on the streets wearing man's clothings, and someone rape her, is the job of her's husband to get there with a gun dying for "her's name" ? *Actually, the Bible teach us something else !* Remember the 10 wifes King David left behind to take care for the house; they were raped by Absalom, and what was happening with them, later? *Did King David died for them?* We do not preach the Biblical Truth, i'f we are NOT seeing the whole picture! I verily like the works of P. W. but i must disagree him because he is not Christ, but JUST living A PART of Christ. *Just imagine* God did NOT hadth the REDEMPTION PLAN *(in Christ - as Ap. Paul teaches)* from the verry begining, before He started creating the world... just *imagine* that He was willing to create strong, unfallen humans to became other kind of angels, to fullfil His Kingdom... imagine He create Adam multiple wifes, *7, for example!* What i'f Eve was still wishing *to be like God,* listening to the Old serpent... *how was Adam acting in this situation..?* Because Adam was NOT THERE while Eve was speaking with the Old serpent... she dissobey ; and the Lord of the WHOLE World because was NOT THERE (at the door) for his dissobediant wife, he felt for her and died, together with the who'll world !!! Yes, was LOVE... but *because of this "Love", P. W. preaches,* the first and strongest Man, did felt and died ! He choosed to turn his back to his Father for a single but beautiful woman! *(i heard to be called "Honey trap!")* *No, my brethrens!!!* I don't wanna be a victim anymore! When we are trying to have this *("so called") RIGHTEOUSNESS* we will fall like other *Great man of God* : King David felt for Bat-Sheba, and Solomon was bounded by ..? *(too many wifes???)* NO ! by love! There is a great name of our day's too: Ravi Zacharias! *Just imagine, Ravi was understanding the context of Isaiah 4:1 as it is written... imagine he was treaten this "love" as a Poligin of the Bible : *Just imagine Ravi was like Mozes* , in the book of Numbers, chapter 12, When Miriam(Moses sister) turned into a leprous woman for a week *(because disagreeing poliginy!)* ... what do you think, Ravi hadth a chance ? *Wake up, christians around the World!* Is time to get away from any kind of religiousness! *Be and live Biblical(acording to the Scriptures!)* There are many examples of disciples and other great Man of God remaining allone or being poligin! Don't sacriffice your life or future familly for a woman *(who may be jessebelic as Miriam was!!!)* Ap. Paul teaches in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 *how to be A LEADER of the church (a Presbiter, Diacon, or Bishop)* , but not all Men of God were leaders of the church, and *also we do know that Ap. Paul get inspired from the Law o God (Deuteronomy 17:17)* Just read the context carefully and understand *why is that Law for the Kings there?* Why should a a Leader DO NOT have (too) Many wifes??? There is an answer, Ap. Paul use in the Timothy and Titus context, tooken from the Law, from here! *But, i'f a Man is NOT a King, Bishop, Presbiter or Diacon, and still have several wifes He does not commit adultery or other sins !* Does your church teach you that??? *What bible do you read???* this is a *"Wake up" call* Be a Man in your family, *as it is written!* Amen ?! *May the Peace of the Son be uppon the Sons of Peace and over their hones!* Amen .
@@Daremato very true, marriage recognized by the most high is between two believers, a wife that submits to her husband and a husband that loves his wife, both submitting in the spirit to the Lord. A man can't give himself up for a wayward woman.
Thank you Paul. So blessed by this. The world gets this so wrong especially with jargon like alpha this, beta that and high value man. The ultimate man (and God made flesh) is Jesus Christ. We must keep our eyes on Christ and follow Him, cling to Him. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is who we as Christians (little Christs) aspire to be.
I wish my dad would have taught me these things. Praise the Lord, that while that set me back, God is seeing fit to teach a proud fool how to be a man of His.

Jonny - I just stumbled upon your videos very recently. These interview clips, with some of the greatest preachers of our time, are such a blessing and I pray that it will be shared and viewed by millions. I am going to start watching your series on John this weekend (I watched a bit after seeing your first video with Pastor Johnny Mac) and I sincerely hope that you would find the time to do another series. I read a comment about plans to cover Ecclesiastes - that would be wonderful. God bless you.
I get the points of sacrificial love and service because that is what Jesus did but what does lifting blocks have to do with biblical masculinity? I know Jesus turned over the change tables in the temple but it didnt say anywhere that he lifted weights before doing it. I pray God give men the grace to love & serve their families & communities more.
Thanks for this…. Love Paul’s wisdom and the way he explains the questions. It’s a difficult and broken society we live in but as godly Christian parents we need to teach our sons and even our daughters Gods design for each of them. May God stir the hearts of men and women to live the way God wants them to live and to lead always with Love and follow Christ example. God bless 🙏🏻💕
@HANUNIJA5 this has nothing to do with Paul message. And what you saying is so not scriptural. Where do you get that Baptist is part of salvation? If you read scripture baptism doesn’t save you…. It’s by faith through grace alone not of works Ephesians 2:8-9. Man your theology is really twisted. Sorry but I won’t send this out as it’s false.
@HANUNIJA5 yes that born again is talking about rebirth/salvation in Christ. Not baptism. I’m not here to debate so please don’t send any more Bible bits out of context or force your view on others as to get your false message out to others… Your message has got nothing to do with what the original content of the video was on about.
This is such a helpful and universally true lesson. My Dad was an unbeliever. He was a Mason, and so I spent all my free time as a boy, carrying cinder blocks, mixing and wheeling cement, and pouring concrete. Our house was heated by firewood, and so my brother and I would spend hours every week cutting, splitting, and stacking wood for our family. When I was a boy, I hated it. Now, I am very thankful that my dad made me work hard. Every job I have ever had has been easy by comparison.
Great message!!! I would like to add that it's not only Christian men to be "the protector, provider... for their family, that is the role of all men - believers and non-believers because that is how God designed it.
Very grateful for Paul Washer’s humility. I definitely don’t agree with him on all things, but he is one of the most humble leaders of the modern American Reformed movement.
@@israel5346 Years ago his tone was quite harsh. I still remained intrigued by his messages still. He has since become more humble about a number of things (for whatever reason), and strives to give more grace to the other side while also maintaining his position.
How does this video have 9 “dislikes”? Who would dislike this great talk about being a real man! This is the kind of tree I need to sit under every day. I have never had a man, except for my own father, to say STRAIGHT OUT, be a MAN; for your family, for your children, for your children’s children. Thank you for making this video.
We had a foundation built for hour house on 17 acres with cinder blocks. We had probably a hundred left over after it was finished. My dad would make me and my brother carry them from one end of the property to the next. When we finished he would say, "Now move them back." At the time I never understood it and was bitter about it. I'm now 37yo and completely understand his reasoning for it. That segment really hit home for me.
Brother Paul Washer thank you for this video as a young husband I have been mislead on what it means to be a Godly husband until today Praise God Almighty for this wisdom
This is chivalrous and a brave and a BIBLICAL view of true masculinity - It sounds just like our Heavenly Father who cares for every man, woman, child - family.
You know, my love has brought me little joy. . Mostly just heart ach, periodically to the points where I wonder what is the point. . It just seems more like being forgotten than anything else. Now that's just me, hopefully everyone else is getting their blessings though, I'll remain happy to see it. . It gives me hope.
I'm in tears right now, in a culture where physicality & toughness, big muscles & so on is everything, me growing up being more artistic, always felt less than masculine, always had 2 fight 4 it, the example of the dude that was so scared of basically everything, but than he said love 4 Jesus, that just teared me up, sacrificial love❤
This is a timely blessing, looking for strength in leadership within the church, and what it looks like to have biblical manhood, such an important message. Gods blessings🙌
This was really good! Thank you. It’s really tru when you think about it; that love is what makes a man brave! If you love someone deeply then you will fight hard for them. 👌🏼🌟
Part of me feels hopeless because I've never been a physically or emotionally strong dude. Growing up, I was always softspoken and sensitive, and not at all a rough person, and it wasn't instilled in me either. Work in progress, I suppose, but I sometimes wonder if I can live up to any of this...
I was willing to take a bullet for my wife. I did everything to love and support her, our family and her extended family. Started our marriage with a unity with Christ. We have three beautiful successful children, 27 years i did my responsibility my conscience is clear. I gave my life to her. She lost her way and became Gomer, and I was Hosea.
I would love to see Paul have a chat with Jordan Peterson. Both of these guys have real answers for boys/men that are lost or just searching for purpose. The answer is SERVE others. Take on RESPONSIBILITY
Paul Washer is one of the truth based preachers that I admire and listen a lot. This is a great topic to bring out. Could I suggest an interview with Bob of Speakers Corner, he is one of the well-learned and true acting apologists who is an ardent proponent of precisely this idea of Muscular and Masculine Christianity.
There's never been a noble and righteous government. Government is made up of too many people who love their power to the detriment of We the People. Thank God The Kingdom that Yeshua planted and is to come is more than just a "government". Peace
They won't take it the same way because you are a woman ,so there are things you don't understand natural things that you can't understand, like the urge to fight
The Bible is God's loving instruction to man, and woman. Any man who follows God's Word is a real man, and any woman who follows God's Word is a real woman. The modern confusion about gender is a problem for nonbelievers, but this is just one of innumerable things God has saved those who believe in His Son, Jesus, from.
Interesting The interviewer reminds me of this generation and how men sound today In tone. I always thought that Paul sounded more MrsWasher nights have sounded. But after hearing the voice of this young man I'm reminded of how far we have come away from manliness. I don't mean to be intrusive just observation. I pray this young man is also godly regardless of how he's sounds. I'll listen to more of this ministry to better understand. What Paul reminds me of is what godly fathers ought to sound like in heart. May we learn this lesson and serve our families. Thank you for this interview. God bless this ministry with godliness and grace!
Really enjoyed this. Thank you. I was thinking about servant leadership as a husband a few days ago and realizing it's the process of taking the lead in showing Divine Love to our families so was good to hear this being discussed in this video as our action of sacrifice.
Not too long ago, I had a conversation with a Christian couple (mainly the wife) who argued that gender roles in marriage are fluid. I brought up all the examples Paul Washer mentioned in this video. Their response was that a woman can do the same things- such as being strong and providing for the family. I think some in the church have adopted so much of feminism and worldly ideology. It's not about whether or not women can handle themselves or be strong, it's about who's ROLE is it to primarily lead, take charge, protect and provide. It is the man's role. PERIOD. This, of course, has to be filtered through the love Christ has for the church. The fact that this is such a controversial topic speaks volumes.
@Richard Fox If you're a Biblical person, you'd adhere to this. Gender roles are not fluid, period. Like I said, we've gotten so caught up in nuance and feminism that we think traditional masculinity and femininity is the problem. It's not.
@Richard Fox We can agree to disagree, but I will tell you that the rise of feminism started for a noble cause: to get women equal rights as men. Third wave feminism essentially diminishes men and postulates the idea that women should fill men's role, which is not true. Single mothers are constantly hard-pressed trying to carry on both roles. Masculinity is not a bad thing. I'm willing to bet that if a burglar broke into your house, you wouldn't expect your wife to take care of the intruder. You would take care of it. That's an objective example of a man's role and masculinity. Again, I think Paul Washer does a great job in this video.
@Richard Fox I agree that women can be very successful police officers, soldiers or doctors. I also agree that men can be successful nurses, flower arrangers, or care workers. I never argued against that. The point I made is that roles in a God-ordained marriage are not gender fluid- which is Biblical. I also proved this with my example of single mothers. There are clearly different roles the father and mother play. They are not interchangeable. The moment one attempts to carry both masculine and feminine roles, it can become detrimental. Also, just by the scientific fact that men are generally built with thicker bones, higher testosterone, and more muscle mass than women makes men more fit for certain roles. God made Adam and Eve differently for a reason. And there's nothing misogynistic about that. It's just the way it is. Yes, there are exceptions, not all men are the same. The same goes for women. But God raised up the man to be the leader and the head/covering over the woman in marriage. You can take that up with God. Also, I think I made my point with the burglar analogy. It's one thing if a woman lives alone, but if a burglar breaks into a married couples home, it is the man's role to protect his family and to lead them to safety, period. I know people who have expressed the same things you've said, but then reality hit them the moment a burglar broke into their house. All of a sudden, the very independent woman hid under the bedsheets while the man took care of it. In that moment, it's about who's ROLE it is to handle the burglar downstairs- who's most likely a man. It's about who's role it is to lead the charge. It's not about theory or nuance in that moment. I think we both could agree that you would not send your wife to take care of the burglar. Most likely, you'd tell your wife to call 911 while you dealt with the burglar. And that's also my point regarding gender roles. It's not about occupation, but the role instead. The last thing I'll say is that women generally do not seek out a man to take care of the man. They don't initially seek to put a roof over a man's head. It's generally the other way around. And that's for a reason. Gender roles are not oppressive, but I believe it's a part of the ensemble harmony between men and women. It's a part of what makes us different. We are different, and that's okay.
@@alexavasquez1992 Absolutely, but this chapter DOES NOT say that women are the head/covering over the men in a God-ordained marriage (1 Corinthians 11:3). This is the man's role. A Proverbs 31 woman is not looking to put a roof over a man's head either. I'd imagine you would agree.
Great stuff Jonny. When do you think you’ll have your dad on the show? I’d like to see that. When I was born again, he was the first person I knew to turn to for good preaching. He hit the nail on the head when he said the greatest problem with men today is self absorption......and not sacrificial love.
Pun intended...
Remember the Sabbath (As God says in the fourth commandment), my brothers and sisters.
Hebrews 4:8-10 KJV
8 For If Jesus had given them rest, then would He not afterword spoken of another DAY.

DAVID is an example of godly masculinity. He wasn't perfect -but he was a man after God's heart.
JESUS is the supreme Example.
David always seemed like a weak man imo.
David was a King, and simped after another man’s wife, and got him killed then proceeded to cover it all up with lies. Literally the complete opposite of what a masculine man would do. Jesus is the best example of what true masculinity is, but besides Him would be Samson.

Amen.
Amen, Lord Jesus Christ, we love You!
Very biblical, Christ is our pattern to follow! A man of character it’s so important!

Yes our family love Paul Washer and Voddie they are a huge blessing to our household!
The way he broke down the direct link between self-sacrifice and real love. He opened my eyes more to what it REALLY means

I dont think it works like that in today's generation. Nowadays, plenty of women are looking for abusive "bad boys" because of their daddy issues, they chase guys who don't show them interest (they like the chase) or just a drug dealing gangster because they fit the whole masculine frame.

Every man in the world needs to watch this, no matter how sanctified or depraved.
Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-control. Wisdom. Strength. Courage. That is masculinity.
There is nothing inherently masculine about any of that. Not unless you think that women are somehow less capable of it.
If a woman follows Jesus, she's a real woman. biblical manhood ???
I see things different
*(let me attach you sir, my point if being Biblical, here):*
nice explained.
There are also a few verses we should watch better as we can;
for example Ephesians, Chapter 5 verse 32...
in this verse i see that in the whole context Ap.
If a man has more then a single wife, *He cannot sacriffice himself JUST for One, but for all!*
In Isaiah chapter 3 is about the same situation: *the daughters (plural!) of Sion* are emancipated, and God wish to have us humbled !
Is a nice try to give us the example of Jessus Christ (from Ephesians Chapter 5)... but *Jessus was not married!* He hadth no wife/s to sacriffice for his familly !
*(and when His disciples in Mathew 19 said that is better for a man to remain alone / single, Jessus did NOT contradict them, but agreed with 👍 !)*
And Ap Paul, Timothy, Titus, Elijah, Daniel, and soo many other man of God remained allone...
*(do we walk on their food steps?)*
Let me tell you something moore:
*Read Isaiah chapter 4 verse 1* and understand where goes this day's the familly, because of woman's emancipation !
*(Paul Washer did not continued the ideea from Isaiah chapter 3, but reading the first verse from chapter 4 you will understand that is from the same context!)*
We are not Jessus Christ to die, for others may live! *Someone allready did that for all humanity, and He was PURE !*
We do not need to die for our family to redeem them, because there was Jessus the *(ONLY)* whorty Lamb of God!
I'f a wife goes sexy on the streets wearing man's clothings, and someone rape her, is the job of her's husband to get there with a gun dying for "her's name" ?
*Actually, the Bible teach us something else !*
Remember the 10 wifes King David left behind to take care for the house; they were raped by Absalom, and what was happening with them, later? *Did King David died for them?*
We do not preach the Biblical Truth, i'f we are NOT seeing the whole picture!
I verily like the works of P. W. but i must disagree him because he is not Christ, but JUST living A PART of Christ.
*Just imagine* God did NOT hadth the REDEMPTION PLAN *(in Christ - as Ap. Paul teaches)* from the verry begining, before He started creating the world... just *imagine* that He was willing to create strong, unfallen humans to became other kind of angels, to fullfil His Kingdom... imagine He create Adam multiple wifes, *7, for example!*
What i'f Eve was still wishing *to be like God,* listening to the Old serpent... *how was Adam acting in this situation..?*
Because Adam was NOT THERE while Eve was speaking with the Old serpent... she dissobey ; and the Lord of the WHOLE World because was NOT THERE (at the door) for his dissobediant wife, he felt for her and died, together with the who'll world !!!
Yes, was LOVE...
but *because of this "Love", P. W. preaches,* the first and strongest Man, did felt and died ! He choosed to turn his back to his Father for a single but beautiful woman!
*(i heard to be called "Honey trap!")*
*No, my brethrens!!!*
I don't wanna be a victim anymore!
When we are trying to have this *("so called") RIGHTEOUSNESS* we will fall like other *Great man of God* : King David felt for Bat-Sheba, and Solomon was bounded by ..?
*(too many wifes???)* NO ! by love!
There is a great name of our day's too:
Ravi Zacharias! *Just imagine, Ravi was understanding the context of Isaiah 4:1 as it is written... imagine he was treaten this "love" as a Poligin of the Bible : *Just imagine Ravi was like Mozes* , in the book of Numbers, chapter 12, When Miriam(Moses sister) turned into a leprous woman for a week *(because disagreeing poliginy!)*
... what do you think, Ravi hadth a chance ?
*Wake up, christians around the World!* Is time to get away from any kind of religiousness! *Be and live Biblical(acording to the Scriptures!)*
There are many examples of disciples and other great Man of God remaining allone or being poligin!
Don't sacriffice your life or future familly for a woman *(who may be jessebelic as Miriam was!!!)*
Ap. Paul teaches in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 *how to be A LEADER of the church (a Presbiter, Diacon, or Bishop)* , but not all Men of God were leaders of the church, and *also we do know that Ap. Paul get inspired from the Law o God (Deuteronomy 17:17)* Just read the context carefully and understand *why is that Law for the Kings there?*
Why should a a Leader DO NOT have (too) Many wifes??? There is an answer, Ap. Paul use in the Timothy and Titus context, tooken from the Law, from here!
*But, i'f a Man is NOT a King, Bishop, Presbiter or Diacon, and still have several wifes He does not commit adultery or other sins !*
Does your church teach you that???
*What bible do you read???*
this is a *"Wake up" call* Be a Man in your family, *as it is written!*
Amen ?!
*May the Peace of the Son be uppon the Sons of Peace and over their hones!*
Amen .

Hey Ettienne, thanks for the encouragement. I am glad the videos have been a resource to you! God Bless!
Thank Wilma!
I’m not here to debate so please don’t send any more Bible bits out of context or force your view on others as to get your false message out to others…
Your message has got nothing to do with what the original content of the video was on about.
I'm 23 years old
I cant wait to be a husband, a godly husband
Great message!!! I would like to add that it's not only Christian men to be "the protector, provider... for their family, that is the role of all men - believers and non-believers because that is how God designed it.
Very grateful for Paul Washer’s humility. I definitely don’t agree with him on all things, but he is one of the most humble leaders of the modern American Reformed movement.
What things don’t you agree on with him?
@@israel5346 Years ago his tone was quite harsh. I still remained intrigued by his messages still. He has since become more humble about a number of things (for whatever reason), and strives to give more grace to the other side while also maintaining his position.
@@PaulWallification do you finally understand why Jesus was so hated? He didn’t water down his message.
Creating stong men from within because Christ is Living. Jesus Christ is Lord🙏🏽
Thanks hector! Glad the video was helpful to you!
Brilliant
This is chivalrous and a brave and a BIBLICAL view of true masculinity - It sounds just like our Heavenly Father who cares for every man, woman, child - family.
You know, my love has brought me little joy. . Mostly just heart ach, periodically to the points where I wonder what is the point. . It just seems more like being forgotten than anything else. Now that's just me, hopefully everyone else is getting their blessings though, I'll remain happy to see it. . It gives me hope.
God bless you two. I pray that God continues to give more wisdom to guide his people.
I was made to be a woman and a homosexual not a man because I don’t feel like a man at all.
Brother Paul you've been a great influence and guide on my walk with Christ. The lord is doing great things through you, Glory be to the Lord
Paul's such a wise guy. This is a wonderful way to introduce all men to what masculinity truly is. It's biblical. Jesus is all of this. A real man.
Amen! May the Lord bless His men with courage and strength!
This was beautiful. Thank you. ❤
This is a timely blessing, looking for strength in leadership within the church, and what it looks like to have biblical manhood, such an important message.
Gods blessings🙌
Amen! May the Lord bless His men with courage and strength!
This was really good! Thank you. It’s really tru when you think about it; that love is what makes a man brave! If you love someone deeply then you will fight hard for them. 👌🏼🌟
We are here to give, to protect and serve.
Part of me feels hopeless because I've never been a physically or emotionally strong dude. Growing up, I was always softspoken and sensitive, and not at all a rough person, and it wasn't instilled in me either. Work in progress, I suppose, but I sometimes wonder if I can live up to any of this...
You don't have to be rough. Just trust Christ and let him lead to stand up for what's right and just and pure.
Through Christ. Yes, you can. He will make you stronger while still being you...with your personality, gifts, and talents. Ask God, too. 😊
Absolutely correct! Thanks Pastor Paul.
Blessings 10 fold for pure truth.
Thank you for your message!!!
God bless pastor Paul 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Peace
@Richard Fox true. And most Protestants churches follow the format of the Roman Catholic Church system, which is completely different from the NT.
government is satan by definition
He conveys such humility in his words... Jesus blesses his life
How I pray that I can teach my son to be a real man even I'm his mom.
Thanks much sir Paul
They won't take it the same way because you are a woman ,so there are things you don't understand natural things that you can't understand, like the urge to fight
The Bible is God's loving instruction to man, and woman. Any man who follows God's Word is a real man, and any woman who follows God's Word is a real woman. The modern confusion about gender is a problem for nonbelievers, but this is just one of innumerable things God has saved those who believe in His Son, Jesus, from.
Interesting
The interviewer reminds me of this generation and how men sound today In tone.
Thanks Johnny sir for making this video. Love from the saints in India. May the Lord Jesus s grace be with u always Amen.
Thank u Pastor P. Washer and Dial In Ministries channel. I'm really glad on learning what a men is to be: like Christ. God bless your lifes!!
Really enjoyed this. Thank you. I was thinking about servant leadership as a husband a few days ago and realizing it's the process of taking the lead in showing Divine Love to our families so was good to hear this being discussed in this video as our action of sacrifice.
Brilliant conversation, God bless you brothers.
Don't think so. The proverbs 31 wife is a good provider and her reputation exceeds that of her husband for all her hard work
@@alexavasquez1992 Absolutely, but this chapter DOES NOT say that women are the head/covering over the men in a God-ordained marriage (1 Corinthians 11:3). This is the man's role. A Proverbs 31 woman is not looking to put a roof over a man's head either. I'd imagine you would agree.
Indeed true, pray for the world to changes. Amen.
Great stuff Jonny. When do you think you’ll have your dad on the show? I’d like to see that.
When I was born again, he was the first person I knew to turn to for good preaching. He helped me out a lot at that time, and I was just watching the livestream of his church.
I don’t know if there’s any good way for me to thank him. Maybe you can pass the word to him.
Wow i got a revelation when you spoke about being more selfless and to stop being self absorbed i really need to read about Jesus and see for myself how to be a man.
Subscribed. This channel has so much potential to grow, keep up the great work brother!
Making work a form of punishment is not great parenting…it’s an expectation and a duty, not a negative thing.
True masculinity is enduring pain on yourself for the benefit of others carrying weight on your shoulders 🙏
Paul thanks for clarifying what a man should be and what is role is.
Wow, what a teaching. Thank you
Thanks for listening
Very very very 👍 Good! Jesus Christ is Lord
Amen! May the Lord bless His men with courage and strength!
I am crying! Thank you for this.
Incredible video and conversation! Thank you for your explanation of how to really be a man. I need to step it up more and get to really know and understand Jesus Christ.
Wow, great explanation Paul God bless you and definitely something us young men need to aim to be
A man serves GOD, FAMILY, FATHERLAND❤ I am always ready to sacrifice my life for my family 💪
Pastor, provide, and protect . This was great.
Great topic, I'd love to see the whole interview.
I wish there was some way to express my eternal fire and rage in me FOR YOU.
Tldw: Being a man does not mean to be a tough guy, neither does it mean to be a submissive shadow. It means to be kind, but tough in the face of adversity out of love for those you defend
Part of being a man is being tough friend!
Agreed, and being a woman means to be kind, but tough in the face of adversity out of love for those you defend.
@@truchris8649Not really a tough person, so guess I'm just not a man then?
Awesome video. This is so important. Thank you for sharing. GodBless!!!!!!
Powerful!
Washer always hits the mark. Love this
Hey guys.. as much as we must bare our cross as men. Don't be foolish and think that you can't crumble under the weight. Take care of yourself. Look after yourself as well. Ensure that you're doing okay because that matters.. that matters
Such a refreshing video!
How wonderful to have the example of Christ to follow.
