Philippians 2:12-13 says, "Work out your salvation," which means God works in you through your obedience empowered by the Holy Spirit to transform your desires. This change doesn't happen while you're passive or idle, waiting for God to act without your involvement. Instead, God uses your active obedience-even when it feels difficult or when you don’t feel like doing it-to reshape your desires. Be faithful to the things God has already called you to do, and through that, He will gradually transform your heart to align with His will. It's like a starter motor: your obedience provides the initial energy, and then God’s power takes over and continues the transformation. Thank you soo much for this word blessed beyond measure
It’s so true, obedience leads to transformed desire! Choosing to abide in God’s word is so powerful as we’re choosing what we know to be true over our feelings!
So I guess what he meant was .This was Topic on leading a holy life .Once a pastor said "it's 99 % surrendering to the holy Spirit (just say with genuine cry) to help you and 1% doing all the things that you can aggressively to discipline yourself based on the word of God.But this works only when we do both the part at the fullest of our lives
And so once you do this.Philippians 2:12-13 says, "Work out your salvation,"Be faithful to the things God has already called you to do, and through that, He will gradually transform your heart to align with His will. It's like a starter motor: your obedience provides the initial energy, and then God’s power takes over and continues the transformation.
I struggle to find the fine line between Christian discipline and “performance based living” Like how do we balance these physical things like being disciplined to read our Bible but not in a spirit of performance like I’m “earning” favor
Hey brother ,Praise the lord. I was too in this confusion for a long time. But later God revealed to me through different pastors and youtube videos Hope this Helps. I would like to answer in 2 Paragraphs brother 1) Once you put your faith in Jesus Christ . It is like a new baby born into the kingdom of God. Your Father is Jesus now. No Matter of Good works or Bad works can change your title as a son or daughter. Even a earthly parent would never reject his son or daughter even if does the greatest wrong doing son is always son. They would always want their son to come back and live a good life. But when you do good works our heavenly father's heart rejoices and when we do wrong he punishes (sickness, accidents, jobs marrriage ) to bring us back to him. I believe our God is a merciful God he will do his best to change our all of our sinful desires and make like him one day until our end. And one more thing we love him we because he loeved us first .When we start doing everything out of love and gratefulness there wont be striving only stewardship So, Imagine in this entire world there are just 1000 people living .And there are grocery stores and restaurants run by robots alone. No person can get a job anywhere and everyone is starving to death. Suddenly out of nowhere a company establishes and tells everyone is welcome to join the company and work and the owner is God. What would happen is everyone would rush to get interviewed .And everyone starts working there with full energy no one would care how much they get paid. Everyone would work there with a grateful Heart and love towards the owner. Ur eyes must be on Jesús alone. Sometimes even if we are saved we wouldn't feel like obeying God's Commands. But as the Bible says we should work out of salvation push to do God's commands. It's like a starter motor: your obedience provides the initial energy, and then God’s power takes over and continues the transformation
I think one thing that’s a habit that’s hard for me to truly break is my thoughts especially ones when I go where did that come from like a bad thought about God or Jesus, and I can’t get rid of it. I’m trying to have scripture in my mind but I can wonder and forget what I read that day in the day. Anyone who can help with this?
I would say to know/ learn the character of God, He hasn't changed. Then when these thoughts come, remind yourself of who He is .... start from His love and compassion for His creation even though we rejected Him.. His transformative work on our hearts and minds by His Spirit.. His patience for us, there's so much. We have a relationship with the creator of the universe, and He here's us and eants us to spend time in Communion with Him, in prayer, worship, fellowship and more. Hope this helps
A lot of saints have dealt with this including John Bunyan who wrote pilgrims progress. He talked about having these thoughts and being concerned that they came from himself. Reading the puritans helped me a lot with things like this. As well as just filling my mind with scripture. I hope that’s atleast comforting! That you’re not alone!
@@JordanHixenbaugh yes ever since I became a Christian I’ve dealt with Religious anxiety, ongoing problem some days are not that bad some are and i try make it not bother me,but it’s very hard. since I love Jesus so much I don’t wanna say anything about him that’s bad but yeah you’re guys advice helps thank you brother.
Who are tares according to Jesus? Opposite of "be of Good report, humble to Receive God's solid counsel" Timothy 3, perilous times, ones who we are counseled to turn away from: false pretenders in verse 5; covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, trucebreakers, * false accusers*, *fierce/Bullies)*, incontinent, traitors, highminded/ prideful, despises of those that are good. To reject proper biblical instruction/ counselors needed for unruly prideful, is *setting self ABOVE GOD for no correction> (II Timothy 3:16, 17 AND ACCOUNTABILITY. Rotten fruit is from rotten tree >Matthew 7:16-23 ( are tares) Matthew 18:15-17 >3 chances to repent or treated as a heathen. Where are many counselors for the people to thrive??? Jesus says depart from me, I never knew you, Why? Because the prideful narcissists reject correction & reproof like Pride of Lucifer. “God actually uses your obedience to begin to change what you WANT to do.” - that’s a gem.

wonderfully summarized this video in your comment. thank you!

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. Galatians 5:16
Okay but what does that actually look like?
