Where did the water come from? Where did the bacteria come from?) and then the bacteria became a worm which became a fish which grew legs and became a lizard, then more lightening and fires and always billions and billions of years so the lizard can become a squirrel then a monkey etc etc. The only ‘answer’ anyone has to all this far fetched storytelling is ‘billions and millions of years’ …. For years, every time an atheist/agnostic asked me about aliens I would answer that we can already confirm that aliens exist and after they shock value that a Christian believes in aliens wore off, I explained that angels and demons are aliens by definition. I greatly appreciate your thoughts on this JRE podcast, glad to find others that think similarly about this sort of topic.
I also thought the point about the driving narrative that atheist/agnostics have is a key part of understanding the way they think. I've never met an atheist/agnostic that follows the science perfectly, they ultimately create myths to believe in.

The churches (Doug Wilson's,) christianity is not the Christianity of Jesus and the Bible, it is the fake christianity of the Godless world that is in reality scientism.
Both DW and JR are both in the religion of scientism, just different denominations of scientism. JR is in the atheist denomination, and DW is in the fake christian denomination. The entire fake christian church that is in reality scientism is nothing more than satan casting out satan.
      Matthew 12:25
"And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26, And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?"
This is why Jesus referred to the church as the abomination of desolation. The churches religion of scientism is divided against itself and on the last day, the churches (DW'S) fake christianity will not stand.

DW's religion is scientism, it is not the Christianity of Jesus and the Bible, it is the counterfeit (antichrist) christianity of the Godless world.
One very easy to understand example is, the Bible clearly tells us that the earth God made is a flat stationary plane. The Godless world, (science/scientism) tells us the earth is a spinning ball flying through endless space that makes the entire Bible 100% null and void and nothing but the fables of men.
Anyone that believes that the earth is a spinning ball is not a Christian, absolutely, positively not. It is impossible. A Christian is someone who believes what the Bible says, not what the Godless world says especially when it makes the Bible an impossibility, and the spinning baal (ball) does.
The spinning ball earth comes from the false manmade religion of scientism, it is the opposite of what the Bible tells us. Again, no actual Christian believes that the earth is a spinning ball nor all the 100% fake manmade things that go along with it. But DW and the entire church is 100% on board with it, exposing that they are not Christians to any with eyes to see.

If there is no end, then there is no hierarchy or standard to judge by. Thus, all forms of evolution are equally valid, and we have Gaia worship
If it progresses towards a "higher end", the ultimate highest end is the immaterial become God, which is what Doug points out. It's also self defeating, as once you reach that highest end, evolution stops. Sounds very Hegelian doesn't it?

To concede a large part of your point, I can understand how for many that could lead to self-worship/ Gaia worship. Still, people find ways to do that even without believing in evolution, and I don’t think that the theory sets out to replace God, but that’s just my opinion. “A narrative driven by the movies he’s watched…”
There isn’t just one narrative in movies. Conservatively put, there’s an alien movie for hundreds of wildly different scenarios. Coming out of the gate dismissing Rogan’s movie reference as a “source” rather than a loose, breezy simile smacks of bias, not objectivity. It’s like me saying my favorite place on earth is Yosemite and then being told, “you only say that because the earth presents you with rocks and trees.” Sure…it also presents…everything else. The movie reference isn’t a source, it’s a quick and breezy means of saying, “this thought, not that other thought.” If I have a complicated idea, I could spend five minutes detailing it, or, acknowledging our shared culture, I can loosely summate that idea in three seconds by referencing a movie, and then spend the surplus time getting on with the conversation. If I’m giving directions to my house to somebody who lives in my town, I’m not going to exhaustively describe the turnpike. I’m going to breezily handwave the turnpike and hope the person I’m talking to isn’t so obsessed with my being already wrong that they quibble with me about turnpike descriptions. It gets even worse when he accuses Rogan of using an idea based on “our generation’s cosmology.” Again, because he wants Rogan to be wrong, he misses the purpose of the simile and argues about the turnpike. The idea in The Abyss that Rogan is referencing is, “They’re already among us.” This isn’t a new idea. This idea has been around for thousands of years. But because you want him to be wrong, you’ve deliberately ignored the purpose of the reference in exchange for the insignificant details of how that idea was communicated. In other words, you’re quibbling over the turnpike description because you don’t actually want directions.

The whole premise of the show was two FBI agents, a believer and a skeptic, investigating paranormal phenomena. Mulder was willing to believe any explanation for the case at hand - aliens, monsters, Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, even demons. But he'd outright dismiss anything having to do with God. That was a point of contention at times with Scully. She was raised Catholic. And, at least in earlier seasons, she still had somewhat of a belief in God. Some of the eps where she was struggling with her faith in that way and their conversations/disagreement made for thought provoking TV. It's one of the reasons I loved the show. I appreciated that they mostly treated the subject with respect. Though, wow, they were clueless at times and even got Bible passages wrong. I can somewhat excuse the earlier seasons since it was the late 90s and the internet was not quite what it is today. By and large the same as anyone. When they feel they need it, or when loved ones express concern.

That’s the assumption because if they can travel to our planet with ease, bending and manipulating the laws of physics as we know it-they must be more advanced than us.

@@GodsServant543 obviously. My point remains tho.
We observe UFOs defy the laws of physics. So, assuming UFOs are alien life, they would necessarily HAVE to be more advanced than us. Ya know, since humans can’t defy the laws of physics. And UFOs do.
It’s not that complex. It’s really straight forward. And obviously this is all an assumption. But we’re going off what we observe about UFOs. And if aliens are operating them, they are definitely more advanced than us.

None of what I heard from them sound biblical. My mother even has an unhealthy obsession with the topic, to the point where she uses an eisgesis approach with John 14:2 by interpreting "rooms" or "mansions" as "galaxies".

It's a presuppositional thing. Joe begins from the presupposition that God DOESN'T exist, and he then views the world, and interprets the evidence, through that lens. So arguing evidence with him would be pointless, because we do not have a common starting point. He has to first be shown that his presuppositions are wrong before he can see clearly, and THAT is a job that only the Holy Spirit can accomplish, even if the best apologist in the world was working on him.

You are correct. However, both JR and DW are both in the same antigod/antibible/antichrist religion, so they are on an equal footing. They both have as their religion the Godless world religion of scientism. DW just pretends to be a Christian.

@@shadowbannedforspeakingtru1436 I'm not sure what you're talking about, but the Bible tells us not to neglect the gathering of the saints (going to church). While it's true that there are many bad churches out there (including one I recently heard about in NYC that had drag shows in the church), there are also many good churches. And just as being a member of a given denomination doesn't guarantee being a good church, it also doesn't guarantee being a bad one.

Evolution is not a myth, especially when there is supporting data from DNA, archaeology, and etc to support the theory. For biblical creationism to stand you need to first justify how your interpretation of Gen 1 can stand in respect of even John Walton's book.

    • @daltonbrasier5491

First of all, DNA has nothing to do with evidence of evolution. Second, claims of evolution are based solely on assumptions made by fallible minds. 10 years ago "we" believed completely different things than we do now and in 10 years "we" will believe completely different things than we do now.
Because it's all based on assumptions and every new piece of evidence will change our assumptions. But it will not change what is true.
