I saw a recipe on pinterest that said you can use the unflavored coconut oil instead of the paraffin. It also said to use your finger to smooth the hole in the peanut butter that the toothpick left so that you don't see the hole anymore. I've never made these before but I'll be trying them very soon!! Thanks for sharing!
You are welcome! Yes, some people do cover up thr toothpick hole after but that has never bothered me. I think it just adds to the charm! 😁 Good luck making buckeyes! They really are so good!
What a special apron! My brother makes a version of these but he uses Rice Krispies and almond bark. They don’t last long! It was fun to see how you make them a little differently!
I have had them before with Rice Krispies. Also delicious! Yes, you are right. It is fun to see how every family makes them different! As for the apron, thanks! Certain teacher gifts have lasted for many years now! I am sure you have a few of those too. 🥰
Omg I make this recipe… kinda. It’s the same but we add rice cereal. My grandmother would make them with me-we call them peanut butter balls and give them as gifts too lol
Merry Christmas to you and your family as well, Belinda! It's so lovely to get to know you and all your Australian customs! 🥰 I hope you enjoy the buckeyes too!
@@joyfullythriving , Thanks so much for taking the time to reply in all the busyness of parenting and the likes! Our boys are a similar age to your older children! Much love and God Bless xxxx
Peanut allergy here so I'm going to try with sunflower butter, stay tuned. I think I will need much more powdered sugar since sunflower butter is much runnier than peanut butter
Absolutely no paraffin! Use a high quality candy chocolate. I recommend Merckens. Works perfectly, no wax! More expensive, but better results, better texture, better taste. Buckeyes are able to be frozen and refrigerated to last longer. Best served at room temperature
To me, candy melts always taste different than semi-sweet chocolate chips...but you are welcome to make them as you like! 😊 I will remember yhat Merkens brand if I ever stumble across it. We prefer serving buckeyes chilled ourselves, but I agree. They freeze wonderfully!

❤❤❤

Wacht... waar is de paraffine gebleven? Waar gebruik je het voor?
If I translated your question correctly
...the paraffin is melted in with the chocolate chips to make it smooth and shiny. 🙂
Absolutely no paraffin!
