"White privilege is not saying that your life has not been hard as a white person, white privilege is simply saying that your skin colour has not contributed to the difficulties of your life." - Emmanuel Acho
Please continue your work. God bless. So proud. My heart is over joyed. So many people may want to have a conversation but doesn’t know how. You just gave them first step. Thanks 😊
I have always been anti-racism, have known about white privilege. However, I will never know the pain, nor understand how differently life is for Blacks in America. My eyes have been opened more than ever, and I must say, little, to nothing has changed for too many years. Be safe, stay strong, keep doing what you're doing. It is, and will continue to achieve the goal.
If I had a kid I'd be thrilled if he was like Emmanuel, and I'm not talking about the football. His mother must be so damn proud of him. It does my heart good to see him doing this after the pain of watching the life leave George Floyd in that cruel way.

Where have you been Emmanuel Acho? Thanking God for giving you this Platform with this Message. Thank You for being Brave enough for taking that chance ....You just saved lives..you are a Hero!
I just saw you on the Tamron Hall show and I've always said I don't have a prejudiced bone in my body. I still feel that way but I think this America is in a state of uncomfortable dialog. I like what you say and I want to be one of your followers. I am 73 years old and retired so I have lots of time on my hands. No money, but time. I live in metro Omaha, NE. I've thought about volunteering but don't know how to get started. I guess maybe I haven't been retired long enough cause I don't want to have to get up for anything on a regular basis. lol I think we all need to learn more before we speak. Thank you for helping this grandma understand more of her surroundings. God's blessings and I'll be watching:)
My hope for your channel is that all people open hearts to receive knowledge and grow....It always goes back to "treat others how you want to be treated."...Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
I truly believe that this is the way to make change happen. Through conversations and education. By being open to new information that can teach us the point of view of others. With all the different "challenges" that people put out on the internet (i.e. water bottle, ice challenge etc.) and chain posts/texts I am going to start a new one. I CHALLENGE ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO WATCH ALL OF THESE VIDEOS, LISTEN AND LEARN FROM THEM AND THEN SHARE WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW. ESPECIALLY OUR CHILDREN. Let's see who does the most with this challenge.
Everybody ignore the haters and continue to work together!! Don’t be discouraged by people who are part of the problem and clearly do not want change!!
Oh, I want change for better but it shouldn't come about of the death of George Floyd, or Brown or Martin. Use MLK or Booker but to use these losers as a foundation for positive action...dead in the water...
I am curious about how media handles stories about people of color. On TV, those stories are always presented by a journalist of color. Always. Is this desired and appreciated by POC? Or does it feel patronizing? Would love to see/hear your response.
I❤U...I'm a black girl from Chicago recently moved 2 Alabama, and racism is so real here in the South. I'm under paid I've seen burning crosses etc...they truly hate Northern ppl why? I don't kno
What an inspiration! Emmanuel is great example children of another rich man spreading victimhood in the very country that made him successful! Take notes 🙌🏽
Hoda and Jenna had Emmanuel acho, a former football player speak on what it's like to to be a blackman. Let it be known, that is his perceived outlook on things. Each person will have their own opinion based on their own life experiences. One person's opinions and experiences do not represent a whole class of people way of thinking. Me personally, I don't share his outlook on things.
@dinkyfarkledoodle very broadly. Each person, no matter the color, gender, or economic status, have their own outlook on life based on their own experiences. His point of view is his own and does not represent the whole race entirely and he should make that clear. Definitely doesn't represent my outlook on the subject.
@dinkyfarkledoodle I wouldn't say basic differences, but more complex. So much goes into each person's development that shape the way they view things in life. Such as the values that were instilled in them as a child, confidence and self esteem, self love, education level, international traveling, understanding of different cultures, and the list goes on and on. Emmanuel should make a disclaimer stating that this how HE views this topic and is speaking as such.
Right. Because making a living playing football, a game which no other country cares about, having a job as a commentator on the biggest sports network in America, and having a net worth of $1-$5 million dollars is racist. Surprised he is even alive in this evil country. You’re severely mislead my friend
I don’t agree with that. If he had said an important piece of the solution. But this paternalistic dependence on the white man to exclusively solve our problem, is part of our (the black ppl) problem. We are grown men, and the white man ain’t our papa.
I’m glad he said “if.” I’m white and I’ve never blamed any of my problems on someone else. I take responsibility for my own actions and suffer the consequences of my choices. Black people have a long wait for someone else to “fix” their problems. They need to go visit Indian reservations to see how they have fared. Spend more time with Thomas Sowell or Shelby Steele. Black men who have been around a lot longer than this young man. Experience is a great teacher. Blame is for God and small children.
mm You know nothing about me but call me a white supremist. Did I slap a label on you? And do you think Sowell and Steele are white supremists? God gave you one mouth and two ears for a reason.
mm Another label. Karen. Appears that you put all white people in one group and say they are all the same. Then complain that white people put all black people in a group and say they are all alike. Hmm...
And the little one shall lead them Blessed are the peacemakers. Amen son. You are in my prayers, For STRENGTH, and clarity. You are send to your people.. Ezel.AndJeremiah,Isaiah. God be with you. Love.
The fact that any pale skin person can go into any environment they choose simply just does not mean that they are welcomed even if they are pale skinned.
All these questions aren't uncomfortable for me, I'm native American, but I'm saddened that we think we can change things w/o God's help. We are innately prejudice toward conscious things whether we admit it or not. I agree w Drew Breeze, not during the national Anthem, the solution is protest on your time. And his taking the knee as opposed to sitting, that doesn't matter. No, it's not about me telling you when you can protest rather it's that you don't care you offend me by disrespecting our Standard.
So I have seen this meme and wanted to see if you could offer any insight from your perspective, “why is it ok for every race to be proud of their heritage except for white people?”
There is a saying that "when a wise man points to the moon, the foolish man examines the finger." I grew up in a community where other kids bullied and taunted me for being very tall and very skinny. I thought at the time that i didn't matter, so I was always unhappy, and if I was not sad there is always a kid somewhere that would say something like, "Put a rock in your pocket! Or Hold something, so you won't get blown away by the wind." It was my uncle that started to remind me that many would be happier today if they look just like me, and that God does not look at me and wishes He had created someone different. "God loves you as if you were the only thing that He created." Today, I look back and laugh at myself for ever feeling like nothing. My uncle told me that because I needed to know that I MATTER and he would have found another way to pull me up if I looked differently from everyone. So imagine if someone goes up to him and say, "Why do you tell him that he's fine the way he looks but when I say that I am the most handsome guy everybody will say that I am self-centered?" Whites should definitely celebrate their heritage in my opinion. Celebrate men and women that supported Lincoln when he proposed abolition of slavery. Celebrate those that fought against segregation. Celebrate those that advocates voting right for everyone women, blacks, etc. Celebrate those that fought for equal right and equal justice, etc. You get the idea! Just know who you are celebrating and what you are celebrating. As a Christian, I always ask myself "What would Jesus do? WWJD" This is one person's opinion. So there are countless of ideas out there and I wish I have enough. I hope this helps.
If whites should not use the N word, then neither should the blacks. Period. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Set the example. Don’t perpetuate the ideal that’s it’s ok for blacks to use the N words. It’s not. Don’t try to sugar coat it.
