what if the apple pencil isnt compatible with iphones yet because they are developing a 'mini' apple pencil that will be for iphones for reasons like this. just a thought hahaha
There is a pen that is universal, gives to all devices including the iphone. I bought mine for the free market, but I believe it has on aliexpress and wish.
Nah I think it’s just for them to make more money bc ppl want the Apple Pencil for procreate and if they want the Apple Pencil then they need to buy this big expensive iPad personaly I think it’s unfair especially to ppl like me who can’t afford any iPad Pro
@@katiecollier5156 At the same time it's not like if the iPhone has the display tech to be compatible, and if it gets it, it would sure make it more expensive. And that doesn't make sense for Apple because practically nobody would use or want that, take a look at the Note 10's drawing experience with it's tiny screen compared to something like an iPad. Also, you don't have to get the "Pro", all iPad are now compatible with the apple pencil.
The fact that the pencil still doesn't work on the iPhone, so many years after the first galaxy note, is a scandal. This from a company with close to a trillion dollar market cap...
Yup but if it worked for their phones why would people buy the ipads? It's all about marketing and from a buisness standpoint they would make more money that way.
A perfect app for thumbnailing, color tests, and other useful planning for big paintings. As well as a good alternative to plien air painting with an iPad. Though, I know the finger-painter maestros and small screen masters are rejoicing right now.
Yep, that's exactly what I'll be using it for. Also I'm totally blown away with what some people have done on such a small screen with this app. They make me so envious!
It’s a great companion but I think a bigger screen is better. Since I have smaller hands it works well on the IPhone 8 Plus screen. If you’re not into the $4.99 price tag there’s a great free alternative to this called Sketchbook where you don’t have to pay extra for features.
LookzA Crashes too much on all my Notes with even just 2k res canvases. I appreciate the tools, but Infinite Painter is by no means a stable app. Aside from the initial release of iOS11, Procreate has never crashed on me once on even 6k-8k files. Not ONCE. Zilch. Nada. I mean it. If it crashes too much it is NOT comparable at all to Procreate.
Might be worth noting too for people who had purchased Procreate Pocket before, the update for this was free for existing users on iOS 11. :D Personally, I'm really excited about this update! I paired my Wacom stylus with Pocket earlier, and while I agree, it's not going to replace my iPad and Pencil as my "go to" device, between the upgraded file sizes, the new brush options, and the stylus connection option (it's not the Apple Pencil, but GOODNESS, for me, it feels miles better than absolutely everything else I've tried for the phone), I feel like I could do WAY more with my phone now than the tiny, abstract color studies I've mainly used it for in the past. I mean, I could actually start sketching an A4 canvas now when I'm out somewhere, then transfer it to my iPad Pro later for tighter work! :O It could be a great option too for some custom brush-making. :D So yeah, in summary, day MADE! I was pretty giddy earlier when I first opened the app after updating. XD
I recommend getting this app on iPhone 6s and onwards. Lower than that then the screens are pretty cramped. I have an iPhone 7 Plus and I think it’s the perfect size for the app. I also recommend to use a stylus, I think it’s easier to use that rather then your finger! Just an opinion. Thanks for reading, enjoy your day! :)
I wanna buy Procreate, but idk which one should I buy.. the one for iPhone or the one for iPad? (Btw I have an iPad & a Phone so I can buy both but not at the same time)
I think it can also be useful for layered annotation, which sometimes I want to do when I want to keep track of different perspectives on a concept, pros and cons, that support of thing
Yeah, I tried the beta, I like it tho, but definitely recommend to buy stylus, drawing & painting with your finger on the small screen, I mean 😅 this is a bit painful
Tried the beta & its awesome. But without a stylus I'll never use this on my iPhone X. I'd pay $50 for a mini iPhone pencil in a heartbeat. Imagine a case just like the iPad pro but on your phone, pencil holder & everything.
bryzzobrist I definitely like that! I don’t bring my iPad everywhere because it is so big, and since it’s the same app I could easily save the file open it up on my phone and continue working on it. Sure it’s way smaller but it does have some benefits and not everyone can afford an iPad so a lot of people already draw on their phone. The product doesn’t make the art, the artist does. So a professional could still draw something amazing on a phone.
Also once upon a time apple used to have free apps of the day and procreate pocket was one of them. Turns out they just rebooted the old app so I didn't have to pay for Pocket
When I make a mistake in the drawing I can not undo the step back .. In the oldest update this feature was present and now does not exist How can I please help
I'm not able to update to v2 because I refuse to move to iOS 11. Being able to hide but notifications from the lock screen, but keep them in notification center is very important to me. I suppose it's not a big loss, though, I rarely used the app before - as you mention, drawing on the iPhone is not fun.
Which iPhone did you use this on and can you still export in PSD format in this version? I'm thinking of dumping my iPad Pro and pencil - *still* hate the pencil on screen feel even with a protector - and going back to my Intuos tablet but it would be nice to have a decent sketch app on my phone...
As always another great review! And I did not know about the "3fingers" this will help with the production of book 2 of the World of the Peapods soooo much!! Thanks
Does Procreate Pocket have any pen pressure on iphone 11? If yes, can you tell me with what stylus it works? If it doesn't work it's extremely disappointing.
I'm going to get an IPad soon, I was just wondering if Procreate Pocket works on Ipad? I bough it for £4.99 on my phone, if I use the same apple ID for app store will I be able to use Procreate Pocket? Please respond if you have any idea :)
It's cool and so on, but they could focus more on making a desktop app for mac and windows, instead of putting it on small screen. I would LOVE to draw in Procreate on my Cintiq (21ux). By the way why they stopped making them tablets in 4:3 proportions, those are so neat ;_;
You've always been able to blend with procreate... you access the blend brush icons by tapping the finger icon inbetween the brush icon and eraser icon.
It's an older version of this stylus amzn.to/2KPzANn I should also point out the stylus frustrated me so much that half way through the vide I switched to my finger.
If I download the app procreate pocket on my phone and it’s connected to my iPad will it download as normal(iPad version) or stay the same? (pocket) Help anyone!!!
I hope Apple makes their next iPhone compatible with the Apple Pencil. If we get Apple Pencil support on the iPhone, it would be enough of a reason for me to buy that iPhone.
Hey, i'd like to ask something to anyone watching this, i recently saw an ad of a stylus called Sonar pen and it looks too good to be true, it says to sense pressure just by a minijack and it suposedly works without batteries and in any capacitive screen ipad or android. There's a kickstarter and all but i still have my doubts
Hey, I was looking at affordable android phones that come with a stylus. Have you had any experience using any? I was gonna get the LG stylus 3 but it has worse specs than my current phone lol
Apple needs to make a "Note" series of iPhones for artist. Samsung made it a huge deal with the Note 9 about it being for artist. A build in "s pen" would make me switch to an iphone for procreate pocket alone. Or the creators of Procreate need to release the app for the Note line of android phones.
Personally I would love to use this as a supplement to my normal version, say if I have to make a quick adjustment and I'm not near my iPad (but let's be honest that thing is attached to me now). It would be fantastic especially when a client asks for something you can quickly change. But for that it would need integration with the full version. I’d say get it if you haven’t had any experience with digital art ,or if you’re just starting out or if you think you can do good In digital art. I have been drawing on paper for a while now and when I transitioned to this app, I really liked it. didn’t know the app updated till recently which is why I’m here lol. It’s only 5$ I have done some great work with it and i own the 5s 😂😂. Yea I hate having to zoom in back and forth but now that the update gives us more brushes and canvas sizes which it’s what I’ve been waiting for, I can finally get to do more with it. Hey it for starters and I you like it, u can upgrade to the new budget iPad that works with the pen. 👍👍

Is it just me or can I like never draw a straight line using my finger?
you have to slide your finger fast. if you're too slow it will create jitters
Or u can hold to make a straight line
U just need to draw a line and press and hold and then it will go straight 😂😂😂😂
Oh no I can very well lol
Its you, Procreate pocket allows ypu to draw straight lines
You have 3d touch for pressure sensitivity - so works even with your finger. Nice review!
oh man, I totally missed that. Thanks
Brad Colbow it'll probably work with capacitive stylus as well.
Yang Zhao yeah but with the iPhone 11 Pro it doesn’t work anymore :(
I have the iPhone 8 I I have to press super hard to draw on the app idk how to change the sensitivity can someone explain 😕

Sonicgirl7467 I agree

Call me crazy, but personally I think this belongs solely on the Galaxy Note line, regardless of how fragmented Android is. No Apple Pencil = no go.
