Just saw this video in Oct 2018. The Maui 5 has no reverb for the mic input. My JBL Eon One does. Bose L1 Compact does not. A base woofer with linear array tweeter is a superb arrangement. But now my favorite PA speaker is my Bose S1 Pro... But interesting is this: volume of mic input of both Eon One and S1 Pro are low. I use a Mackie mixer to get great volume with microphones.
I sold my Maui 5 because it lacked a dedicated XLR output to pass its signal to another Maui 5 or another speaker. This was a non negotiable feature that I had to have so I got a pair of Maui 5 GOs.
Im new to all of this and wanna get Maui 5 for movies on my TV, i have a pretty new TV that only has HDMI only for audio. How will i get the audio from the Maui 5?
Bose L1 compact is less picky with microphones, even an 20 $ Behringer microphone can sound excellent. Without external mixing console, the MAUI 5 uses to dislike much microphones. The same with guitar. The Bose is foolproof, the MAUI 5 needs some knowledge. When I compare the price, I have not to forget the bags for subwoofer and columns, that are included in the Bose L1 compact price. I watched both prices and noticed, that the MAUI 5 didn't ever cost the half price. You could save between 33 and 44 %, but I think, this is ok. I was surprised, how much value I could get with the Bose L1 compact, and much more surprised, how much the less expensive MAUI 5 can do, especially a liitle lower bass.
Microphone Feedback Control: In the past I have heard plenty of Feedback issues with the Bose Systems but in a LD Sponsored Video I didn't hear any even when the microphone was pointed directly at the speaker... I wish when he mentioned testing of Feedback that he would of done a small demo is all... Anyone have a Demo of the Maui 5 Feedback Control? :-) Thanks in Advance...
I knew the great BOSE era, the 802, the made in the USA, really fabulous and legendary. Here it breathes, it stinks of made in china. Research done, BOSE does not have a factory in China, it is all under contract and much too expensive, really too expensive compared to the cost of labor in China, excessive exploitation. In addition sound side ... it is not JBL (the brand of musicians for more than 50 years) brand at the origin of this bass cabinet + column configuration, a concept copied by everyone lacking creativity. The JBL EON ONE / ONE PRO is the benchmark. All the components of very high quality are manufactured by JBL including exceptional speakers which allow a perfect power handling during very long hours. Parameters very often forgotten in the tests (at JBL 100h full volume "torture test" formidable dangerous for the transducers, sweet joke JBL knows his job)

not true. the feedback rejection feature works only if you're at about 50% volume. i've actually tried it at the demo store.
