I had a Maui 5 and sold it because of its lack of dedicated XLR output to allow connection to another Maui or any other speaker without requiring an external mixer. I now have a pair of Maui 5 GOs and they're awesome, as well as having the dedicated XLR output.
I think about using this speaker together with an external subwoofer (active, 12") and to feed the MAUI 5 or a pair of MAUI 5 with frequencies above 100 Hz. Would I use a MAUI 11 instead, what advantages could it have?
I have both Maui 5 and 11. In my experience, for the acoustic or pop music, the Maui 5 surprisingly has more bass than the Maui 11. However, the Maui 5 bass is more loose and the Maui 11 is firmer and more solid. maybe because the Maui 5 has a single 8 in sub and 11 has dual 6.5 inch. Although the Maui 11 has less bass, it sounds more pleasant, real, focused and detailed than Maui 5 due to 8 x 3in speakers and tweeter. I always has to turn max bass on the 11 and never turn pass 10 o'clock for the Maui 5. Hope this helps. I'm waiting for the Maui 11 Generation 2 when it has 3 X 6.5 woofer instead of 2. The Maui 11 sounds better but Maui 5 is lighter, more versatile due to the options of blue tooth and using spacers or not, and cheaper. You might want to consider LD Curv 5 for its mixer that has built in effectx, more powerful and better speaker configuration. However, its unique look might be discouraging to some people. Maui series have the best look, IMHO, of course.
This is a good explanation. At the moment, it must not be compact like MAUI 5 on my gigs, on the other hand, I have Bose L1 compact, HK Audio LUCAS nano 300 and not planned to sell them. Have no idea, how long they sell the old MAUI 11 mix for the MAUI 5 price. But for me the main reason to buy a MAUI 5 instead 11 would be, that I had to pay much more for the 11 and would decide, that the higher price isn't justified for me. There are always personal references. A singing guitar player, looking for a very easy solution, would say "Bose L1 compact's higher price is justified" - a person that would use some external units and ignore Bose L1 compact's Tonematch features, would think otherwise or say "Have stereo backing tracks so I buy a twinset".
I own a MAUI 5. It's resistant to feedbacks when I can live with a vocal sound, that is less brilliant. When I boost treble by external devices, I have to care, that I not cause feedbacks. One thing is confusing, when a level is too low, the system mutes the sound.
Could play over the old MAUI 11 in a room, where I tested my MAUI 5 first. I noticed, that MAU 11's bass isn't lower, than the bass on my MAUI 5. Possibly the MAUI 11 can play louder or for bigger crowds, but when I miss bass, this MAUI needs also support from an external bass speaker.
I’m buying this very soon. I will add a small outboard mixer with simple FX to get reverb or delay. Then it will be L and R out of the mixer into the back of the Maui sub, using short XLR cables.
@@yolhanson I like your idea and am going to steal it for myself. Actually I was thinking the same thing.Cheaper than 2really expensive speakers. The versatility alone is worth it.
Absolutely useless video!! It is all about Audio!! why no sound demonstration, who cares what it looks like, it is the sound that is the issue. Nothing to sell here.

Stop panning the camera back and forth. Focus on the product you need to introduce.
