I agree. It seems, in my opinion, everyone talks about Charlton Heston in the first two; don't get me wrong, Charlton Heston is great, but hardly anyone talks about Roddy McDowall's performance in all of them. He's an amazing actor and should be given more credit for these movies, especially since he's been on Broadway and has done Shakespeare plays.

The fourth one was the best sequel. The second one was just a retread of the first movie, and the silly bomb worshippers were hard to swallow.
The third and fifth ones were just stupid.

Caesar had just heard the news in the scene prior to this.
