Thanks for taking the time to do this video. Helpful! Great idea for cooling the beans after roasting.

I do not have the upgraded controller, but I use 260 g with 1 lb setting. I used to use a mini vac to cool the beans but a burning chaff got into the vacuum and started a fire inside the vac

    Good video.
*Have you heard of any decent "Err7 Timeout" hacks?*
I have the original 1600 and installed the 1600+ upgrade control panel recently. I HATED that "Timeout" so I reinstalled the old control panel.
My old control panel is getting a bit flaky so I've got to do something soon, but I can't abide that "Timeout."

Unfortunately no. I hated when that happened too. It ruins the entire batch!

Apparently there is a hack but I can't personally vouch for it

Nice tips. This is the 1600+ though, right? I have a regular 1600 and haven't been able to use any of the special modes

Thanks for this. Your method isn't too dissimilar from this: www.reddit.com/r/roasting/comments/7ytv9c/behmor_1600_roasting_fruitylively_acidic_naturals/ This post has a lot more detail in it, but the overall philosophy is the same. Two things to clarify: when you talk about reaching the preheat temp, that's as checked with the B/wall temp? Also, when you mention hitting P3 thirty secs before you expect first crack, how do you know when that is? I'm guessing it's via doing a couple of dry runs first?

Pre-heat is always with the B/wall temp. The exhaust temp doesn't kick in until around the 7 minute mark. First crack for me usually happened around the 8:30 when roasting 200g. But yeah, I figured that out through lots of trial and error.
Sorry it took me so long to respond. Happy roasting!
