People are just doing "remixes" of the song because they say the attention the original got and what money he's making. Why not make your own song?, why piggy back off Oliver's song?. That's why you have mainstream/ independent rappers and singers doing copies or a different version. It's all about clout nowadays, very few are original. Thank you for also repping Oregon. Most people don’t realize that outside of portland and other metro areas that we are all pretty down to earth people, and are tired of the bullshit going on. Keep on playing brother, get that message out.
Well done, Sir. Carry on the theme for the west coast. Most people don't realize that the west coast states, once you get outside of Portland, Seattle, LA, and San Francisco are way more conservative and down to earth than the cities that dominate the political discourse. Keep doing what you do. That pot needs to be stirred
Love your reply! I live in one of those west coast states. One of the reasons for staying in this ungodly bastion is knowing that there are conservatives here and it is great when I occasionally get to meet them or find out about them.
@I-Love-The-80sJust stop. What has Jesus or God done in the past 250 years? Not a damn thing. Religion was invented to control gullible people and receive money for telling stories. I have a story, but first I am going to pass around something and I want you to put money in it. If god was so powerful, why does he need money? Isn't money the root of all evil?
As a Poor Man South of Portland I approve. They need to put a fence around Portland and Salem/Eugene and the whole Multnomah County area and sell tickets to see the freak show that it really is.
Hey now, Marion County voted for Trump. Not all of Salem's the problem. It's gerrymandering and mail in ballots that's the problem..... that's BEEN the problem...
Somehow this showed up on my feed a year later. It's a great song. As someone who used to live in Maine, I knew it had to be about Oregon and not Portland, ME because the poor men live north of Portland in ME and everybody south of there is super rich.
lol believe me not everyone south of Portland is super rich, I’m in Westbrook just a few mins south & im broke haha…most people around here are struggling in a terrible way, but the ones north are living it up on the tax dollars and whatever else they give them. They’ve inundated us with illegal immigrants and called us a “sanctuary” state, it’s a mess 😩 Anyway just thought your comment was a bit funny just bc of my situation lol
It's all the same stuff that's been in folk music for the last 100+ years. There's no "waking up.' it's just a few people in each generation making music.
How could Oliver Anthony NOT like this? What a compliment to him, imitation the most sincere form of flattery. I knew it would be funny just from the title.
I can see him grinning ear to ear.🤗Made the man proud! (Maybe not as much as his new Lil one. But still it shows a solidarity just on a lighter note!) God Bless Y'all.😇Keep revving those pipes.🗣🎶 I wanna hear ya in the Chicago Boonies!🎶🦻(Wow, we've had Capone🤨 & those that 'cap-one'🧐🤔). YES, time to unite & make things right for our kids sake!💖💕
I knew it'd be funny because it's John Reep!!! His stand up comedy is hilarious!! 😂 I LMAO the 1st time I saw him on a Comedy Central DVD from 2009. He discribes his dad cleaning out the family swimming pool!! It's STILL funny to this day. ☮️
I usually don't comment on anything but I have to say that this has become my second favorite song now I absolutely love it. I think this song, along with Rich men north of Richmond "my #1 favorite" really speaks to how the majority of Americans feel. I LOVE it!!!
Whoa! I knew he was talented but his version of the song and his voice showed me never to underestimate him. Stir the pot! Poke the bear! Wake up the sleeping dog!
YES!! You sir are correct, BUT.......Don't you think they should know what "enough" is before they speak out???? I've definitely had "enough" of banks/bankers, corporate big wigs and the wealthy elite using OUR MONEY to gamble on Wall Street like it was Vegas (and if they lose get bailed out by big daddy govt. while we lose our homes). I've had "enough" of the highest most powerful judges in our entire govt. system, having life time appointments, have no regulatory or watchdog committees to keep them in check, and as we recently saw and are still learning, are able to accept monstrous privileges, luxuries, and gifts, just shy of cold hard cash, not just from special interest groups but individual wealthy elites, which absolutely shaped policy and affected real people throughout the country. And I've especially had "enough" of them demonizing education, so that we just spit out little worker bees for the corporations, and don't realize that we live in the wealthiest country in the history of our planet, yet we have folks sleeping in the streets, including our vets that risked their lives for this country, and the fact we could EASILY afford universal health coverage for every single citizen, and treat healthcare like a RIGHT, just like every single developed country on the planet and some 3rd world countries already do. See, Jon didn't choose to say enough is enough to those things, instead he, like Oliver Anthony, chose issues that weren't issues at all, until the failing-in-popularity wing of our political system decided to make them an issue in their fear and outrage creating machine they have, and shoveled that shit in their base's ears 24/7 until they bought it, and in turn regurgitated to others. So I'm just curious what "enough" you're talking about?
Was going to say this was riding Olivers coat tails but I was factually impressed and loved it! You can actually sing pretty good and the words for sure had value!!
Aren't we stupid? They're rich, so what they want while making us live under constant watch. We have just enough money to pay multiple taxes on the same dollar, and barely get by.
Just a couple of good old boys having fun and telling the truth about how screwed our country is. We need more people like this in America 🕺🕺🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🕺🕺💯✨💫
In this song the blame is rightfully placed on the 1%. In Oliver's song he blamed poor people buying snacks with food stamps. The fact that so many people can't distinguish between the messages of both songs speaks to the low level of intelligence driving the discourse.
@@Station_AI He blamed the rich men north of Richmond (both parties) taxing the hell out people and some (not all) people on welfare choosing to waste that taxpayer money on junk food.
@@Station_AIno he didn’t, he blamed fat poor people who don’t wanna change their way of life and work if they are able to. A dr will sign off on disability if your 30 years old and can’t do much cause your 500 pounds. Open your eyes you f*ck before typing shit you wouldn’t say in person
@@Station_AIalso is speaking of he’s tired of buying fat people fudge rounds and donuts. Cause if you know anything my taxes and millions of others pay for food stamps. And when someone buys a bunch of junk with my tax money it kinda pisses me off cause I can’t even afford to buy that shit myself.
Absolutely love it!! Perfect 😂 damn right!!!! Just when ya think it cant get no better or even as good someone like this guy comes along and i stand corrected 🤣🤣🤣

I could see the fury and pain in his eyes. This man speaks from the heart for people like me. Just like Oliver Anthony, this guy manages to encompass EVERYTHING wrong with America today
Lmao You must be as big a joke as this parody. Have your own opinions, why don't ya? Instead of piggy-backing onto anything you think makes you feel like you're not getting the life you think you deserve. If you're not living on the street, you got it pretty good in this country.
Been a HUGE fan of Jon Reep for a large part of my life. One of the funniest comedians out there……but goddamn I was stunned at the seriousness in this!!! I expected it to be a funny parody, but I ended up tearing up!
As I listened to this, first time, I just started getting angry. I was usually just shaking my head in disbelief at the insanity being pushed by politicians, teachers but I’m just getting pissed now. I loved going to Portland and Seattle, we have family up there but will NOT be going back until the trash is taken out. Jon’s words are so true Thank you
The fact he touched on trigger issues for the right and the left represents the vast majority of Americans. I love the message and I think Oliver Anthony Music might enjoy it

Thank you for also repping Oregon. Most people don’t realize that outside of portland and other metro areas that we are all pretty down to earth people, and are tired of the bullshit going on. Keep on playing brother, get that message out.
Right, we just need Portland, Corvallis and Eugene to migrate to Seattle or to Cali.
Yep, and them the people that grew up there maybe could afford to live there again. 😠
Thought ya all were woke?
In Colorado there is Denver/ Boulder and the high $$$$ resort towns. Everyone else is pretty normal.
Only the city folk.

Fun to watch ,good vocals ,beautiful theme ,… makes me want to go home.,so
LOVED the lyrics. I hope the song goes VIRAL. You have spoken for MILLIONS of us. Thank you!
It's already been done except for it was by a poor man south of Richmond!
This dude is a copy machine and riding the coattails of Oliver and trying to steal someone's thunder. This is pathetic
@Michael420-mh7dd nope.
It was called "Rich Men North of Richmond".
Amazing song.
This is a good homage.
Love from Portugal (Europe). United we win! AMEN
Love the music and the dogs
Unironically this is actually what we need more of! Parodies of the original that tell more truths!
California is mostly a farm state aside from the 4 big cities
Same here in the Chicago suburbs
It's the I5 up the west coast
@I-Love-The-80sJust stop. What has Jesus or God done in the past 250 years? Not a damn thing. Religion was invented to control gullible people and receive money for telling stories. I have a story, but first I am going to pass around something and I want you to put money in it. If god was so powerful, why does he need money? Isn't money the root of all evil?
Amen Brother!
Dude you hit every single thing that mattered. This is awesome
As a Poor Man South of Portland I approve. They need to put a fence around Portland and Salem/Eugene and the whole Multnomah County area and sell tickets to see the freak show that it really is.
I assumed it was about Portland Oregon but wasn't sure. As a Native Portlander I'm appalled at what the Left has done to the entire West coast
They should have banned Californians from transplanting back in the 1980’s.
Goonies warned us about land developers…
Hey now, Marion County voted for Trump. Not all of Salem's the problem. It's gerrymandering and mail in ballots that's the problem..... that's BEEN the problem...
Fall into that category also. I’m now a poo man West of Boise, but all that matters is that it’s East of Oregon. Hope greater Idaho comes to fruition.
@@Tachy320 Hi there Poo Man!!🤣
Somehow this showed up on my feed a year later.
They’ve inundated us with illegal immigrants and called us a “sanctuary” state, it’s a mess 😩
Anyway just thought your comment was a bit funny just bc of my situation lol
The whole country is waking up, and damn is it beautiful!
Slowly 🐌 🐌
And my wife is buying all their bullshit. I’m fucked.
I've come to realize lately.... there is no such thing as "too late", and this has changed my world.

@@j0shll0ydthis is how genres get started
I knew it'd be funny because it's John Reep!!! His stand up comedy is hilarious!! 😂
I LMAO the 1st time I saw him on a Comedy Central DVD from 2009. He discribes his dad cleaning out the family swimming pool!! It's STILL funny to this day. ☮️
Oliver wants his cut of the money?
Ceskoslovenska.
Them dogs ain't sleepin, they're stuffed, man...
Love it real Americans need to stand together 😊
The best part of this video begins when the song ends.
Heck yeah! God bless!!!!! ❤🤍💙🇺🇸🙏🏻✝🐾
Absolutely beautiful homage to Rich Men North of Richmond. Love the message. Wish it wasn't so true but it is, yeah it's a damn shame.
Hickory’s Finest, sing it brother Jon!
Brilliant sequel. Absolutely love it. What a tribute to Oliver and another set of middle-fingers to our politicians.
Great job. Everyone needs to speak out. Enough is enough.
LOL! Fantastic I do see that as a Salute to Oliver! But his dogs are awesome
Wow! That was fantastic Jon. And best thing is you showed Oliver straight up respect. 😊
Was going to say this was riding Olivers coat tails but I was factually impressed and loved it! You can actually sing pretty good and the words for sure had value!!
Lmao 😂😂😂 we were listening to the same? Wow how funny
I love that you even have the dogs. You do the song justice.
There ought to be a musician from each state make their own rendition of this fabulous song !!! This was amazing !!! I bet Anthony will love this !!!
This is all 100% facts. "They" think we are stupid.
It's not true......that "they don't have a clue". It is intentional.
@@prototribal4659 .....huh? Are you ok?
Aren't we stupid? They're rich, so what they want while making us live under constant watch. We have just enough money to pay multiple taxes on the same dollar, and barely get by.

And most of the US is south of Portland. This was very clever
Thought this was a joke but it's actually a damn good version
Its already been a year since rich men north of rich men came out... insane.
Darn good version! We need more people speaking up and telling it like it is!

Hi from SE Portland 💚 🌹
I think Oliver Anthony started something special. 👍
He listened to the Voice of Yeshua!
Your a legend jon
Absolutely fugn love it!!! And you’re not wrong one bit!! 🤙🏻

I first discovered your comedy back in January 2021, when I spent three weeks knocked down on the canvas with Covid. Without your knowing it, your work helped get me through it. I’ve been following your work ever since. Thanks for this rendition of this song.
You nailed this!!! Seriously, as an Oregonian I couldn't agree more!!!! Thank you for speaking out for us.
Great remake with a new twist. I love it….
Brilliantly done! Nothing but love for the real people in Oregon, the week i got to spend there staying by the rogue river as a teenager was awesome!

If anyone could have done this, and done this with class, it's you Jon . Chris did an amazing job on his song and it hit a lot of people, your version just made it a lot clearer for those to see.
I grew up in NC and live in Seattle now, both these songs rock. So understand both geographical references lol
I could see the fury and pain in his eyes. This man speaks from the heart for people like me. Just like Oliver Anthony, this guy manages to encompass EVERYTHING wrong with America today
