      Fingers crossed! I'm still waiting on crank and barrels back from the engineer and also some other parts, as soon as they're back it's on with the engine! Thanks mate, and to you!

    Man, well done on the headlight bracket! Really like the look, and the additional detail adds interest to the bike. Bravo!

    Just binge watched the whole series on this! Great work and practical problem solving, I'm really enjoying watching this bike evolve. Rebuilding the the top end on my T140 at the moment, if i'm not working on my bike I'm watching other people work on theirs! Looking forward to you next instalment, keep it up and thanks for taking the time. Your editing is also good, to the point and not endless filler! Cheers, Andy

    Can remove/fit suspension unit collets by clamping the central tube of the top mount in s vice and levering the spring against the top of the jaws.

      Cheers mate, the shrouds are a great way of smartening an older looking pair of shocks. Thankyou!

    The headlight is great, it really completes the look of the front end. It's not too small, which I always think looks silly on an old bike. The shock covers are cool too, they give the bike a late 50s vibe! Keep up the good work!

      Thanks mate, yes the 4.5 looked ridiculous. You need something of a decent size for these bikes, yes mate exactly that and with the added bonus of protection!

    Happy New Year Matey. I think you've cracked it with the look of the mudguard, spot on. Great minds, I'm looking into possibly Tig brazing a bit at the moment. I wouldn't mind a chat about settings some time if you would. I'm absolutely stealing your headlamp mount idea for project 'Stopgap'! Full credit will be given.....
    Great video as per your usual high standards.
    Dean.

      Thanks mate! Of course mate, I don't have much clue what I'm doing but I can tell you what I've had success with. I'll be honoured for the idea to be used. Should of saved the template! Thanks Dean appreciate it.

    All progress is good progress! I love the complete anti 'must be original and restored perfectly ' vibe. Are you in a shared workshop there, what's all the grey primered steelwork in the background, are there other projects we're not seeing? ATB for '23. Hopefully we'll meet up at some jumbles this year.

    • @retromechanicalengineer
      @retromechanicalengineer Год назад

      I'm definitely up for the Jumbles!

      Agreed mate! I want something usable and to my tastes, I reckon most of these restored bikes are barely used.. Yes I share it with my brother who's in to old cars. That's all the bodywork for his Ford edsel. There are however a few projects going on in the background, many parts being collected and some engineering processes being done out of house! Yes agreed mate, at the very least I'd like to get back up to Stafford.

      @@ColemanCustoms Stafford plan sounds good to me. You should introduce us to your brother and his project.

    Good episode again. Are you sticking with the eyebrows for the tank, or a large Triumph decal?

    • @ColemanCustoms
      @ColemanCustoms  Год назад

      Thanks mate, yes eyebrows will be staying. Since my 500 has the mouth organ badges I think it will make for a nice change 👌
