  • After last weeks hold ups with the dreaded sludge trap its time to crank on... sorry I mean crack on.
The postman delivered a fresh cap for my sludge trap which is now in position and functioning correctly, that means we can get straight back to assembling my motor!

Great video again. We all need a pal like Rick to keep us right. He’s a proper font of old bike knowledge. Its video’s like this, that will pass the knowledge down to the next generation.
Thats not a bad legacy to have Will. Carry on and keep building.

Thanks dave! Yes agreed mate, there is so much to learn and remember when it comes to British stuff so Rick's help is invaluable. Hopefully it will help someone along the way even if it's only a small help!

Great job Will and Rick. You should have a solid and powerful unit at the end of the hard work. Wellseal was the choice for piston aero engines manufactured in this country, so you are definitely in safe hands.
    Best wishes, Dean.

Cheers Dean, yes hopefully so. Only whilst doing this Rick has realised how little work he has had to do on his 650 in his ownership, they are great motors. That's encouraging to hear, I like the stuff. It's got a great stickiness to it unlike some other sealants!

Some carefull, thoughtfull, gentle assembly going on there. They look like a nice design, well worth having a marque expert on board as there appear to have been a lot of factory mods over the production run and it looks easy to put a lot of parts in that wouldnt work well together.

Wellseal definitely my choice of sealant, not sure I would be using my bare fingers with it though! Try using a small cut down paint brush to apply.

Good start morgo oil pump or the more modern Norman hide high delivery ones. Have to say I have come back to leaking main drive by sprocket most likely due to using a older Norton 4speed in my triumph.

Cheers mate, I am after a morgo oil pump but currently they are very hard to get hold of. The pump that came on the bike is serviceable so temporarily it'll go back on there until I can get a nice new morgo!

Great update and fantastic progress. Is this continuing to be featured in Classic Bike magazine also?

Out to find February classic bike tomorrow! It's actually becoming harder to find certain magazines near me, only seems to be WHS or larger supermarkets now, the small paper shops don't sell it or have ceased trading

@@AGEngineering Same here Ade. The larger stationer in the local small town or WHS are the only options.

I can neither confirm nor deny! Agreed, my local sainsburys have stopped selling any magazines of interest. Only celeb gossip crap on the shelves, what a world to live in ey!
