    The pedel assist sensor does not tell the controller how fast you are pedeling and then in turn, determine how much power to send to the motor. Its there only to sense movement. The PAS setting you have it set at determines how much power is sent to the motor while the PAS is sensing movement.

      Front forks are weaker and may break esp if aluminium.
      Front wheel is prone to spinning and could cause a fall.
      Steering will feel a bit odd maybe with the weight.
      Back wheel isnt too hard to do, I did mine no problem with very basic tools and knowledge.

    The instructions that come with this kit are bloody awful. I bought a front wheel drive to go on my home built trike. It was a real experience to build character. I am a retired engineer mechanic, and this was a challenge because I did not expect the torque produced. The instructions do not tell you how to mount the special washers, and I had the wheel tear out of the fork twice, tearing up the cables before I figured it out. I then changed to a heavy duty fork and ground the fork to fit the axel and washers, then I made a retaining torque arm to prevent the motor from going a different direction than the rest of the bike. You have to be careful. It produces a lot of power, but is kind of poopy on steep hills. Still and all, this is a great thing to try, and cheaper than a new electric, although you can now buy a new electric bike for USD1750.

    • @icebiker3
      @icebiker3 3 года назад

      @will kinh The plain washer goes on first, then the frame/fork, then the washer with the tab on the outside. The tab is critical, and is supposed to be, I guess, a substitute for a torque arm. The tab needs to be set into the axle slot, up against the lawyer tabs so it is trapped in there. The frame might have to be filed out to fit everything; just be careful to not make the slot too wide. I would also suggest a torque arm if you can get one.

      @Tech Round Up hi. One of the difficulties for me...not so much now...but I'm still learning... Is how to match the battery to the DIY kit. Since they come as separate items I am thinking that you have to have some sort of understanding of current and voltage In order to appropriately match the battery with the DIY kit. I don't know if I missed it in the video but what Are the specs on the battery that you purchased please? I actually went to the link that you have in the description but it is nowhere to be found. • @TechRoundUp
      @TechRoundUp  Год назад

      It of course depends on the motor kit you buy and how long you want the battery to be able to last, but I went with a 48v 13Ah battery. As long as the voltage matches the motor and the battery says it supports the wattage, it will have enough amperage to support

ALL YOU NEED DO IS READ CONTINUOUS OUTPUT the battery said 20amp for 30 second max.... meaning 26 amp waaay too much especially long use.... the needed is 30 amp continuous output for 1000w

      @@travis938 'China cells' usually just means 2500mah rather than 3500mah cells - most heilong sellers wont scam you, just to get the same continuous output and amphourage needs more cells, so they are heavier.
      Its not like general 18650 bulk sellers and thier '9000 mah' ultrafire cells that actually read 500mah or less....

      Illegal to ride on the public highway. Not illegal to own. Same as hoverboards/escooters/eskateboards/segways. But with these, they usually have a jumper you can cross to make them 'UK road legal' (obviously you take the jumper out once the cops are out of sight ;) )

    after buying kit like this i can say its garbage , motor is too heavy , you can get better performance buying geared 750w kit ,torque is same and top speed is same and weight is almost half of 1000w . I dont want to talk about battery consumption which this motor eats like insane . Dont reccoment anybody buying direct drive bikes when there are plenty of small geared yet powerfull motors . i have samsung 48v 40.ah battery and 1000w without pedal assist will eat it so fast. 1000w with wheel weighs about 7 kg while 750w weights about 4.1kg . Some brands have even lighter 750w like 3.6kg with rim.

      It costs $0.07 to charge battery where I live, so I don't worry too much about battery consumption. I also live 2.5 miles from work.
