Seems like that the XZ3 have better dynamic range and and little bit sharper and much better microphone recording; but the XZ2P have better noise reduction algorithms and second camera , but the bokeh is bad because of old algorithms and first gen AUDBE . Btw did you updated XZ2P on Androide 9 Pie ?
Bokeh is not bad at all. I have this phone and it has one of the best and most natural blur effects I have seen on any device. I have used a whole lot of devices. iPhones, Galaxies and so on
Mate, don’t want to ruin your parade, but right now i am shooting photos for iphone xs max vs xz2 premium. And in daylight portrait mode, iPhone absolutely destroys, shits and cums all over the xz2 premium. It feels like it’s not even a fair comparison... i
@@PixelPeepers 😂the last iPhone I used was the 7 Plus. The XS Max is Sony's first dual camera implementation vs Apple's 3rd. Apple should have a better portrait mode on the XS Max. I don't think you can even adjust the depth or blur strength on the Xperia (Sony lagging behind yet again). And yeah, I picked my Xperia over the XS Max
#360p gang In day light video they are practically identical with the XZ2PREMIUM having a weird mic problem. It's really odd but so far nothing drastic between the two. Bokeh mode is pretty good with human subjects on the XZ2P but the XZ3 maintains a lot more detail. I've seen some other videos of the XZ2P from WitRigs and PhoneBattles and the phone is only ever good in low light while being the same as the XZ2 in daylight. It's not bad but it's not something to be amazed by in daylight. As with most SONYs, they have good detail and accurate colours which is always good in my books
For the #360p gang - i hope you are watching it at least on a 4k display @ 360p😂😂😂 and yeah, in daylight, video is the same, selfies are the same, photos are the same, only bokeh mode is different. So, in my books, if you don’t do much low light photos or videos, the xz3 is a much better option (it’s a better phone overall)
I really was not Expecting great difference in video and photos in daylight. In this comparison, xz2p has a quite softer stills, colours in both are impecable. What Sony did amazingly is the removal/reduction of "wobbles" in videos. Some phone recording can be nauseating.
Great video as always. I heard that the XZ3 has improved dynamic range, but I did not see it in this video. Seems to be largely the same as the XZ2 premium if not a little worse. I guess that is to be expected since there was no hardware changes on the rear camera from the XZ2 which in itself is the same as the XZ1. Sony has basically kept the same hardware for three phone generations...
The xz3 is sharper with better HDR and color science. Still dont know why Sony doesn't make a dedicated image processor, AUBE is just for fusion in real time, Bionz still software.

If you upload a separate HDR face off of these two can you also explain what the Hybrid Log Gamma HDR of XZ3 is? And show how it compares to normal HDR, like HDR10. Also well done on this video. The content keeps getting better and better.
HDR HLG is a different standard of hdr video, like dolby vision or hdr10. It is better suited for signal broadcast, has larger compatibility, but it isn’t as good as hdr 10 or dolby vision. It’s much to explain, you can check this article out: www.digitaltrends.com/home-theater/what-is-hlg-hdr/
Well done video. I would have liked to see non-bokeh portrait, although I'm pretty sure they would have come out identical between the two as for daylight pics. It seems as soon as the monochrome camera kicks in, the noise suppressing algo pulls a Samsung and obliterates all textures. Going forward, IF I can keep shooting normally with only the main camera, I'll keep buying Sony phones. If at one point I'm stuck with this noise suppressing horror - ie computational photography - then I'm out of the Sony game. I like to see the pores of people I shoot. I hope the next Sony phone will stay on track. Otherwise I'm left with the Pixels.
There is a difference in having details on someone’s skin (pores like you say), and what the xz3 is doing. Xz3 over sharpens the hell out of the skin. Trust me, between the 2 phones, xz2 premium is closer to the truth.

Well that’s not the right way to judge a phone, by its brand. Sony made good phones throughout the years, but they also made totally junk phones. Every manufacturer had its ups and downs
Waleed Nohur well... speakers are more powerful on the xz3. Headphones are pretty much the same, and sound recording you saw for yourself, xz3 picks up louder audio

i, xz3 user, i can say battery is good enough, no great,no bad, it is just good! i always finish my day around 30-50% battery, it has qnovo tech to last longer in long life use, i mean when the phone is 2 years old ,it should last the same time when you bought it.
It is definitely enough for one day, but you will have to charge it over night. There are phones out there with better battery life for sure, but the xz3 can last you through a day.

Again we will hear a lot of beautiful promises, that this new camera will shoot like professional cameras, but in reality we will see when comparing, well, let's say with an iPhone, that Sony images will be inferior to them in dynamic range and, as always, xperia fans will justify it by that the software is not final yet and it will be improved))
Because Sony knows what a naturally good image is from a software-enhanced one. They initially thought that a natural-looking image is good for people, but then came Google with their HDR+ which people seem to have highly favored, and with Sony now gaining these facts, I'm sure they will tune the next generation sensors to produce these kinds of images. And yeah, those old sensors could easily be comparable to professional photos when it was controlled manually by the users. Only that this year, they removed the heavy noise reduction algorithm, because Samsung somehow used to do it in the past and were not quite successful with it, and that people prefer a sharpened look (like the Huawei devices this year) over a soft but natural one like the XZ2 Premium here, hence the XZ3's sharper look. As for dynamic range, iPhones again rely on software enhancements, and it's good for them, but Sony could also pull out similar, maybe even better types of images if they were just aware that people prefer their images to be that way. Which is to say, I worry that they would loose their natural appearance of the image, but I hope they would somehow implement RAW capture by next year to give the users their freedom to edit the great photos by themselves.

And i love it. The one thing i am not a fan of in the xz2 premium design besides the fingerprint location, is the curved back. It’s soooo slippery...
Pixel Peepers until this last episode I had a feeling you're rocking an iPhone but when I noticed the iWatch it became obvious! Nice we're both brothers in bricks! BTW... I am on a short vacation in Italy and almost had a heart attack when my XS Max when "black screen of death" all of a sudden last evening. Nothing I tried seemed to be able to bring it back to its senses and I started worrying. I could see myself running for those bitches at Vodafone for help and warranty. Went to bed and slept like hell... This morning took my wife's phone and searched the web and found the recovery method: short press on vol up, next short press on vol down and then hold the power button until that bloody apple shows on eventually. You don't imagine the relief!! So even Ferraris can crash on the last lapbout of the factory! Doh! :O

Video recording if compared to iphone XS MAX, this video from Sony it`s unpleasant to watch. In general, nothing new, everything is recognizable and predictable. Sony has not changed

Yeah, in daylight. But in low light, sony still does that wobble effect on light sources

You must be a medium to light user, my daily usage from 7 a.m. to about 11 p.m. ends with about 10%...
