Springsteen’s mother, Adele, 97, is struggling with Alzheimer’s. “She can’t speak, she can’t feed herself, can’t stand up by herself, but she still smiles, she still has that dancing spirt”, he says. Springsteen opened up about his mother’s current health status during one of his acoustic “Springsteen on Broadway” shows, playing Dancing in the Dark for her.
Emily is amazing! She takes a Bruce Springsteen tune with his grating voice and impulse energy and transforms it into a heart wrenching love ballad. What an astounding performer she is. Bravo Emily another fine achievement! Thank you, from the depths of my heart!

I didn't think that I would like a slowed down version of this Springsteen song yet when Emily does it magic occurs. When I hear the Bruce Springsteen recording on the radio from now on, I will be thinking Emily....
Hi Elvan, you know, I have discovered that Emily has the special ability to hear a song, and just immediately know what needs to be changed, in order to make it sound better. I mean over and above just her voice which always trumps any other. She finds that special something that, even if you thought the song was perfect the way it was, always changes it to a better version. I’ve told her that. In every single case, I have loved her version of a song more than the original.
Bruce himself would probably adore this. Really just superb in every way.

I feel like this is the way that this song should have been played, slowed down to really convey the meaning. I never thought I would shed a tear listening to a song I've heard Springsteen sing so many times! Not to disparage the Boss, just sometimes the meaning gets lost in making a song faster so that Courtney Cox can dance to it. 😂
And Emily, you have that amazingly down to earth voice that just allows people to connect to the words and feel the soul of the song. 😎

Emily, I have always loved this song by the Boss. Normally when someone plays with a iconic song differently, it comes out badly... But you created a lil gem by slowing it down into a ballad.. Much easier to follow the words and story. Fred Aldridge and I listened your version in our Music/Photography Studio (FnF Studios) I kept imagining you here performing this song and how I would want to orchestrate this performance. I know we would have laid down a pure track in the studio and then we would have taken you over to a nice park with a lake and shot you in various locations and a few on a stool by the lake. Possibly in the early morning with some haze and dew on the grass.. Even a softer version but this was beautiful. Keep on this track please.. We so enjoy seeing and hearing you.. You looked and sounded beautiful Emily... thank you for your gift of music.......

Bruce is a misunderstood poet, partly because nobody can understand a word he says. This was beautiful. Bruce should hire her to sing all his songs.

This is a very lovely interpretation of Dancing In The Dark. I am not sure you could call this a cover, not entirely anyway. You pretty much created an entirely new song, setting a new mood over the original in my opinion. My jaw dropped the first time I heard it. It still sends a delightful, yet wistful like chill through me when I still listen to it. Very well done indeed young lady.

I am always amazed out how well you sing each song with the perfect emotion behind it.
I would never have thought of this song to be slowed down and done with such an emotional edge to it
the way you just did. What is even more amazing is how young you are and are able to capture the emotion
so flawlessly. Not just this song, but other covers you have done as well.
That kind of talent is not taught, YOU just have it or you do not.
You no doubt have it and I for one enjoy listening to your voice, I can close my eyes and still feel
