i am 77 and have raced and watched the flat track mile races since a young kid ! It all started right here in the Midwest and the king of the miles is Springfield ! Such a great legacy of riders from all around the nation and the world...the power and the speed of the four stroke power beasts is awe inspiring and something of which you never tire ! My heyday was when Kenny Roberts TZ 750 was racing and my favorites were the Harley XR 750 ..heart throbbing power monsters that shook the stands as they went by ! Love it ! db
Yessir!! 65 (I think) here - DuQuion, too, they're both almost the same as days gone by..the big twins running in a pack never gets old, and remarkably is unchanged. Except maybe the sponsor sign girls outfits, haha 🏁
Apparently the powers that be at American Flat Track are committed to keeping the sport in the dark ages. The way to popularize a fringe sport (which, sadly, this is) is to publicize the hell out of it. For free! Sure, on the day of the event make it pay-to-play, but within a day or two you should be making replays available in full to anyone and everyone you can get to watch it. You guys should be churning out the best of the best in 30 minute episodes showing highlights of the prelims with high energy commentary and then showing the main events in full. Let people see it! That's how you grow interest, not hiding it behind paywalls and subscriptions. No one is going to sit through three and a half hours of heat races with boring commentators only to get shafted at the end with no finale. All that does is send them on to something else that's NOT FLAT TRACK RACING! Sadly, most people will never even know who Jared Mees is, let alone other human interest stories like Shayna Texter.
I don't get it, either. It's not like they don't get paid for people watching replays on RUclips, and who wants to watch live anyway? I have better things to do when the race is live. Oh well, plenty of other stuff to watch.
@@dylanmccallister1888 As long as they can make a little bank, which I assume is mainly manufacturer dough with some thrown in from other sponsors. Some privateers as well, probably on a shoestring budget. I enjoy the not-so-well- known things in life, too, they're usually better that way, right? 🏁
Flagman waving that flag like he has somewhere else he'd like to be...😂😂😂 I'm so old I remember when the exhaust pipes used to be on the Other side😂😂😂... Good stuff thanks for posting😊
Let's have people standing out on the track to make this a bit more exciting, shall we? Just like tennis player Bobby Riggs and his folding chairs out on the tennis court. Except he did it as a joke. [huge eye roll]
No main event coverage is what made me unsubscribe to AFT last year. This is the first time I have clicked on since, but the first thing I did was read the comments to see the reactions. And sure enough, nothing has changed... Bye, BYE AFT, from a 50 year long fan of flat track racing!
as usual, any form of racing that has "AMA Pro Racing" (joke) attached to it, isn't worth watching anyway- theyve managed to ruin Moto America with their ridiculous rule structures and 100$ per crew member "gate fees?" - the "BAGGER" concept has already fallen by the wayside, basically nobody gives a flying F##K anymore - they had a WHOPPING 10,000 3 day spectator attendance at their last round- I believe they're were more people in the paddock - the same 5 guys on the superbike grid followed by a bunch
Come on. Find a track that doesn't have those guard rails. Put up some razor wire. This is the 21st century. Were going to Mars. Make safety first. But then again to many people on earth anyway.

Nice to see your post! I'm 72. My dad used to take me to the Sacramento Mile every year until 1970. I raced MX, but always like to watch the Mile.

You make some good points. But I'd rather see it stay small than turn it into something weird like Ezpeleta did to MotoGP.
@@racebiketuner i agree completely
And im sure a lot of riders like it this way.
Thank you for your voice 👍

Kenny Tolbert has been building fast dependable motorcycles for 40 plus yrs. Tex Peel did great job training him.. humble opinion..
THEY LOOK LIKE MOTO CROSS BIKES...THE OLD STYLE WAS UNIQUE AND ORIGINAL..THEY WERE AMAZING PEOPLE
Did u watch the final race. Great race.
Tried to but NO SOUND!!! Bye!!!!!
I wish ralph was still doing supercross with emig.
Why can't I see the main events, it says live. Is it really?
For the folks at the track. 🏁
Wow they like moto cross bikes❤🎉
Très belle course

You're more than welcome to stick to watching tennis if it hurts your feelings.
NASSBIKE left turn, left turn, left turn.
Once more, you guys cut the main event. BS
And the placing chart never shows the motorcycle type! More BS. And Clickbait
Pitiful - shall I say shameful, haha. Makes zero sense. 🚫🏁

Ralph sounds like a broken man. What happened to the energy?
i thought that was him,wow.
This race track has potential for the riches dirt track spectacular for big block modifieds
They run sprints and midgets, not sure what else though. Fast track, not many full mile dirt tracks left..

in what reality is having people on foot, on the track during race? Insurance not raising cane? just jealous... close to the action..
Click bait no main today😂😂😂😂😂🤬🤬🤬🤬

turned this because of the female commentator -- please change her.
One of the announcers (you know which one) is terrible, as in “He grabbed a hand full!!” and other just stupid stuff.
Not even worth watching anymore

of tail enders who are 5 seconds a lap off the pace
I believe that if you put a wing on the helmet, it would help greatly
