I hope Mattel picks up the motuc line again. I don't know, but I feel Super7 wasn't really doing it for me. Here's to hoping for (affordable) re-releases of characters like Fisto and Mer-man to fill in the gaps with my childhood figures done justice 😊
Love these exclusives, but it's a shame they're so limited and expensive. Been watching your reviews for years now, Dan. Keep up the amazing work! I also find it amusing how many people are cheering for Mattel making MOTU figures again, like they weren't the ones complaining about swapped shoulders, swapped forearms, "blastic," production delays, changes from the prototypes shown, any time Scott said anything at all (the poor guy just couldn't win), the MattyCollector site not working on the two days a month it really had to, Digital River, any time they made a figure that wasn't in the Vintage line, "wasted slots," and all those other complaints and accusations and conspiracy theories and threats and downright abuse that made Mattel drop the line in the first place. How quickly they forget! ;)
Did anybody catch the subtle hints in the latest Super7 Update video? After talking about the latest MOTU stuff, there’s a cut to Filmation He-Man and a tear rolls down his cheek.
@@edstar83 No, but that isn't a bad thing. Classics has been going on for over a decade, and with each year, the market keeps dwindling. They've already done the entire vintage line, a ton of variants, a bunch of Filmation characters, the entire main cast in Filmation style, a bunch of 200X characters/variants/heads, the movie designs, and most of the one off characters from the mini comics, newpaper strips, magazines, concept art, etc. I genuinely don't know where the line could go outside of rereleases and really obscure characters from like Finnish audio dramas or something. Like, we even got Mo-Larr and Adam from the meme.
@@cinnamonbun1379 Exactly it's been going for over a decade, it's come this far and it's pretty silly to end it before it's truly complete. There are still many characters that people want. New Adventures isn't complete. 200x isn't complete. POP isn't complete. Filmation isn't complete.
If I spot it correctly, this one has Triclops’ left gauntlet instead of MOTUC He-Man’s toy inspired half gauntlet. There have been a few He-Mans to get symmetrical jeweled left gauntlets over the years but never that I can recall with his classic costume until this figure (sort of Classic) and the SDCC Origins figure. It’s a minicomics look, similar to Filmation, almost never used on toys without further changes.
Patrick Gerard Only MOTUC & Pre-Eternia He-Man & Prince Adam was able to secure this left arm bracer look. I swapped this left arm from PE He-Man & gave it to the classic version. He looks gorgeous with that look.
This was the one I was always wished they made when I was a kid. The little comic book that came with the slime pit showed this but you couldn’t play with the slime on your figures because the slime kept falling off.
I wasn't a fan of the Alcala head but I think it's the best fit for this guy for me. Love it. Not thrilled with Mattel as a company but will wait and see.
I cant wait to get mine, I'm going to have to pickup a second one. I was just gonna take him out, but the special packaging looks so nice I need to keep one sealed.
From the accesories to the packaging this fig is awesome. I am thinking about Green Goddess but, hope that issue has finally been fixed. Great review Pixel Dan. Will be hunting this down.
Hmmm, I'll have to dig those out from wherever I have them stored. Heh. Those were really bright, lime green. I don't think they'll match, but might still look cool!
Nice insight to a cool figure. Another nail in the coffin for Super7? It doesnt look good for them to see new MOTU stuff coming out with them involved. I guess what is in the pipeline is the last stuff from them? Maybe Mattel is picking up the licence again. I just hope Mattel continue the awesome Filmation 5.5” line, but that seems unlikely?
How come you got this heman? I pre order mine with the vintage wave 3 and 4 but I haven’t get nothing yet from bigbadtoystore or did you know when are this figures come out for everybody that pre order?
I know what the Lore is, but I always saw translucent slime He-Man as like a sentient slime creature that mimics He-Man's Appearance. Maybe it became sentient after He-Man was dunked in it, Maybe it just takes the form of whatever it fights, maybe it's an enchanted monster created by Hordak or Skeletor to fight He-Man. But I always thought of it as being made of slime, not just He-Man covered in slime. I know it's non-canonical, but that's how I'd play with him.
So when is the now obligatory Zombie He-man being used in the vintage Slime pit and covered in slime?? Also, can you show this He-Man under a black light?? Maybe use IV reactive slime and slime him while lit with black light??
Missed out on this... price point was too high for me, coupled with the worry about what happened with my (and others') goddess figure. Wonder if the fact that it was Mattel making these is the reason it pushed the price higher for the PC exclusive this year? Definitely looking like S7 is at least potentially losing the 7" line, and the 5.5" line can't be looking good if Mattel is going to be starting a line with an articulation-improved version of that scale.
@@Pixel-dan Fair enough, thanks for the insight! Wish they would've pushed for a larger production then, but I'm assuming they couldn't pivot like S7 did with the meme Adam figure.
unclassified All of this is frankly too high, so if we were to play the comparison game between Matty and S7, people can go in circles all day (better quality vs line extended a few years)... people have forgotten about complaining about Matty quality all of a sudden! Also, when I consider cost, I’m also factoring in shipping, and the figure cost nearly double for me all in... I’m fine with people paying that if it’s worth it to them, I just had to personally draw a line on that one.
I thought Mattel owned the rights to the word "slime!" If they are involved again, why can't they use the name "Slime Pit He-Man" or "Slime Slave He-Man!?" And more importantly, when do we get "Slime Slave She-Ra!" she always would have made more sense!!
I think it was down to how every time they did something, or Scott said anything, it would immediately incur an avalanche of complaints, accusations, conspiracy theories, threats, and downright abuse. After Scott left, they couldn't keep a brand manager for MOTUC because it was such a toxic "fandom," it drove people out of the position. At the end, nobody wanted to touch it with a 10-foot bargepole, and they were happy to turn it over to Super7.
Does anybody know where I can buy these in the UK? I have a few MOTU Classics but they cost quite a lot considering import fee's on top of the standard figure price. I wish Mattel would realise that there's an audience for these in other countries such as the UK.
They had it for pre-order for convention-goers back in March, but only if you were going to the convention to pick it up. BBTS had it up for pre-order sometime last month, I think, but it sold out almost instantly.

For me he is Slime Pit He-Man 😉

Super Pumped for this figure and seeing the Mattel logo.

Translucent plastic He-Man, you say? *_Sends out a signal flare to Toy Galaxy Dan_*

Great review Pixel Dan. Will be hunting this down.
glad to hear the return of the MOTU background music
I think the 2008 head looks best. The vintage toy head sits too high and the Alcala head too low 😉 But it's great that they included all three!
Great figure, makes me think a classics Fright Zone is coming
Alternate title: Kids' Choice Awards He-Man!
Thanks, Dan I'm excited about this figure! I snagged my preorder on BBTS can't wait to check him out!
Great figure :-) I can't help but think of that old "Mucus" Tick figure, LOL (not a bad thing).
Whew! Big sigh of relief. Glad to hear that he's sturdy! That was my one worry.
I was hoping you'd show him with the green weapons from the weapons pack from years ago. Either way, very nice.

Keep and eye out for the new Mattel 5.5 inch origin line. I'm pumped bc super 7 filmation was cut short. Still waiting for 15 figures on pre order.
robert ? We don’t that Mattel is doing a new line, or that Super 7 is stopping. That’s just a guess at this point.

Nice fig. Wish I could add him to my collection
YEEEESSSS!!!! MOTU reviews are back!

Reminds me of Realm of the Underworld slimes figures
Slime & Clear Plastic it like this He-Man was made for you.
slime pit heman, i wish they would make a 5.5" my kids would love it since they love playing with the slime pit
I'd be all-in on a 5.5 Slime Pit He-Man!

This needs an origins release, seeing that Anti Eternia He-Man and Wun-Dar got the origins treatment i'm just guessing this can totally be a thing
Awesome figure and review, thank you very much! 🤘
Oh man, you've got to get all the versions of he-man together.
You know whats funny other than being all green he Resembles the ultimate Warrior! That might make it worth keeping!
I would love a translucent Green Goddess from Origins, but they're already making the solid green skinned version (we think.)
This figure reminds me of the Marvel Legends Face off Hulk. I don't know why but it does. LOL
I hope BBTS comes through with my order. This figure is flipping amazing.
Just scored one on eBay...needed it!!
I remember playing with the 2000x slime pit it was so fun
I'm honestly surprised Mattel seems to be getting back into the MOTU property. I wouldn't have expected that until the movie came out.
I regret passing on the pre-order. I love translucent figs.

Yo pixel dan, you gonna have a booth at powercon?
Love the video, i can’t wait to get mine.
Hopefully we’ll get an Origins version, without the black spray painted head though.
When will we get a Slime pit,? They are making Snake Mountain so I would totally love a Fright Zone, Slime pit or dare I dream Eternia.
