This video covers the the appraisal of the LPG Policies, basically covering the performances of the Indian Economy during reforms. First, we study the good effects of the LPG Policy and discuss all the positive outlook like how the economy became vibrant and it lead to the production of industrial goods. The fiscal deficit also declined along with keeping the inflation on check. The foreign exchange reserves also increased which was the main point of adopting LPG policy.
Then we moved towards the bad effect of the policy and discussed how we neglected the agriculture and reduced the investment in agriculture and the subsidies also got reduced. It overall slowed down the agriculture sector which indirectly slowed the industrial sector too. This also led to unemployment as technology swapped the labor force. So basically we talked about all the pointers. There are so many points we covered.
So finally the students would ask "Should we follow the LPG policy for the growth or not?" We discussed the conclusion and ended this chapter.
