Good God you were staying at Chung king Mansion?? It is the most infamous place in HK. I used to go there in day time just to eat food. Brings a lot of memories really loved living in HK from 1985-92 !!
Your Sony RX 100 has not lost focus once in this video. The sound when you're not on camera seems better than the GoPro hero 7 Great video to Finnish in Hong Kong.
Gaby on the tour. Haveing great time. My favourite was when walk around Italia. It's a lovely country some much history. Rome. Keep up good work if you can call it that.
Hi Gabriel!! Glad you went to Hong Kong. I'm just curious, what did you think of it and how high does Hong Kong rank on your list, considering the other cities that you've visited?
I feel the same way HK reminded me more of NYC /London, corporate/cookie-cutter Hanoi was original/unique awesome in comparison. I wouldn't go to HK even on a free plane ticket
Hi Gabriel! My stars, everyone is on their cells..Kinda scary when you think about it.. One girl never looked up and I thought she was going to walk into you!🤣 There's life out there to see, so put your cells away.. Hong Kong reminds me of New York.. All the tall buildings and lights at night.. Vietnam stole my heart.. I did enjoy the tour of Hong Kong but, you can have it.. 🤣🤣 . Please have a safe flight back home and I bid you peace!😊
Hi Gabriel, You're buying outside it's always cheaper no overhead Hong Kong is a very interesting place I'm sure you'll make a return. I have a place you may find interesting with a European feel to it I've seen some videos on this a very interesting big city Buenos Aires.
I worked at the Powell's warehouse for a temp job way back in 2003, for a month or so. But yes I would be open to doing a book signing at some point. I'm not sure how long I'll be sticking around Portland for now, I think I would wait until I'm in the area for longer.
YOUR VIDEOS ARE OUTSTANDING AND PROFESSIONALY DONE. KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK. HAVE YOU BEEN TO THE FAROE ISLAND OR THE CHANNEL ISLANDS OFF OF FRANCE.? THOSE WOULD MAKE EXCELLENT VIDEOS. LOOK FORWARD DAILY TO YOUR NEW VIDEOS.
It is a good idea for people to visit Mainland China, regardless of whether for business or for leisure. Hong Kong was used to be the only city in China that westerners go to. Recently, there have been too many violent protests in Hong Kong. Tourists are not recommended to stay in Hong Kong. I personally recommend transiting through Hong Kong to Macau, Shenzhen and Zhuhai (a city in Guangdong province) by the relatively new Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and the Shenzhen Bay Bridge, which is part of Asian Highway 1. Then, they can visit Shanghai and Beijing.
Cool Video Gabe, yes the RX100 does come out a lot better than the GoPro at night... I just recently purchased the Canon EOS M50.. Same deal with that, much better at night... BUT.. The stabilization is nowhere near as good as the GoPro especially when walking.. My latest Video I used the Canon, it came out ok just not overly pleased with it's stability. Needs a Gimble. Safe Travels.. :) EDIT : I just realised my Video I only had IS Stability on.. Had Digital IS - Disabled. That might be the reason my footage was a bit shaky.. Will try it enabled see how I go :)
at 14:41-14:45 you passed a restaurant where a lot of people were waiting to get in, do you happen to remember the name or what street you were on? Just curious, I might go to Hong Kong next year.
I'm not sure of the name of the street, but it was just one block over from Temple Street. So if you go through the arch I showed at the beginning and enter the Temple Street market, just go right one block and walk up that street.
When it comes to low light footage your new Sony RX100 VI beats by far your GoPro 7 something that shouldn't be surprising considering that the Sony uses a 1" sensor compared to the much smaller used by the action camera. Such low noise footage comes at the expense of a not so wide field of view and a much less effective image stabilization. I would suggest for you to stick to the GoPro during the day and to use the Sony at night. It looks as if with two small cameras you have found the perfect bloger combination!
I was in Vrindavan,India 2 days ago nd now i am watching your videos of Vrindavan. Nice Town but unclean too ! So many Hindu converts White people from western countries you can see their in Iskcon temple in Vrindavan !
In mainland it’s sooooo much cheaper. HK is fun but mainland is much more affordable and almost just as fun. Check out Shenzhen for a day next time your in hk it’s right across the border.
Seen one market, seen em all, Gabe....:-)....not too impressed with your 75$ room.....could get several weeks rent out of that for a lot of decent places in S. E. Asia.....as you know....:-)
Very true. It's expensive but still worth a visit for a few days at least to check it out...then get out of there and go to cheaper and more interesting places in Asia.
No, I didn't have anything booked with them fortunately. What a bummer they went out of business, they were a great way to get to Iceland and Europe in general.
Dang, that's a bummer. If you have travel insurance they might reimburse you, but I'm sure you thought about that already. It's worth sending an email to the accommodation and explaining why you had to cancel the trip and they might make an exception, especially if it's a little while until the trip in which case they could still have time to book those rooms again.
Insurance does not cover airline going out of business more with a death in the family. I have travel insurance with my credit card. I book mostly with a 3rd party but they are trying to get me a refund up to the hotel. I called the hotel they said it’s up to the 3rd party. so we shall see how it works out. There is websites that you can sell non refundable rooms on I might check into that
Shouldn't have turned back at the last block. If you go ahead you will find many interesting things which are different from the stalls selling useless items, such as Cantonese opera performance, fortune telling and etc...
They actually preserved better Chinese culture than mainland did. Like the words ‘temple street “ is from right to left just like the ancient Chinese did.
HEY GABRIEL, WOW, LOTS OF PEOPLE. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IF YOU STOP AND STAND STILL, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE SOMEBODY ALL OVER YOU TRYING TO SELL YOU SOMETHING AND THEY DON'T WANT TO GIVE UP. LOL I GUESS I JUST DON'T LIKE CROWDS. THAT'S WHY WHEN I COME BACK AT THE END OF THE YEAR I'M GONNA BE LOOKING FOR A SMALL VILLAGE TO LIVE IN HERE IN THAILAND. I'LL BE WAITING TO SEE WHERE YOUR NEXT DESTINATION WILL BE AFTER YOU'VE BEEN BACK IN AMERICA FOR A FEW WEEKS. LOL
Indians and Pakistanis were the Hong Kong police during the early British Hong Kong colonial era. That was way before the founding of independent Pakistan.Indians were already in Britain during King Arthur time as guests of honours.
If you can, go to both. They're very similar in a lot of ways, yet still different of course. But if I had to make a choice between them, I would go for Tokyo.
Ironic that in the 70's when i was a kid, hong kong flooded england with cheap, badly made plastic crap & novelties. now it's more expensive than london.......same crap though i see...LOL
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Yeah more rugged and sporty, keep the great vids flowing Gabe, great work bro. I love how the channel has evolved, how true are the social blade figures, it says you make £60,000 a year, not being a dick, however do you get anywhere near that figure? I hope so, so you can keep bringing us great content without working a shitty job. Peace.
Did you see this video? ruclips.net/video/SLgnmA-z3XQ/видео.html I talked about sandals. I wish I made 60,000 pounds a year! I don't make that much, but enough to travel on if I stick to a budget. I haven't worked a regular job in years other than a few odd jobs here and there, and working in Alaska for a month. So it's working out pretty well overall. Cheers.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Cheers Gabe for your honesty, it sounds like social blade is way off then. I`ve followed you for years and your vids are awesome. Keep doing what you are doing buddy.
Yeah they just give a range from high to low based on number of views, and generally it's somewhere in the middle. A better way to estimate is look at the total number of views and figure most youtubers make about $1.50 per 1,000 views.
That's me at 0:45 to 0:47 still remember taking the mental note to follow your HK vids ;)
No way man, cool.
Great series mate...thank you..
Can't wait until the next.
I have been there many times, still great to watch your video. Thank you!!

For an ex British colony English signage is rare
It is exhausting just to watch and overwhelm with the number of people.

Do you plan to go to mainland China? The 365 hostel in Beijing is super fun! All around the hutongs fantastic

The neon lights act as a deterrent to the petty thefts and of course to encourage shoppers or pedestrians to go inside to shop or to eat.
