@@streetsofasia8895 glad you enjoyed it. During my trip in Hong Kong, I also had a chance to visit Guangzhou for a short time. Managed to film a bit during my short time there. Can't wait to share it with everyone
Thanks Anolipa for the constant support. Btw I am going to add your channel to my featured channels page. I am hoping more people will be interested in your walks in Florianopolis and that your channel will grow big in time to come.
Great video, one of my favorites of HK. It shows such an amazing variety in just half an hour. I liked the orderly chaos and clutter of the Temple Street Night Market. Then I was surprised when you turned onto Nathan Road, only slightly less cluttered and chaotic. The rain toward the end brought some welcome variety. But what really sealed it for me was when you walked up into the Public Square Street Rest Garden. I rested there a few times during some very tiring walks up and down Nathan and I didn't think I'd ever see a video of it here. Thank you!
Glad to hear from you Phantom 😊 and thanks for commenting on this so I can rewatch the video. Its comments like yours that provide me a bit more context of the location. When I visit the foreign places, I'm typically looking at it from the eyes of a traveller. Happy to know the video brought back memories for you 😊
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV I'm just a traveler, too, but I do like to plan out as much of my trip as possible before going. There are always going to be pleasant surprises I didn't plan on, but I can get more in if I have much of it mapped out beforehand. The Nathan Road segment (the planned part of my route) starts at 16:38 while you start up the steps to the rest garden (an unplanned detour on my part) at 19:36. I only took a few pictures of the rest garden and no video. One of the times I rested there was at night, so this video reminded me of that nicely. Glad you showed it to us. With the pandemic and the Chinese government's crackdown on Americans, I probably won't be visiting HK again in the next few years, if ever, so nice videos like yours are my only way to travel for now.
@@amightysailingman yeah I too wonder how much of Hong Kong has changed since the government crackdown. With the covid situation I can only imagine how bad the retail business must be going through
I had great memories of my tríp to Hong Kong. It all started in Costa Rica when my grandfather decided to sent me to live in Hong Kong. I travelled with my parent sister brother a Costa Rica cousin to Hong Kong in 1971. It was the longest tríp me made with many layover. We flew from Costa Rica to México City then L.A. California we took advantage of L.A. layover so that we can visit our uncle and he took us to visit Disneyland. Next flight Vancouver Canadá to Osaka Japan spend one night there. Next morning finally Hong Kong. My sister and me lived with my Hong Kong cousins aunt her husband. My Costa Rican cousin lived with her aunt in H.K. My sister and Costa Rican cousin return to Costa Rica earlier than me. At that time I was ten years old.I was easily adapted to the H.K. food and culture. I lived almost five years in Hong Kong. It was the best gift from my grandfather
It was around 8pm onwards if I recall correctly. I have this distinct memory that the stalls start to pack up around 9pm but I would need a local who lives around the area to verify this. Some of the food stall open till quite late.
@@GoodWalkers haha. Yeah that caught me by surprise. It was bearable in the beginning but at the end, strong winds blew me off course 😂 I know Hong Kong experiences typhoons at times and I got a small taste of it 😊
Fond memories of Hong Kong as well. I haven't been to the Causeway Bay area though. Spent most of my time in the Mong Kong and the heartland. Wonder how things are like over there now
Even as a Hongkonger I still afraid of going to temple street, because in midnight there are many prostitude in the temple street, also many people takes cocaine, weeds, drugs, which is illegal in Hong Kong. For me, the first impression is that the temple street has an another world with Hong Kong. In midnight, it seems like we had step into the another Hong Kong, lastly, I recommend people who is not afraid of prostitude and drugs to visit the temple street

Oh wow great nightscapes. So colorful and crowded. I love Hong Kong.
Yeah the night life here is one of the best in the world. Packed and full of people
They removed the neon signs
Wow, simply amazing. When I'm older, I would love to go to HK, it seems so cool!
I was there in 2018. It was one of my top favorite places I’ve ever visited
I went there in June 2019, right when protests were going to erupt. Even then, it was still my favorite place to visit

Omggggg I wish I can go Hong Kong now !!
... all it needs is the track "mind the synaptic gap" from Deus Ex and its set.
I really like Hong Kong, because of the movies I watched as a child, haha

Yeah. The area is well known for its "night life" and I believe they were plying their trade on the streets

I would say Hong Kong is the world's most futuristic and cosmopolitan city.
It's really sad China is destroying the pearl of the east.
