The intersection you got to at 22:08 is where a busy nightlife scene takes place including the roads leading off of it in all directions. It's a very vibrant and interesting scene with both lots of Vietnamese locals and tourists drinking at the dozens of street bars. Also there are several discos in the area.

Vietnam is the food heaven. Even Anthony Bourdain fell in love with Vietnamese foods. All Chefs around the world like Gordon Ramsay come to Vietnam to try Vietnamese foods as well as learn to cook some of their dishes. Did you try Vietnamese's Egg coffee, coconut coffee, back and white coffee, or ice coffee yet?

I have visited 4 major cities during my recent visit to Vietnam, starting from Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang and finally Ho Chi Minh. I definitely like Hanoi far more than Ho Chi Minh (or Saigon). Weather was more pleasant in Hanoi.

Hanoi is probably my favorite city I've ever visited. It's alive and real . It's far more traditional than Ho Chi Minh City and far prettier too. So much of the city is really attractive and interesting and even spooky but I felt rather safe exploring. Plus, the people are so welcoming. I ate worm meatloaf near the old city gate. Gabriel, I was so afraid you would skip Hanoi. Try their coffee. I'm not a giant coffee fan but I loved it there. I think I could live there some day. Have fun !

@Tuan Thai well, there are many places with dirt and trash, but that can change! and also there are very nice and clean places. with a little bit of effort we thing the government and the people can educate new generations to care more about the environment. If people like you make other people aware of the problem, it will start changing soon!

    • @MaiNguyen-fy4sv
      @MaiNguyen-fy4sv 5 лет назад +1

@Tuan Thai I got what you mean as lot of things need to be changed. However, I look at things in different perspectives and try not to compare. VNese are very hard working people since no support from government by all mean most of them have to find ways to make money to support their family, struggle to get their daily meet for survival. The vibe or chaos from street scenes are evidents of all that. The country has just recently opened door to outside world including tourism. I hope people are learning and improving every day to catch up with basic standard, more importantly the government should be more organized and proactive in their part....

When you see the Opera house, legend metropole hotel or some nice villas, you will definitely be sure that you are inside the French quarter. I worry more about getting shot in the US than I’d ever worry about getting hurt in other countries. People VASTLY overestimate dangers for women overseas and it’s largely from ignorance and never having lived overseas themselves.

The conical hat is only for women and all Vietnamese women learn to make them themselves and they can begin wearing them at age 16. A authentic conical hat will have 16 rings around it and those that don’t are cheap knockoffs. Traditionally Vietnamese men will judge a women’s intelligence by how nice her hat is.

12:20 -- Gabriel what type of phone do you own? Looks like a SAMSUNG one eh?
So, you must be using Android, then, I shall assume.
I would love to see what dishes and more snacks that you are eating whilst over there, Gabriel, please.

Hey Mr Gabe 😌 If you ended up on the bottom of the lake , how did you breath ? 🤣 hope you had scuba diving gear 😋👍🏻 only kidding 😂🤣✌🏼interesting place, busy but super chilled place ... where do you get all the energy from , to travel so much ? I’m about 5 years younger & I know def I wouldn’t be able to do what you do, even if I had a massive bank acc. wouldn’t make a difference 😬😯 you stamina & tolerance is very impressive , second to none 😉🤙🏼 nice job though, stay safe Gabe ✌🏼

Yeah I don't know, I just keep on keepin' on, until I need a break anyway and then I take one before getting back on the road again.

I love all your videos. One day I'll go to Vietnam in my travels. But, I will avoid Hanoi. Just seems to chaotic and claustrophobic to me. I'll stick to some of the other areas you explored there.

It seems, and it is! But we think it's a part of the country that needs to be explored too! And it's goot to 'suffer' the hectic city to indulge yourself later to the countryside, the mountains or the beach area! Really!

Gabe......great video but some quick questions about your Amazon store.
Which camera or cameras are you currently using listed on Amazon?
Do you use one of the money belts - Which do you like?
The packsafe shoulder bag - do you like?
    Thanks

Hi, I'm currently filming mostly with the GoPro Hero 7 Black and sometimes with the Sony RX 100 VI. The money belt that I have I bought years ago, so it's not exactly the same as the ones listed there. And I haven't used the Pacsafe bags, I just thought they looked like a good product so I included them. You might check the reviews to see what others have to say. Good luck!
