    Very nice. I had several looms but returned them...after watching you...I may need to re-think that...thanks for sharing.

    Hi Emily Maas! You can use a 41 peg loom, the only thing you will need to take into account is that here we used a multiple of 6 pegs to make the color changes so maybe it would be easier in your case to work in multiples of 4 (as we make here: How to Loom Knit a Pair of Gloves / Mittens (DIY Tutorial)) and then the last peg work it as you like.

    Hi Marianna McNeil :) We recommend you to use several strands of your yarn at the same time, as if they were 1 single and thicker strand.

    Is there a technique to determine a correct loom? Many a times the tension in the yarn makes hat too small leaving it not usable either for adults or kids.

    Fyi. Very 1st row of color change its the 7th peg she does this. I have started over many times bc of this. I thought it was the 6th. The 7th peg would be your 1st peg (after the marker)for the 6 marked pegs. Hope this helps 1

    Do you think you would show us the Intarsia with three colors of yarn on loom knitting? I am kind of confused about why you have to do the tense knots for the loose yarns? Do you mind explaining that to me? That would be great.

    If I want to make an adult version I can use a loom with 41 pegs? It is not an even number so I will have to end with a knit and start with one?

    I Love all the videos you post. I have made both your hats repeatedly. The kids hat. The turban and the mittens. I love how detailed they all are. So easy to follow from start to finish.
    I was curious if you would make a video of how to make a hat with ear flaps? I would like to make one for a child and then expand on the pattern to make for adults. All the videos I have seen so far are awful. And I just know that you would do a GREAT video!!! Thanks!

    Your videos are amazing. As a very visual learner they are so easy to follow. If I wanted to use a loom with 40 pegs and followed the pattern for the mittens, would I only do 4 rounds or would there be a 5 and 6 like in the hat pattern?

    Hello! Love the video - I am definitely going to try it out! I was just wondering - howcome you don't fully wrap each peg when you do the knit stitch? You just put the yarn in front of the peg and loop over it? I have only ever done it before by fully wrapping the yarn round each peg! Would love to know the difference it makes? Thanks so much!

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  8 лет назад

      +Sarah Haselwood hi! :) Good question. When we just put the yarn in front of the peg we are making a "flat knit" or "u-knit", while when we wrap the peg before knitting it we are working a "e-wrap knit·. The e-wrap knit has more "relief", while the flat knit gives a flattered knitting. You can use one or the other depending on the final result you prefer :)

    Hi! I like the bi-color of the hat, and I was wondering how I could apply this to a slouchy hat. I want to make a yellow and black stripped hat for Hufflepuff, and I was wondering if I could use a similar technique you used in this video, and make a slouchy hat. Do you think I could do this? Thanks!

    • @catherineportland503
      @catherineportland503 3 года назад

      A slouchy is just a longer hat on top. Just make more rows at the end

      hannah newton it’s a year later but I’m wondering the same thing. I looked at 19cm with brim not folded and the new color does not look long enough but it does say the whole thing as 19cm

  • @Katywes714

    I'm working on this hat and I'm now on the "knit only" part for 2cm. The problem that I'm running into is that it is so tight that I can barely get the loops over the pegs anymore. Have you can into this issue before or am I doing something wrong?

    • @catherineportland503
      @catherineportland503 3 года назад

      Im doing Uwrap. Same results. Just remember wrap it loosely all around the peg with hanging yarn in front then yarn over and take that hanging yarn from the side to the back start the next one the same way.(clear around) loosely. Dont tighten with this stitch. Also the one before loosen it alittle by hook pulling on yarn in front alittle and do it each time. Enough so its awy from the peg. This helps alot. If you need more instructions let me know

    Hello and thank you for your video. I am doing a hat on a 31 peg loom. Please tell me how many I should use to change colors? Thank you so much.

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад

      ***** hi! Maybe you could work with groups of 6 pegs as well, and then work the extra peg you will have at the end in the way you want (you could keep knitting it with the old color for 3 rounds and then with the new color for the next 3 rounds).

    Hi!
    I really love al your videos!
    I just made this hat but it's way to tight for me. Is it also possible to do this on a 41 peg?
    Lots of love
    Louise

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад

      Louise Hartman hi! Yes, you can use the 41 peg loom. The only thing you will need to take into account is that here we used a multiple of 6 pegs to make the color changes so maybe it would be easier in your case to work in multiples of 4 (as we make here: @watch?v=OMW--LqJfiI) and then the last peg work it as you like.

    How can I make the ribbed stitched work for the brim on a 41 peg loom?

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад

      Stanamaniax3 hi! You could follow the same directions on the first 40 pegs (alternate 1 wrap&knit - 1 purl) and then, on the last peg of the loom, always do a purl.

    This may be a very stupid question, but 9 cm looks a lot smaller to me than it does on the video. Is this perhaps inches? I'm in the US if that helps at all.

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад

      +Alena Cooper hi! We worked a brim of 9cm and we folded it up in half in the end (so that's maybe why the brim you can see in the picture is smaller). You can also work the brim in the same way we did here, for example, where we worked 8cm and we directly folded it on the loom (the final brim is 4cm): ruclips.net/video/SEHE3WGui30/видео.html
