This is the first time a tutorial helped with the knit purl combination that gave a presentation I understood. Also... BEST case off.. more professional finish (okay Ms Phillips exception) to the hats.. although i give 99 Percent if my Hays to charity I want them to look nice. Thank you so much!!

This is the best Beanie loom tutorial that I've found. Love the pattern and it's actually incredibly easy! Because of the different colours its easy to remember to do the different stitches on the different rounds! And because of the double and single yarned pegs it's easy to know when to skip and when to knit! I turned the bottom of mine up before going to two colours and it worked out great.

I'm using a thick & quick yarn like the video but my brim is super tight. I did the math and 24 rows to get 6 cm is like each row only adding .1" instead of the average .25". At that rate I'll use up all my yarn just on the brim!

What's driving me crazy as I'm working on this pattern is that you absolutely MUST flip your colors in the correct order over the pegs, otherwise it inverts the alternating color scheme of the stitches. Wish this video would have included that warning ahead of time! Hope it's fixable, lol.

    • @vickilee2461

@@vickilee2461 I dont know if you started or not but he meant that when you look at the end result u will find white braids and blue lines so when you switch colors you will have blue braids and white lines which will look weird because it wont match with the bottom of the hat

Hi! I love your videos and have used several of them to make my own projects. I'm trying to work this one on a 40 peg, and for some reason, it isn't turning out the same, especially the first two rows after casting on. Would it be any different for a 40 peg (they are both even number looms) or am I doing something wrong around the ending and beginning pegs? I'm not getting two strands on a peg after knitting one round and purling another.

I love the hat! But it would be too small for my husband. How can I adapt the pattern on to a 41 peg round loom??

When you did the last brim row you were left with alternating 2 strands and 1 strand. But after you switched colors each peg had only one strand. What did I miss? I've rewound it numerous times.

I have tried this pattern several times now and it does not work out correctly with the skipping stitches to then either pearl or knit on the double yarn peg. You either wind up having to skip 2 and then that throws the whole pattern off. Your video does not make this clear. Became too frustrated to continue

I used bulky yarn and it was too small... I mean so small I had to unravel it!

For adult heads, I think you need to use an extra large loom. I was going to try it myself with size 5 bulky yarn on that XL loom to see how it goes

Yeah. I just experimenting And it seems too big for some reason. Not sure this blue loom has 40 pegs or less. Maybe 36?? I’m still half way and I’m concerned it looks funny at 40 and 41th pegs. Still not sure. Will find out when I’m near the end and see how it feels. Honestly it’s feeling too big already from brim.

I tried a few ways to deal with that 41st peg, and what seemed to work best was repeating whatever I did on peg 40. There's still a seam but it blends in better than anything else I tried.

I like your videos, the music I have to mute. The yarn you use is not regular yarn; it is spun differently than the average yarn. It behaves nicely and is forgiving but I think it must be wool or some wool blend which is too itchy. It looks nice but it really does not make a hat that is soft & cozy. I have noticed it happens pretty commonly on tutorial videos but I have requested the exact yarn type and no reply. I do enjoy videos that have voice commentary which allows for variables and specifics along with other information that is helpful for beginners.
