hey everyone!
for this crochet bag you can use any type of yarn, but i recommend using a thicker yarn since mine is very thin, so it was a little bit harder to crochet with such a thin yarn. The bag took me about 3 - 4 weeks, but i'm pretty sure that you can finish it in a shorter amount of time🙈🧶
For the squares i decided to crochet in the colors of the evil eye, which is a symbol of protection and is used in many different cultures.
For research purposes i recommend this website: lexiejordanjew...
If you want to you can send me your result on Instagram😝 ...
After this short disclaimer, I hope you enjoy this tutorial and if you have any questions - let me know in the comments ;)
Have a nice day👋

‼‼ I MADE AN EDITING MISTAKE: at 7:25 it says that we need 4 double crochets, but you need 4 triple crochets (as I'm doing them)
sorry, my bad🥲

Hello everyone🙈 I have a quick question: Would you like to have a voiceover for my next videos, so that i'm explaining the steps or would you say that a written construction for the steps (like here) is enough? I appreciate an answer or feedback💌
I personally love when creators have the voice over so I can listen to them as I crochet. It’s easier than having to pause and reread everything. But I love this video thank you so much for sharing 💗
@@lilian_noel i agree with you, it might be easier to follow the tutorial with a voiceover😇
thanks for your answer xx
ur written explanation is so accurate the most beginner friendly crochet tutorial I've ever saw yet. and i think the voice over would be a nice idea so yes!
Yes plssssss
voice over and the written is the best for me!!
Hey guys, I created an instagram account it's called @75amst ( instagram.com/75amst?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA== ) so if you want you can send me a picture of your finished project😇💌
I loved this! My only change to the granny squares was to the last outer section of the "square" (with the beige wool). When I did triple crochets the entire way around, I found that the sides of the square were rounded and not very "square," which worried me about sewing it together & not having straight sides to connect. I changed the outermost ring as follows: The corners were still two sections of 4 triple crochets, 3 chains in between, but the sides of the square were now two sections of 4 double crochets. My squares were a lot straighter this way!
Did you chain in between the double crochets?
@@rebeccachassin4498 No! I only chain stitched between the triple crochets in the corners
@ thanks! My edges came out straight 🫶🏻
please continue making videos/tutorials I really like them, and I am definitely going to follow more videos on your channel!
Following this tutorial at the point where I am crocheting the pieces together and I don’t think I have enough of that tan yarn I needed to buy more I definitely recommend anyone else trying this it’s best to have three or four balls of the yarn you will use to make your straps
totally agree! the straps need a little bit more yarn🧶
My squares were looking a little wacky so instead of doing 23 double crochets (in the magic circle) I did 25 because I did not manage to make 12 "packets".
If you are struggling with weird squares too I recommend you change the number to 25.
thanks for the tutorial xx
did you add an extra chain at the beginning or have you managed to fit all 25 double crochets in?
@@ellalily748 I chained the same amount of chains : 6
They all fit but if they don' t, I recommend to stitch one more if it works better ( I didn't try) :)
thanks!! this is a great advice, I'm pinning this comment for others😇

Thank you so much for the tutorial...I have completed my project🎉❤
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I'm very glad I found it! Now I have this bag and I feel so happy💗💗💗
Thank youuu!! I really appreciate your feedback🥹☺️
Omg love this! Turned out AMAZING!!
thank you so much🙈💌💌
if you want your squares look more like a square, try 4 TRIPLE 3 CHAINS THEN 4 TRIPLE when you make corners.
yes this is a good advise!!😜
is this not just what the tutorial says?
@@hypersonic2867Right?
Was the thread you used a fine thread? Did the bag provide sustainability? I'm making mine the same way, and my thread is fine, I'm using a 2.5 needle.🎉
Thanks for sharing! This is just what I was looking for!!
glad that you enjoyed this video😇
have a nice day xx
I would like the bag to be more elongated towards the sides, can I make it 4x3 instead of 3x3 or will I have problems later making the top edge and the handles?
hey, there won't be any problems making it in a different form, maybe the handles will be a little bit to close together so you have to make them more towards the left and right side😇
I'm short of the beige Need another one. May b my squares are bigger
Hi I prepared all the inner circles and just saw that i did a mistake on like 6 of them and only have 11 packets of darkblue which makes one side a bit wacky, as I do not want to throw them away is there any way i can still save them somehow so i can incooperate them into the "stitching together" process. Cause I think if I used them on the bottom side its not so visible
Hey, it's okay when the dark blue part is a bit different/ unequal on some granny squares
More important is that the beige square around the circle is correct
Hope this could help you😇🎀
@@75.emma.thank you! yes it helps i tried to do 8 in one cause one ‚pack‘ is missing so i guess i can solve it like that
I am a Little Confused with the first Lines at 8:27. There where the short thin green lines are, should I only crochet together half of the granny square or the whole side?
hey, you should crochet the whole side of the granny squares together☺️
I couldn't edit the lines to be more longer😅
How long did one square take to do? Im planning on making this, and it would help to calculate the amount of time needed for the project
I would say it takes about 30 minutes, but I can't remember it well because I did it like one year ago🥹 so it could be less or more but I think you definitely can crochet one in that time🙊
@@75.emma. omg i thought you said you made the whole bag in 30 minutes loll gave me a heart attack
that would be impossible for me since I'm like the slowest crocheter ever😭😭
@@75.emma. omg same idk how people do it so quick
thanks sm for the tutorial!!! I’m really struggling to get the center of my magic ring to be small with so many stitches into the MR. any advice???
Maybe try to make the double crochets tighter and grab the yarn with more "tension"? when you yarn over, then you should have more space and the magic ring stays smaller
I hope this helps🙈😇
thank you!! i got smaller yarn and followed your advice and they’re so much better!!!
What size hook should I use for bigger yarn? Maybe a 4mm hook?
yes I think it will work!!🤠
what size yarn did you use? ty for this tutorial!!
I'm not quite sure anymore but I think it was a size 3 yarn🙈
thanks for the tutorial
Thank you😇
For the straps you make 5 double crochets with a chain 1 between each double crochet. Then you chain 3, turn your work and make 5 double crochets (with 1 chain in between each stitch)
After 50 rows you should have the strap done. I hope this was helpful😅🙏
(At 11:08 you can see how the pattern works)
Can ask the name of the Dark Blue shade yarn ? Is it the Monaco blue or the regatta blue or maybe the royal blue.. how is it called ? Oh and do you also know The name of the beige shade?
Hello, sorry for the late answer😅
So the dark blue yarn is royal blue from the brand "Schachenmayr Catania" the number is 201 royal, here is a link to their page:
schachenmayr.com/en/yarns/catania
The beige yarn is from the same brand and the number is 130 cream
I hope this helps🧶🙈
Is there a written pattern for the squares
Hi
I would like to make this bag for my two daughters.
it's schachenmayr catania
106 white
110 black
130 cream
can you give me the wire numbers for light blue and dark blue please.
and another question: with 1 ball of white, 1 light blue, 1 black and 1 dark blue, do you think I can make both bags?
thank you for your reply . Bye 😊
Hello, the wire number for light blue is 173 and for dark blue it is 201. When you are crocheting two bags, I recommend having 2 balls of the dark blue yarn since you need the colour more than the others and about 4 balls of the beige yarn. I think one ball of yarn for the other colours (black, white and light blue) should be enough🙈
I wish you good luck😇
Heyy love this! What size hook are you using?
I used a 2mm hook because my cotton yarn was very thin☺️
Hi! I would like to know if the straps stretch out over time or are they kinda strong?
Hey, I would say it depends, they are pretty strong but I wouldn't put too many heavy things in it every day so it will keep its form😎
im using a 4mm hook and yarn, should i half the number of stitches? the whole in the centre of my black ring is really big with the 23 double crochets
hey, then I would make 11 double crochets + 3 chains into the magic ring so that there are 12 stitches in general. For the next row with white yarn I would place only one double crochet into the stitch, chain 1( don't leave out a stitch) and then make a double crochet into the following stitch
I hope this could help you🤠💌
Hola me gustaría hacer ese granny pero no lo entiendo xq es muy rápido, soy principiante, lo puedo hacer paso a paso traducido al español?
Hello I really love this bag a new follower here ! I have a question how much yarn did you use ? I have 250 grams do you think is enough?
thanks🙈
i'm not really sure but i think it should be enough😅
Did you have a lot of yarn over? Bc I’m willing to make a bigger one
I had a lot of yarn over from the black and white yarn and also more leftovers from the light blue and blue yarn, but when you make a bigger bag I recommend getting more of the beige yarn🙈
thanks for the tutorial
thank you🙈 hope you enjoyed xx
Hi! What are the size of each of the squares? And the total size of the bag, including the ribbing?
my squares aren't not that perfect so each square is 10cm / 3.9inch wide and 9cm / 3.5inch long. The bag (without the straps) is 38cm / 14.9inch wide and 33cm / 12.9inch long including the ribbing😇
you said u make at the corner double crochet but u made triple?
you're right😬😅 my bad, it was a mistake while editing
Thanks for letting me notice!! xx
Man benötigt definitiv 3 von den Beigen Knollen ich hatte noch 10 cm übrig und hab nicht so viele Reihen oben dran gehäkelt
Hey:) Was hattest du denn für eine Nadel- und Garnstärke genommen?:)
What are the dimensions of this bag? Trying to get some fabric to line it with
Hey, the bag is 30cm long (with the upper rows with the double crochet, chain 1, double crochet pattern) and 34cm wide☺️
Hello can i please know the type of yarn you are using
I used a cotton yarn; but you can use any type of yarn (for example acrylic yarn)🙈
Do you have written instructions somewhere?
hey, sadly not😅 but i think the text in the video could also explain it :)
how did you make the straps?
For the straps you make 5 double crochets with a chain 1 between each double crochet. Then you chain 3, turn your work and make 5 double crochets (with 1 chain in between each stitch)
After 50 rows you should have the strap done. I hope this was helpful😅🙏
(At 11:08 you can see how the pattern works)
@@75.emma. so make five chains to begin with and work the 5 double crochets with 1 chain in between in each stitch..?
Hey, sorry for the late answer... RUclips didn't show me your comment :/
But yes! This is how you make the straps👍🏼
May I ask what size yarn do you use?
Hey! I think it was a size 3 yarn, because it was very thin🙈🧶
what do you call this type of granny square?
I would say you can call this a "Granny Circle in a Square"🤔 but I'm not really sure xx
Hola..cuanto mide cada cuadrados
Hey!! Sorry dont you sell these ones??

i actually never thought about selling these, maybe i should start an etsy account🙈
@@75.emma. don't do etsy! They take so much money from you sadly :(
