I get the impression that certain rolls on tempers becomes harder depending how many GA there is on that specific item. It's insane how many GA stuffs I've bricked...
I'm so glad I started with a flay build- Currently have 2 perfect flay/crit strike tempers on both main hand weapons 2GA, while my dual wielding are single GA managed to get 2x flay duration on them. Got a perfect rage of horgath too, can't wait to try the new meta when I'm off vacation

Tempering should work like a combination of Enchanting and the Codex of Power: You pay gold (add a material cost too, idc) to roll through the choices, you keep the roll and roll range you select, it's saved like the codex to be imprinted, this solves player frustration, keeps an opportunity cost (people spend hundreds of millions trying to get the roll they need when Enchanting) and you're not stuck with a 3 GA brick or an item that's locked to a build if you want to experiment.

Tbh what you do now is more like fiddling... and not tempering... But it would be cool if the more we temper certain stat the better chance and higher roll we will get.
@@IanKingMusic idk man, my build needs 4 ubers, 7 fully maxed glyphs, all royal gems, etc and that's not even considered the greater affix and getting lucky with master working. Add tempera onto that and they're too far in the opposite direction I think. It's too tough to get your build going. God forbid you want an alt.
From my testing and the top flay barbs vulnerable is more important that crit from gushing wounds… If you want to stack big numbers it’s vulnerable damage..
Its a good thing that some items brick, you dont want it to be too easy. However having recipe with 5-6 affixes on some is too hard. Just limit the # to 3 per recipe and its a good compromise
One big Problem with this build: if you are playing with Barb friends, also using rupture without wanton aspect, they are deleting our bleed ticks and doing our damage. We testet it on the dummy bc something felt of in the pits. My bash friends doing barbillions of damage with their rupture. This is a big bumper for me. The Plus is, you could possible rotate rupture with with multiple wanton rupture barbs doing huge damage. But we didnt testet if rupture uses every bleed on the target combined. Any toughts on this?
it hurts so much to see so many three GA godly items brick. they need to add more times to temper try or they need to add a special item that can reverse the brick. otherwise waste players time considering how rare the three GA items with correct roll to drop

They need to change the repeat tempers and raise the cap from 5 to 10 at least and raise the gold gains so much more to keep up with the cost of tempering and masterworking For the gold I feel like the pit should reward at least 500,000k to start and have it gradually increase the further you go
Use whatever you have less of. I believe it's better to try even them out much as possible. I believe if you using paragon crit damage glyph than go for vulnerable.
isn't it mathematically better to get a 2 x GA items and roll them to get high or perfect flay % and crit % than to have a 3xGA item with low to mid % on the flay and crit?
they need to change it. tempering is a good idea. But having to roll crit dmg on a rogue , where your chance is 25% , and if you don't hit what you want, you get rogue stats instead of atleast something somewhat useful.
The most frustrating part of tempering is getting the same stat 5 times in a row in a category with only three options. I can't tell you how many bricks that has cost me.
I love the idea of tempering and masterworking, but the execution is horrible right now. It ruins the game for me personally. I F'n hate gambling, and with this game the house wins 99% of the time. They really need to tweak things, because losing gear I spent days trying to get is not a fun gameplay loop. Also the mats to masterwork are such a pain to farm as well. I love rolling the same affix that has nothing to do with my build 4 times in a row. The amount of gear I rage salvage is growing. lol
I'm playing flay-whirlwind(dustdevil) right now and I have to say the class is daymn guuud, but very frustrating to gear up especially when all you get is overpower and all you want is crit. Spart from that a very guud class.
There is no pitty mechanic. I’ve rolled a 3 temper try 36 times and not gotten what I wanted and I’ve gotten what I wanted on a 5 temper roll 7 in a row. The system is ok but stupid at the same time. They need to balance skills via tempers but there should only be 4 choices in each set and each set should be for 1 skill. So you can brick an item but still use it. Ie. if you want double twister cast but end up with twister dmg you can still use the item it’s just not your preferred item.
If you have to temper another weapon to get a "pity" system, then you know tempering is busted. Hope they find a solution soon. Watching this reminded me that D4 Bad.
I would rather choose my crits while masterworking than tempering. Bricking items pisses me off a lot less actually than trying to crit the same GA while resetting a million times.
Whenever I’m tempering now I roll on the junk items until I get the temper I’m looking for then do it on the good item. It’s been way more effective for me then rolling 4-5 of the wrong temper then moving to the good item. Tempers roll back to back so often.
@theman1594 My Bash Build was struggling in the high 90s, mostly with bosses. I'll admit, I wasn't playing the HOTA part right. But anyways, I switched to Flay, and Bosses are taking a minute or two at low 100s. I can pretty much speed farm T99 Pits now. I enjoy it more than Bash. YMMV.
Brick 8bs value of gear today. Imposing presence +2 are the worst temper to get. Unlike other just percentages loss even low roll. Actually there's more than 5 in ratio there's still +1 or 2 for every temper
I spend so much gold, sold all of my gear for the flay barb. Now i do have the flay barb with everything maxed out on flay and crit dmg, but i'm broke as F.
I thought hitting flay duration was hard. Hitting that shit for masterwork is even more annoying. I’ve thrown away 500m+ trying to hit flay MW just once in all my weapons. It refuses to hit lol I’m not rich so 500m is a lot for me
I roll everything on rogue first, then go to Barb and try to get flay duration. Opposite of Rob. It's worked out so far. And I'm a casual player with 1.8 billion gold still. Only spent 200 million getting my weapons. Still absolutely ridiculous.

That's a lot of time for the vast majority of people and to have 10 hours of grinding just be flushed down the drain feels bad for everyone but the. 0001 percent who should be playing POE anyway

It took me forever to get my shit set up. I'm running a zero GA polearm still but it has max flay and max roll crit damage temper, masterworked it to 12 first try with 2 buffs to flay and 1 to crit damage temper, even if I get a GA polearm the odds of making one that'll be better than my no GA are so astronomically small I barely even try.
I just hate tempering. It's worst mehanic in the world. I finally got 3Ga item. My first usable 3Ga item. And I was forced to sell it. I just can risking to break 3 b gold item.. I need like 10 b gold to masterwork all my gear lol. Im not even happy anymore to get 3 Ga. Chance of breaking it is to high...
its just pure luck - i changed to flay and I have nowhere the time to put in that Rob does - had four weapons to give it a go and got two max roll and two mid roles of Flay - then went to rogue for crit dam and got 3 out of 4 -all 3 about mid to high - my mate tried and got nothing - its just totally random there is no way to know

How do People farm 8 Billion gold? Level 110 monsters drop like 1400 gold and its only 1-2 out of 10 mobs. Do you pick up all shit and vendor everything? That would still take months. How do people do that? Flipping in trading otherwise I cant imagine

What is the better tempering now Crit or Vuln ? Have seen good Dmg on both

The rogue tempering is definitely not weighted evenly. Most of my bricked items were from rogue tempering as well.

@rob2628 The odds to brick the weapon when its a 1 in 5 and 1 in 4 is 77%, and thats just getting the rolls regardless of how high of a roll you get.
