- Wanted to make a God of War video showcasing Atreus 's growth trough out the game ( as a character and fighter ) and how Kratos molds his understanding of the world , who to trust , how to fight , how to perceive conflict e.t.c . Also , SPOILER ALERT ?
My appologies , but I will spend a week playing this game before jumping in to the usual content again

We win because we are determined, disciplined. Not because we feel ourselves superior.
Greatest quote ever told by Kratos
which min is that one?
@@EmilioDx 15:29
The quote can't be closer to the truth. The biggest reason why Kratos was able to win his battles was because he brought out whatever strength his godhood provided and disciplined himself like a human soldier. The reason why he won his fights with the gods despite being far more divine as a demi-god was because he never underestimated his enemies. He was always the courageous underdog and fought them on their field.
Atreus: I know it's just that.. It feels good to be strong, you know?
Kratos: Yes... I know.
The fact that it felt like he's reminiscing what he is before when he said "I know" and somehow sounded like sorrow and regrets always gets me.
I find a lot of people lean to quotes like this, when in actuality, they just lack the confidence to make bold moves.
God of War 4 makes me want to have a son so I can constantly quote Kratos when he makes mistakes.....My dog is already suffering the wrath.
Just imagine. "You will LISTEN to me and NOT BARK A WORD. I am your father, and you boi, are NOT yourself! You are always pooping on the couch. You are rash, insubordinate, and always eating what you shouldn't! This will not stand. You will honor the house rules and abandon this path that you have chosen! ...It is not to late. *Looks at kitchen mess* This discussion is far from over. This kitchen is in disarray because of you, BOI... Never forget that."

"Keep your expectations low and you'll never be disappointed"
yep..
That is very true. Too bad many people over hypet nowdays and such.
No, it's not about that, if you expect something there is entities on the other side of this world that can hear your thoughts so they will give you all kinds of obstacles and you will never accomplish it. The more you want something less chance of accomplishing it.
That is because on energetic level you are too bright in the dark, and your light is attracting this entities to you. Metaphorically speaking.
Calm down, always be cold-blooded even if you gain something, because this entities will attack you, they want your negative reaction and negative energy. This explains why when you expect something always opposite happens.
When i heard that i actually applied to my real life, needless to say havent been dissapointed or depressed abt something since
That's the best quote of the game in my opinion.
My favorite. "Expect the worst. Assume nothing. And always anticipate an attack."

Hey sometimes you need that dad or dad like figure who can put you in your place and teach you the hard lessons
Kratos reminds me a great deal of my own father. Kind of an asshole, but an asshole tempered by hardship. Trying to pass on the same lessons without the suffering that was required to learn them. It made me kind of resentful of him as a teenager, but as an adult I am immensely grateful for it.

This line really hit home for me. I feel like a lot of people have the problem of being overly nice and compassionate. I feel that it’s the reason people end up in abusive relationships and toxic friendships with people that take advantage of kind hearted people.
Chris Mendoza
Makes me think of how apathetic Kratos was in GoW 3.
You and I are on the same boat. I, too, faced betrayals from people whom I kept turning the other cheek to.
What is to become of a man who gains the world but losses his soul in the process? We all must live our lives to the fullest make ourselves happy for very few people on this Earth will ever help with the intent of receiving nothing in return.

Wasn't sure about Christopher Judge replacing TC Carson...makes sense now. All this dialogue needed that calm bassy firmness that only Judge could do so naturally.
Reportedly the one who had the final say was Sonny Suijic, the actor who voiced and mo-capped Atreus.
Me too, At first I was sure it would lack the cruel, sharp viciousness Kratos needed. Guess I didn't know what Kratos needed at the time!
Kristian Hellwege that was a brilliant, egoless move from Barlog if that’s true. Their relationship is literally everything important in this game and if it wasn’t working from the moment they started work, it wasn’t going to work at all.
Nonsense
Christopher Judge did an amazing job, yes. But the "need someone else to voice better an older Kratos" is just one more bullshit. It was about *business* , nothing else; casting a _tall_ actor with a large body build to make a full capture (voice, facial, motion capture) at once and not having to assemble them later, much faster and cheaper to do.
I am certain TC Carson could have done at least as perfectly as Christopher did, in fact it would have been *the ideal TC himself* voiced Kratos again to perfectly show how Kratos has truly evolved.
But the fortunate thing about TC's replacement is they didn't try to bring another sound-alike voice actor which would be so lazy, convenient and artificial (this must have been at least contemplated at first), but someone else with his own particular voice who would perfectly deliver the voice Old Kratos needed to have. And *this* is Christopher Judge's triumph.

Kratos truely quotes of real life
“The strength of a weapon, any weapon comes from the heart but when it is tempered by the mind, by discipline and self control of the one who wields it, that’s where the true strength of a warrior lies” Kratos
On our journey we will be attacked by all manner of creature, close your heart to their desperation, close your heart to their suffering. Don’t not allow yourself to feel for them. They will not feel for you.
One thing I loved about their relationship is while Kratos always had a very strong command presence and probably always was considered domineering, you clearly always see that Atreus is always allowed to speak his piece however right or wrong he might have been. It shows that already in a lot of ways Kratos was a very different person since Atreus’s birth.

"A narrow path negates superior numbers" 300 anyone?
Yes. The historical one that was adapted into a movie then a Frank Miller comic then into a Zack Snyder film with an unnecessary spin-off.
A good strategy.
@@cristianaligarcia Not when the enemies can fly and get around quickly
An exaggeration.
I love that moment when kratos is holding Atreus as he cries. Like Atreus is literally holding back tears trying to be tough in front of his dad and for once kratos is actually pretty sympathetic there so early in their journey. Such a great moment that showed to Atreus that his father wasn’t going to judge him for having normal feelings after doing something like that to survive. Guilt is totally understandable especially when you’re like 10 years old and just killed your first man lol.
“Keep your expectations low boy, and you will never be disappointed”
This line is gold
"a narrow path negates superior numbers" wisdom of a true spartan
16:13 That last quote is deep. Thanks for your efforts, I was looking for this. Keep it up :)
It hits the closest to the heart the most for me in this scene.
I always tear up when I watch that scene
Literally the quote where Kratos sounds like a father. Who is proud of his son, and wants his only child to be better. His voice went from deep and strict, to soft and light. A thing Fathers do. I love it.
Kratos is getting older and older even the ashes of his family is fading
"We do what we please, boy. No excuses"
This one... is so great, normal person would think its spoiled but in reality its kratos saying to atreus that they must have steel will
"Anger can be a weapon. *IF* you can control it *USE* it."
Kratos knows this very well because he's been training himself in the woods ever since he met Faye. Keeping his anger in check and finally summoning it on command
In war a soldier sees beauty only in the blood of his enemy...the rest of him is lost.
The way Kratos teaches and talk to his son remind me alot of my grandfather. Abrasive, moody, somewhat vain, but underneath all of that is an undying love for his son. Everything he does is to protect and teach Atreus. And I can relate to that
I have learned more about life in this game than I have from anywhere else. I feel like as Kratos was teaching his son on their journey, he was also teaching me. Staying focused, being better, making difficult choices, moving forward when things were difficult. GOW4 and Ragnarok had some of the most important life lessons in them. And that's what made it great. It wasn't just killing and adventure and combat. It was more than that
My favorite is when you are in a cave in the mountain, wheen you stand around for a bit doing nothing atreus yells "HELLLLOOOO!!!" and Kratos cuts him off with "STOP THAT!"
"We will fight it."
"But why?"
"Because you are frightened by it."
I love the fact that he gets on one knee to be at eye level with his son. He isn't trying to be superior, he really is trying to be a decent dad, teaching his son how to survive in an indecent world.
15:28, love this one. I keep reminding me this everyday
"Don't be sorry. Be better." One of the best quotes in the game.
"Wars are won by those who are willing to sacrifice everything to ensure Victory" That's deep asf ❤❤
This just shows that kratos is the purest of a spartan lol he knows so many things about war and how to fight in certain situations lmao the spartans trained him well
The voice of kratos can influence anyone...
A father scarred by life teaching his son how to navigate away from his mistakes….what a beautiful story
*"Don't be sorry! Be better!"*
" Wars are fought for two things, survival or advantage. Battles may be won by the better soldier, wars are won by those who are willing to sacrifice everything to ensure victory."
This really hits, somehow. If we were put into some hard situations, it can fall to survival, or advantage over something. Temporary things may be won by the better in their domain, but for the things that can be last about lifetime or things that really marks our efforts, are won by those who are willing every single thing to ensure victory and worth in process.
The subtly in the knife is astounding. It still keeps to the idea of finishing what you start. He only helped Atreus start because that is what a parent does, but in the end Atreus is the one that has to do it.
Dad of War
“You will fight it because you are afraid of it. “
Well, should the day come that I meet face to face with a panther, it is what it is.
I love how most of the quotes he says in this game are tied to his past life in Greece where he was fueled by anger and he let it consume him its so amazing to see the progress in Kratos' life he went from this savage angry uncontrollable guy to this collected level headed warrior who fights to protect something instead of destroying everything he sees
I like how Atreus stops responding "Alright, Father.." overtime and says "Yes sir." instead
9:52:
"We will fight it, because you are frightened of it". BOSSSSSSSSSS!

I love kratos since i was a kid, but in this game i loved him even more, then i used to love him bcs he is a badass warrior but now i realized how amazing and wise he is, a great character he really is, reminds of my father, he used to be such an angry person but his love for us was far greater but i realized that after i lost him forever.. I see my father in the new kratos and it always make me tear up that i lost him without knowing how much he loved us and all i remember from him is me being a dickhead with him.. Rip father❤
Every time I play or watch this game I just want discipline in all aspects of my life. I wish to be calm, collected and not rush to judgement with things in life.
Yes
Try your best brother, ik you can do it
Kratos: "I'll make a boi out of you!"
3:53 While Kratos's abilities of empathy and understanding may have changed dramatically between here and the events of Ragnarok, it is still a valuable lesson for many today: That those who act out of desperation for self gain are rarely well-intentioned enough to care for those around them, so long as they benefit from the aftereffect, be the consequences good or ill. Especially by those who would abuse the good will and trust of others to achieve some selfish goal.

The one that stuck with me the most is when Kratos says, and its actually overly simple "that was his choice, we make ours". It applies to a lot, and it's a simple way of telling someone to think independently while also at the same time, making them realise that they should think more so that way.
Something about Kratos casually annihilating dark elves while telling his son how to shoot his arrows is so badass

It's almost scary how relatable kratos can sound
Because he's been through a lot like we have, And seen the world and its inhabitants at their best and worst. He knows how ugly it can get, But that it has its silver linings as well.
I love how this Kratos is saying close your heart… little did we know. What it truly meant. Ragnarok was beautiful
I like how kratos soften his voice when he asking atreus if he understand what he saying at the end...
16:05 this one hits home. From thr beginning we know Kratos feels Atreus is not ready with the notion that he's speaking on the journey ahead. I think what Kratos was really saying is if he dies, Atraeus will need to be ready to survive on his own. Not just in a fight, but in every situation.
When Atraeus saved Kratos using the knife, he did so without Kratos help. This made it apparent to Kratos that Atraeus now has intuition which is the most important thing when it comes to surviving.
“Just having a little fun you big grump”. 🤣

I always loved when kratos gave atreus combat advice
You know in hindsight, it is kinda crazy how Atreus is loki and the very first thing kratos does with him is kill an animal. Which loki being loki, that would be an incredibly hard thing for him to do because he can really FEEL how the animals around him feel and think. I think that immediately shows how tough mentally Atreus is considering how young he is, and he still kills the deer himself. Kratos helps him make the initial stab but kratos let’s Atreus “finish what he started.” These games are awesome man they’re so layered lol.
Sony went from "do not allow yourself to feel for them" to making main character lose her father and not revange him.
I think my favourite interaction is that kraits does not force him to fight other humans. He insists he fights monsters and animals but he forgives and allows him to not fight humans
