I have worn only human hair wigs for years and years, thinking only this would be the real Deal. I always had issues with them....color fading, drying out, frizzy...none of them lasted me longer than a year. I do wear only very long wigs and lighter colors so maybe this is a factor to think of. Last year I bought a human hair wig from a very expensive German brand and it was defective. It formed Dreadlocks rightaway. The Brand was anything but nice or careful (very rude really) and the process of returning and checking it needed all in all 5 months. I couldn´t afford another 2.000 USD to buy another wig in between so I switched to Jon Renau and bought a synthetic one just out of desperation. My oh my.....I fell head over heels in love. In fact people asked me if I did an Olaplex Treatment because my hair would suddenly look so healthy. Since then I only wear this particular synthetic wig and wouldn´t exchange it for any human hair wig again. Plus, for the price of a long human wig I can buy 5 of the synthetic ones. It lasts me with daily wear 5-6 months, so it´s a HUGE difference in price point. I cannot agree about the tangling even though it´s a very long style about 23 inches in total. In fact it tangles less than some of my human hair wigs. I really regret I was so snobby all the time. I could have saved myself so much money and anger.
Human hair is better, it lasts so much longer cause when you think of it, synthetic hair drys out and gets dull and matted over time and human hair can withstand a lot more than synthetic, when human hair starts to dry out a bit you can easily just use a hair mask or deep conditioner to replenish the hair back to life where as with synthetic hair you can’t do that and you’d have to buy a new one so I think human hair is definitely more better plus you can color it and treat it just like your own hair and don’t got to worry about any hassles such as it melting off when you style it or it tangling super easily....
I love Jon Renau, Bell Tress wigs because of quality if synthetic hair. Germany company have a very comfortable cap, and realistic hair lines, but sometimes the synthetic hair is so dry and have a short time using.

Why would it only last a few months ? I would assume, that real hair is much more vulnerable and short lives than something artificial. I will definately need to research on this topic, as I was certain, synthetic wigs will last forever.
Dracane I think the reason synthetic wigs only last that long has something to do with the constant movement of the fibres (hair strands). With regular brushing the strands stretch a little. Combine that with the fact that they're also constantly rubbing against each other, eventually they become entangled giving the synthetic wig a matted & worn-out look & no amount of brushing can separate them because they're so tightly interlocked. I suppose that some of the strands of synthetic hair may also come lose over time & if the wearer sweats then that could also contribute to the breakdown of the materials used to construct the wig base. If I'm wrong then please enlighten me, if not, I hope that helped.
why would you think real hair doesn't last long ? do you see women losing hair in 3-6 months?? no, right? real hair lasts a lifetime if taken proper care and its natural (i mean growing on the scalp). when it's on wigs it still should last as long as 5 years when taken care.
@@chandhand6539 This comes a bit late. I made this comment years ago when I was getting started with wigs. It was fun, but I am back to my natural hair as well now. :D
Amazon wigs are awful....go to your local.wig store they can cut it for free if need be ...you can try them on .that's the only place I get mine from ....I got scammed buying one online and lost out on 260$ ...never again .
Wig makers don't mind saying that spray-on dry shampoos work well because in fact, these compounds contain chemicals you shouldn't put on synthetics. Alcohol and aerosols are two of them. This way, your wig deteriorates faster and you replace it more quickly. Use talc-free baby powder, sparingly.
@@mt.shasta6097 I've tried all kinds of methods to de-shine synth wigs (baking soda, fabric softener, vinegar) and only baby powder and dry shampoo have done something. But I also hate using those things because they make the hair hard to comb through, smell (the dry shampoo has a strong smell) and they can both transfer onto things you are wearing. For example I don't want dry shampoo to transfer to expensive fabric hair accessories/hats that I have. Aside from that I can still tell a powdered/sprayed synth wig isn't real hair. It still looks artificial and kind of plastic-y. I understand there are lots of upsides to synth wigs but how something looks is really important to me so I'm interested in buying a human hair wig now. I'm just frustrated they can't seem to make a synth fiber that has the same level of shine as natural hair does. Under direct light you can just tell that it's not real hair whether it's a 80$ synth wig or a 500$ synth wig.
Human hair wigs are adored for their natural movement, and you can expect a similar natural movement from your blended wig! Enjoy richly colored synthetic colors with the natural swing of real hair in one neat package. Okay, so a blended wig is still just a bit heavier than a full synthetic, but it is significantly lighter than a full human hair wig! If you want a human hair look without the weight, blends are definitely the way to go. A huge perk of synthetic wigs is that they hold their style, wash after wash, wear after wear. Due to the synthetic portion of a blended wig, the blends are also able to keep their style much longer than a full human hair wig. Generally synthetic wigs are less expensive than human hair wigs, so when it comes to a blend, you will pay a little bit more than a synthetic, but less than a full human hair wig. Check out the link below for more information about blends! We hope this is helpful to you. www.wigs.com/blogs/news/benefits-of-human-hair-synthetic-blends
Kinda funny but when asked to ID which is which the synthetic hair absolutely looked synthetic. Could make natural hair look that way too but it would require some work.
Unfortunately, we do not recommend to attempt to alter the color of synthetic fibers as this can cause irreparable damage to the fibers. One of the many benefits of Human Hair is that it can have color deposited. Generally, you can deposit up to two shades of color. We do not recommend bleaching or lifting color as this can cause irreparable damage to this already processed hair. If you use hairspray or styling gel, mousse...ect that are not meant for synthetic you can dry the piece out and cause discoloration.
